We got there around 6:15 on a Tuesday night for their taco Tuesday deal for two and the wait was about 20 mins. The deal for two includes 6 tacos, chips and guac, two margs (house or blood orange) and two cookies. Upon seating, the server took our order right away. We were a little disappointed to hear we had to order 3 sets of tacos instead of getting 6 different tacos. We decided to get Baja crispy fish, soft shell crab, and pork belly banh mi. Tacos were packed and very filling. I wish the protein in each taco had a little more seasoning and flavor to it but the sauce they put on top made it better. Margs paired well with the food and was on the sweeter side (we got blood orange). After dinner, we decided we wanted to take the cookies that come with the deal home and order churros instead and honestly, it was very underwhelming. Other reviews said the churros are really good so I had a very high expectation but it came out soggy from so much oil and with every bite you were also getting a mouth full of oil and it didn't have the chewiness I prefer. I've always wanted to try this place. Came here last Saturday during happy hour at 3 and was immediately seated for a party of 2 outside. Patio is really nice and the interior is super trendy. We ordered the blood orange margarita and the nachos with pork. Service was a little slow but it was a bit crowded. The food: Nachos - 7.6/10 the portion size is huge for the price and the quality of ingredients is good. The pork was dry and over cooked and came in huge chunks which we had to separate ourselves. I'm personally not a fan of carrots and there were pickled veggies buried underneath. Not a lot of cheese either. The most recent is running out of chicken tinga (understandable), but the staff called the wrong number to ask about a substitute. Now I have been to Pablo y Pablo twice, once for dinner and once for brunch, I will definitely come back and bring my friends. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CHURROS. They are so so good. The first time I came here was for a company dinner. The chopped salad was to die for and I love the mix of texture from the pumpkin seeds and chorizo. The chicken quesadillas were absolutely delicious and had a huge amount of cheese in it. Brunch is only served on weekends. I enjoyed the raspberry Bellini and the Birria quesadillas (as you can tell from the picture, it's more like Birria tacos). I was expecting consommé on the side, but the dip had avocado chucks and chickpeas in it, which I enjoyed. Taking one star off because the service wasn't the best both time I was here. We love this place. We go a couple times a month. Service is always prompt and friendly. Food is really good and fresh. The ONLY complaint I have is they need to learn to prepare eggs correctly. Basically I called them to put my name down on the waitlist and they said they did and would give me a call when my table was ready. Two other tables also cleared out while we were waiting and still nothing. Then when our table was finally ready, the other hostess comes up to me, points and says your table is down there. My friend and I went to Pablo y Pablo for lunch. We showed up around 12:30 PM on a weekday and were seated immediately. The tables are pretty close together, but it wasn't a big deal. As an appetizer we ordered the guacamole. I would definitely order the large if you have two people sharing. The guac was amazing. It was a little weird because they had huge slices of serrano peppers on the top (my arch enemy!), but it was easy to push them to the side. The tortilla chips were also really good (and freshly made). Our server also offered us more chips when we ran out! For lunch we both ordered the Taco y Taco combo, which is any two tacos with a choice of small chopped salad, cup of soup, or rice and beans. I chose the pork carnitas and spiced steak tacos with a side of rice and beans. Everything was delicious. I enjoyed the pork taco more than the steak taco, but my friend felt the opposite way. The rice and beans were good and well seasoned. I washed everything down with a delicious Mexican coke! So, the food was great and our server was attentive and friendly. The only downside is the price. I do think it is worth it, but I probably wouldn't eat here all the time. They also charge a mandatory 20% gratuity. I don't know why that bothers me so much. I usually tip 20% anyways, but I hate it when it is not a choice. Also, I think you should always tell your customers that when they sit down instead of at the end. read more

The food sounded amazing but fell on some concepts. For example the pork belly Benedict was over a toasted English muffin that was quite hard to slice. A mix of three different cultures that didn't land, maybe over a corn tamale would have been better. Also a whole pepper slightly season, not properly grilled didn't deliver really anything. Pablo y pablo is my go-to spot in Fremont for dinner because of the variety in the menu and ease to dine-in or get takeout if it's too busy. Warning: it is NOT authentic Mexican nor is it Tex-Mex. It is it's own style/flavor of Mexican. It's playful and unique, making it super fun to explore different menu items. Some items are more stand-out than others, but if you try enough items, you'll definitely find something so super unique to this spot. If you're in search for something more traditional though, this spot will sadly disappoint because it's not what they do. I've probably tried most things on their menu, and I love and don't like a couple of them. So I can totally see how if you order wrong, you might end up with a poor opinion of this spot. At this point, I usually rotate between the items I love just because they are SO good and satisfying. Items I skip now: * the nachos - they were too heavy on the pickled vegetables for me (I feel they should not be on nachos personally). * pico - their pico is a moderate level of freshness. I prefer mine, so I'd rather not get it here when I could make it myself. Items I love! * fried chicken taco - this is the most fun taco and I haven't seen one like this since. There is this sweet sauce that reminds me of sweet chili sauce that works so nicely. * burrito bowl with carnitas (but any meat really) - it's not on their menu anymore? This was my absolute favorite because it had the perfect balance of flavors yet each item itself was incredibly flavorful. Beware of pricing here as it's not clear. I had a party of 2. The food was decent staff was friendly. So we order the barría quesadillas, it's not a quesadilla they are tacos we don't bring it up just eat them. They were decent so I order 1 more so we had 3 orders at $24 each. I got the chips and salsa, street corn, broccoli taco and vegan chorizo taco along with turmeric-ginger margarita! The chips and salsa were great, I can keep eating those for a while. I expected the street corn to be not on the cob, but in a bowl, so that was a little harder to eat and greasy tbh. For the tacos' themselves - I absolutely loved the broccoli taco, however I didnt enjoy the vegan chorizo. I started with the classic and then tried the strawberry hibiscus option, of which I am still dreaming days later. If you love strawberry and/or hibiscus, definitely put it on your list. I also love the menu concept. They are unapologetically "mexican inspired", vs trying to be authentic (something we struggle mightily with in Seatte). Lots of vegetarian options, appetizers/shareable plates, a highly customizable menu, and some unique takes like fried chicken or bacon/pineapple tacos? Fun! The menu felt diverse without being overwhelming.
