My first thought was to go to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Talking to coworkers, they recommended instead that I go to a mom and pop local place, so I started searching nearby. I found these guys within 3m of me and contacted them about details of what may be involved. I dropped off my baby, trusting their expertise to diagnose and fix the issue since I use this PC for gaming, personal business and some work. I received a call a day later as promised saying that they found the issue and to fix it they need to replace the drive. I asked about specifics of the replacement drive to compare it to a high performance drive I had just recently purchased. Mine was better, so I dropped it off with them shortly after their call to use in the rebuild. They said it would be a day for them to complete the work. I showed up the next day and my PC was ready to go as promised. Total bill was $85 to diagnose, replace drive and install Win 11 since Win 10 is about to go out of support. I shared my very positive experience with my coworkers just in case they need work done in the future. It's been a month since the experience and my computer is running better than ever and I'm getting used to Win 11. Thanks Nerds!

I had never heard of the place, but it was the closest alternative testing center (since the big ones are closed due to COVID) available for the date I needed. I was crossing my fingers that it wasn't bootleg. When I arrived my GPS took me to the wrong suite. Shoot! Good thing I was early. Every door I tried to enter was locked. Gratefully there was a sign on tone of the locked doors informing that the testing entrance was 2 buildings down (very close). I quickly drove over to the adjacent parking lot. Whew! Like another reviewer mentioned, it looks a little sketchy on the outside. You can't see in and the neighborhood surrounding looks aged. Don't let that deter you though! The door was unlocked at the testing building. Yes! I entered and was immediately relieved and at peace that everything was very clean (ain't nobody trying to get COVID), organized, and the staff was professional (always appreciated). They offered me a locker with lock and key to store my items before entering the testing room. I was able to use the restroom, and given instructions on how the process would work. They gave me laminated scratch paper and a dry erase marker for taking notes, as well as ear plugs! All these caring details relaxed me so much before my test. The room had about 12-14 stations with computers and there was only one other person testing the day that I came. Even that was a relief! I would absolutely return if I ever had to test again. Let's hope I don't!! If you like a small space with little to no other testers present, this might be a sweet spot for you. In my opinion they offer a wonderful little structured environment that helps subside any pre-testing jitters.

He told us the repair would take 3-4 days, but it ended up dragging on for weeks with multiple delays. Eventually, he shipped the computer back to me without my permission, and it arrived with the stand broken and the fan still unfixed. He said he would come fix it once the new fan came in, but after waiting over a month with no resolution, I finally gave up and ordered the fan and a new stand myself and had someone else complete the repairs. The whole process was unnecessarily drawn out, and I ended up having to spend more time and money to get things done right. I would not recommend.
