P.F. Chang's is one of those places I can count on when I'm craving Americanized Chinese food done well. As a San Francisco Bay Area foodie, I know what it is and what it isn't -- but consistency counts, and this visit to the Crabtree Valley location in Raleigh delivered. I was hankering for their Beef with Broccoli, one of my longtime favorites. There's something about that combination of ginger, garlic and slightly sweet soy sauce that hits the spot. The beef was tender, beautifully caramelized around the edges, and the broccoli was exactly how I like it -- bright, crisp and not remotely overcooked. Add rice and I'm happy. I started with the pan-fried dumplings. My server, Brian, recommended the pork over the shrimp, so pork it was. Great recommendation. They arrived on a sizzling-hot platter, and the spicy sauce poured over them made the whole thing come alive. Delicious. I also had a Mai Tai, which was refreshing and a nice start to the evening. Brian was absolutely delightful -- friendly, attentive, charming and just flirty enough to make dinner a little more fun. Service throughout the restaurant seemed upbeat despite the place being packed. Speaking of packed: make a reservation. This location gets busy. I had a comfortable booth and enjoyed watching the steady stream of people coming and going. It started raining while I was there, but since the restaurant is at Crabtree Valley Mall, there's plenty of parking nearby. I also kept watching another table order what appeared to be ribs presented under a glass cloche filled with smoke. When the lid came off and the smoke rolled across the table, it was pure theater. I have no idea how they tasted, but they certainly knew how to make an entrance! The menu seemed a little more expensive than I remembered from past visits, but my overall meal still felt reasonably priced for the food, atmosphere and service. P.F. Chang's isn't trying to be your neighborhood Chinatown restaurant. It's polished, approachable American-Chinese food, and when that's what I'm craving, it does the job well. This visit certainly did. Mongolian Beef with fried rice and a pork egg roll They were both delicious and the portions were large, large enough for us to bring a good amount home for a separate meal. This is 2 star review because of the service. Came to have dinner with the fam for Father's Day- husband and two kids. It took our server (forgot his name) over ten mins to greet us and get our drink order, then over fifteen mins to get our drinks to us. On top of the ridiculous delay, he forgot the straws (so our kids couldn't even drink their drinks properly) and our lemons. The lemons never made it to the table. It took over twenty mins for him to come back to our table, we finally ordered our kids' food and we told him they needed their food first (they were at this point starving... ) the kid's food didn't make it until ours came out and we ordered ours wayyy after theirs. We asked for a water refill and he forgot to bring me my water back, until about ten mins later that he made it to our table and I asked for it. I visited P.F. Chang's for lunch on a weekend. We ordered Hot & Sour Soup for the table and it was well balanced and tasty. We tried the Sizzling Pork Dumplings and they were delicious, I loved the spicy sauce and presentation! I had the Pepper Steak for my entree and it was well seasoned, the veggies were cooked perfectly, and the sauce paired perfectly with white rice. Overall, I thought the food was good and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. The booth we sat in was comfortable and spacious. The food seems a bit overpriced, but if you join the P.F. I ordered Crispy Honey Chicken through Door Dash on a Saturday at 6 pm. The order was completed, according to the receipt, at 6:22 pm. Driver arrived at 6:25 pm and had to wait 25 MINUTES just to pick up the order!!! Needless to say, it was SOGGY honey chicken sitting so long that it congealed in to one blob, and the condensation within the container made it worse. I lost my appetite. Why don't they have a pickup area for takeout orders like most restaurants? I gave the driver an extra tip for wasting his time waiting for the order rather than fulfilling other orders. We only get to go orders from PF Chang's a couple times a year. 2X Shrimp Fried Rice 1 Salt x Pepper Calamari 1 Cheesecake I think it's time for PF Chang's to update the inside decor and seating. The sidewalk and steps leading into the restaurant need to be cleaned and pressure washed. This is probably a 3 star rating. If you are just placing a to go order 3.5 stars. Giving this pf changs a 3 star out of 5. I love PF Changs and I am a reward member for years. My first time visiting this location. Starting off it was a Sunday and not many people. There wasnt a hostess. I was told I could go to the bar and walk in since I asked. There was a female bartender. She seemed like she didnt either want to work that day or she didnt want to serve me. I asked for a water (I wasnt ordering a juice or a drink , since I needed to rehydrate from the night before). The bartender came back and asked me if I wanted anything else and I said no. Thats when everything changed. She served everyone and had chats with everyone. I made an appetizer order for their brand new Bao. I kept on seeing others around me that placed their food orders get their meals before my appetizer. The bartender remembered about like 20 minutes after ordering and apologized. Same issue happened with my sushi. The time passed and everyone else was getting their food but me. The bartender went to the kitchen and got my plate. Never once was I asked if everything was okay. Instead a male bartender asked for sure. He made my experience pleasant. My server held talks and chats with others. Food was great but I don't think I would return to this location due to the service. I would rather stick to the Durham location which is my favorite . The location was clean and the music was great. Nice to see valet parking sign outside free for pf changs. I didn't try that but would be willing to use that service for the other restaurants at the mall. read more

