I used to like PF Chang, and many if there places, like the one in Port Imperial are amazing. But this one in Hackensack, needs a new chef. Just does not match the other locations. Last year i retuned to try PF Chang, after years if avoiding the "common American Chinese" dishes. Port Imperial surprised me in a very good way, but Hackensack needs improvement. Staff is fine at both locations. The bar could be a little mire generous with it's pours. But do try other ones - i assume Hackensack is the anomaly, not Port Imperial. read more

Lifeless sushi is now on the menu at PF Chang's... They have "removed" all "theatrical" dishes. That means the 2 orders of Northern ribs our table ordered were lifeless hunks of meat and the ... sushi that was supposed to come out "flaming" looked like coagulated Elmer's glue topped with cold "shrimp tempura... I visited last night with my sisters and my mom. We arrived around 9:00 and the place was practically empty. It is beautiful inside, wow! I had never been before. Anyways, we ordered the pork dumplings, chicken fried rice, and beef and broccoli. I have to say, everything was delicious! The beef an broccoli was so flavorful, I love the ginger in the sauce they use. The food was also piping hot, you can tell it was freshly made. We had a view of the kitchen which was kind of fun too! I'm super irritated that we placed a car side pick up order at 10:30am for a 12:45pm pick. When we arrived at 1:00p I called to let them know we arrived. After waiting for some time we went inside to pick it up on our own. There was no one there and then when someone finally appeared they be told us that they were still working on our order! P.F Changs used to be our go-to restaurant for creative fusion dishes like BBQ spare ribs, Tempura calamari, Pepper steak and Hunan style hot fish to name a few. However, this is not true anymore. P.F.Changs is just another chain restaurant with limited options available for entrees. Service is very good and the staff are friendly but the overall quality of food just is not what it used to be. The firecracker shrimp seemed synthetic. The Korean style cauliflower side was way overdone. I guess its still good for a quick lunch but not much more. read more

I haven't actually been to any PF Chang's before, and I was impressed with the general atmosphere. Otherwise, why pay more for Chinese food when there are takeout places everywhere? The food was good but service was weird. And slow. And when our waiter finally showed up, we asked for a Coke with no ice, an ice tea with sugar (since they didn't have sweet tea) and 4 dumplings. We got a Coke with ice, no sugar, and 6 dumplings when a different waiter dropped things off, like the first one didn't write down anything and the 2nd waiter had no idea. Maybe just stick with one waiter? Or write things down? They also acted like they were going to have to remake the dumplings to get a smaller number, then said they'd let us have all 6 for price of 4. Like they were doing us a great favor. It seemed like the obvious solution. Dumplings were kind of small but tasty. Entrees are served family-style and meant to be shared, and the surf and turf had a great combination and had a variety of seafood morsels. Also got the beef and broccoli which had beef that was less quality than the filet mignon in the surf and turf, but it was also still pretty good. We also had the Vietnamese Chocolate Lava Cake, which was less sweet than others I've had, but it was light and had bits of strawberries, so it was a good call. Parking here in front seems like it was packed, but there is a garage behind. They have a rewards program, but I signed up earlier that day and they had no record of it, so I think it's worth signing up, but I had to save receipt and enter it online. Seems like some kinks need to be worked out with the system. Food is a little expensive for what you get, and service was wonky, but I think it's okay to visit for the atmosphere and if you have a group who wants to share the same entrees. read more

Several months ago, my husband and I returned to PF Changs and it waas delightful: great food, great service and low key music. Several years ago, the music had been such a problem with loud pounding duf duf drums and bass that we had left. Well, now, when we returned last night to PF Changs, expecting to once again enjoy a delicious, quiet meal, with great service and low key music, the duf duf pounding music had returned in full force. We couldn't bear sitting there for more than several minutes. When my husband complained to the reception staff they said they would speak to the manager. They did and he refused to lower the volume or even change the music. Finally, I went to speak with him and he emphatically refused, saying others enjoyed it. Besides the staff and just a few other people, the room was empty. We had arrived at 4:15 PM. The manager refused to budge. He said that the quieter music starts at 5:00PM!!!!I couldn't believe what I heard. It shocked me. What about the concern that the customer should always come first??? In the end, my husband and I left the place. This is the only PF Chang's with which we have had problems. The other ones, where we go when visiting our kids in California, are wonderful. So it comes down to the management of each restaurant in the chain and clearly, this one has reverted to the time when they thought the customer 's feelings should come last, not first. read more

My coworkers and I visited this location today for a business lunch and were blown away by the service. Our server, Greg, was one of the most efficient and informative servers I've ever had -- and this is coming from a former server. He had great recommendations, provided stellar service and answered our questions before we even had the chance to ask them. The food was also spectacular -- especially the 7-layer cake (OMG) and their homemade toasted coconut and pineapple ice cream, which was TO DIE FOR. The dumplings were good, but the main course was terrible. My order of spicy chicken was a lot of deep fried coating around a paper thin( not an exaggeration) slice of chicken. The taste was okay but I felt like I was eating fake food. My party even turned down an offer of free dessert and no one finished their food or even wanted to take the leftovers. This order was made through Uber eat, I usually use the service when I have a lot of work in the office, it's nice experiencing other flavors is never bad, but my experience with this restaurant was unfavorable, the food arrived frozen without utensils and very little quantity, quantity of food for a junior portion like a "happy meals but less", in addition to that very expensive for the quality and quantity, I do not recommend this. This was my boyfriend and I first time entering this restaurant. It was his birthday and I was recommended this place from a friend who came here months ago. As soon as we walked in it felt so calming and smelled delicious. From the dimmed atmosphere to the brightly displayed food presented upon our order, I have to say this was definitely a great night to remember. We were taken care of with excellent customer service from a woman named Desiree. She made sure we had our drinks ASAP and we always had a refill without even asking. She carefully explained how our dishes would come served to us and gave us plenty of time to actually taste the food before approaching us for our opinion. The service was fast and efficient and the chef's in the kitchen definitely know what they are doing! We loved it and my boyfriend enjoyed his birthday dinner. I have never been to a PFCHANG's before and was pleasantly surprised by the ambience. I would still not like to give this place another chance as whatever food we had was very mediocre and the service was not great eIther. First of all if you are going in expecting to eat spicy food then this place is not for you. Also if you think their Mapo tofu is like what you get at the schezwan Chinese places in the city then you are mistaken and you shouLd much rather spend your money on some good place. We ordered their lettuce wrap, Mapo tofu and the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Their lettuce wrap was interesting in the sense that I have never seen such a thing before but hope it tasted better. The idea of making your own lettuce wrap with tofu and fried noodles was fun and definitely engaging. Mapo tofu was just wok fried bland tofu with no spicy sauce with it. The only saving grace in terms of food was the lava cake which was amazing. I am definitely not coming back as the price I paid cannot be justified by the food we got and the service we got. P.S.