Usually have little issues with this chain. Last year when I visited the other location, food was typical Asian fare. Nothing too spectacular, but still good. Not this time and not this location. We went on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was not really crowded and we got seated in a timely manner. After sitting, we notice that the table was dirty and a manager was walking by. We told him and he got a rag ( a smelly one) and wiped the table. Now the table smelled like fish. We couldn't take it so we pulled out our own wipes and wiped the table. It took so long for the server to come that the manager then came back to get our drink order after we let him know that no one came to greet us. Service 4/10. Ambiance 6/10. Now let's talk food. I love the lettuce wraps, usually. So I ordered them. They jacked up the price of 3 pieces of lettuce, some water chestnuts and ground chicken to $17. And it wasn't tasty either. We had to ask for more lettuce and more sauce. Next was the food. Both our dishes were subpar. I forgot the exact name of the main dishes but they not good. My friend's noodles were under seasoned and undercooked. Her dish was supposed to have shrimp and chicken. She had 2 shrimp and a few little pieces of chicken and lots of noodles and tomatoes. I ordered one of the chicken dishes with rice. It came with a bunch of unnecessary cucumbers and tomatoes on top ?? Why??? But the chicken was just nasty. It had a breading that was soggy and it was just not flavorful. We took the remainder of our meals home in hopes of fixing them up but we both just wound up throwing them away. This was not a good experience and I will probably not return to this location. Money is hard to come by and I expect good food when I dine out. The server was inattentive and unaware of anything going on at our table. She was so oblivious to our needs that we asked to pack the sauces also and she packed up about a teaspoon of sauce instead of getting another one. . Crazy. read more

We're Chang's Rewards members and longtime P.F. Chang's fans, so this review comes from a place of loyalty and honesty. We're from North Carolina and were visiting the Raleigh area, and we've been to this location before. Unfortunately, this visit started off poorly. We arrived on a Thursday night around 7 p.m., and despite the restaurant being very quiet (around five tables total), we sat for approximately 20 minutes without being greeted, offered water, or acknowledged, even as servers walked past us. It didn't feel like confusion or understaffing -- our eventual server was working the surrounding tables -- it genuinely felt like we were simply overlooked. That was disappointing, especially considering we were a full table ordering dinner and drinks. What completely changed the experience was the manager (I wish I remembered her name). She noticed us, came over on her own, and immediately apologized. She took responsibility, calmly explained she was figuring out who our server was, and stepped in right away. She took our drink order, brought out our rewards edamame, and made sure we were taken care of. Her professionalism, accountability, and kindness truly saved the night. Once things were on track, service improved and the food reminded us why we love P.F. Chang's. We ordered extensively -- ultimately spending around $250 with a $50 tip -- and nearly everything was excellent: * Kung Pao Shrimp -- outstanding * Lychee Martini -- fantastic * Shrimp Dumplings -- delicious * Chicken Lettuce Wraps -- a classic favorite * Pork Dumplings -- great * Prawns with Butter Lo Mein (special) -- really, really good The only dish that missed the mark was the Shanghai Street Noodles. We're not the type to complain, and there wasn't a check-in, so we didn't mention it, but it just wasn't great. While the initial lack of service for 20 minutes is something that definitely needs attention -- especially given how slow the restaurant was -- the manager handled the situation exceptionally well. Because of her leadership and the quality of the food overall, we're still comfortable giving this location four stars and will return. Our server,Aicha, and her trainee, Zamir, were amazing. I highly recommend asking for them if you go there. The food was fresh and delicious and I had plenty to take home. We visited on a Thursday evening and made reservations online. The parking lot was packed and we still had to wait to be seated after our reservation time. We had a party of six and I expected to have to wait a while for the food to come out but it arrived pretty quickly. The portions were large and could easily be shared. The kids plate was more like an adult sized. The food was delicious, but soon after we left two people in our party got sick. Overall, I thought the food was great (and wasn't one of the ones that got sick), so I would give it a try again. read more

The food was great as well as the drinks. Good service and ambience. The only thing is that they do allow pets. I seen a woman carrying a small dog in a bag. As I'm looking outside you can see the pet fur and particles floating in the air as I was eating. I would come back. I just can't deal to know if I had that floating in or near my food and people can be allergic to pets. They should make some recommendations when it comes to pets. read more

Normally I would just let it go, but I had been craving this particluar beef dish for a few months & I only allow myself Chinese a few times a year so I was super-disappointed. I called the restaurant, asked for the MOD and spoke to Chris. I explained the situation and that I just wanted to ask that they please double and triple check the orders next time so this doesn't happen again for someone else. He not only apologized profusely, but after hearing me explain how disappointed I was, he not only offered to make a new order and get it to me asap, but he literally drove it over himself!! We went here on a Saturday night with a reservation and got the chefs meal deal for 2. Starter was steamed dumplings (they were delicious but had a bit of a kick to it!!), one entree was sesame chicken and the other was honey crispy chicken. I loved the honey chicken the best. My mom and I enjoyed our afternoon at Pf Changs. After a short debate, we decided to sit at the bar and hang out with the bartender Megan. I have no idea how she was speaking to guests at the bar and filling so many bar orders. She was very kind, patient, and helpful. We checked out the menu and decided on crab wontons for our appetizer, and then, for our meals, we got the Mongolian beef and beef with broccoli. Both were delicious and were larger than expected, especially for $13 each. I love that there was tons of flavor and the beef, broccoli, and mass amount of fried rice was not overly salty or processed. It tasted real and good, which compared to a lot of other Chinese focused restaurants, this is not the case. Also, I liked that I was able to try the sake before committing. I enjoyed every sip and bite. Minus one star for the huge amount of rice compared to other ingredients. There was barely any beef or broccoli in my dish, and my mom's Mongolian beef was about the same. All rice and no beef or other ingredients. For the price, we were expecting a smaller size, but not fewer other ingredients. We had to buy a bag of broccoli to add to both of our meals. read more

My group had a reservation for prom and they were inconsiderate of the groups that had a reservation and put people that were walk ins before us and multiple other groups. Definitely make a reservation before you go- this place was PACKED!! A group of us were heading to see Wicked and decided we'd like to dine here first. We were seated almost immediately (within 5 mins of our reservation) and got a bunch of items to share. We had crab rangoon and shrimp dumplings to share (all tasty). Two friends had the Rising Dragon drink which is really fun- it comes with a lid on it and when you remove the lid there is smoke that comes out! For entrees, we tried the sweet and sour chicken, the mongolian beef, honey chicken, and waygu steak. The table's favorite was the mongolian beef followed by the honey chicken. The portions are good- you will not be hungry afterwards! You can pay by phone here too! Your receipt comes with a QR code on it that you can scan and pay- no app needed. read more

We arrived exactly at 7:45 and they promptly told us that we had to wait for another 30 minutes. Today is my wife's birthday and we planned out this dinner for several days only to be told that a reservation is merely a suggestion. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!! You're going to spend a lot of money for underwhelming Chinese food that you could likely get for a lot less at the food court inside the Crabtree Mall. P.S. The only reason why we decided to eat here is because we had a $50 gift card courtesy of my company. I wish I could change the gift card with another restaurant because I refuse to come back here. The server we had tonight appeared to be less than enthused with her career path, and appeared to be going through the motions (at a snail's pace). Since we arrived at 7:45pm, we only waited 5 minutes for a table. We did wait until 9pm to get our food. We will wait another 3-4 years and try them again, maybe. read more

We have always loved this restaurant, however, the portions seem to be continually shrinking. Our food was good but I feel it is overpriced. It's ridiculous to pay $18 for a plate of chicken and then pay separate for the rice! The cheesecake was really good. The chocolate cake....wasn't that good, had a weird flavor and not very moist. We didn't even finish it. Our waitress was wonderful! Very friendly and attentive! Sorry, didn't catch her name. Also, please note reservations are never running on time. We set ours for 6:15 pm for 3 people and were not seated until 6:35, and noticed there were several empty tables. Bar none, the worst lo mein I've ever had. The noodles were below cup ramen quality. The flavor was bland. If I had ordered in restaurant I would have sent it back to the kitchen, and I have never had to do that anywhere. I ordered DoorDash, and have never once had an issue with Chinese food quality. I've had PF Chang's around 7 years ago in Long Beach, CA and it was decent. I went here for take out since I was doing some shopping and when I got home and started eating the Kung pao chicken I ordered it was so bad and low quality, and same for the chicken lettuce wraps, I couldn't eat it and just placed it in the trash. This was the worst food I have had in many years and it is not something I would eat at any price point. The people who worked there were very nice. Great food and even better customer service tonight! I placed an order through Doordash for 5 dishes and unfortunately the delivery driver picked the food up from the restaurant but decided not to deliver it, yet marked it as delivered in the app. I called the restaurant to see if it was actually picked up and spoke with the manager on duty. He confirmed the order had been picked up and immediately apologized for it not arriving, even though the restaurant had done their job of handing off the bag, and Doordash was responsible for it not being delivered. The manager immediately offered to remake the food and deliver it himself, and even added a piece of complimentary cake and had the food delivered within 20 minutes (we live 10+ minutes away from the restaurant). I was blown away by his generosity! Very impressed and will be reordering soon! And the food was delicious!! read more
