Today I went to PF Chang's with my mother. I had the pleasure of having Habiba as my waitress. Habiba not only waited on my table, but was also working at the bar and waiting on multiple other customers. My mother and I waited for our food for over twenty minutes, after notifying Habiba of this situation she immediately took action and helped get our meals out. I pray that Habiba gets everything she wants and more. read more

I think this location really tries their best to accommodate, and if they miss or mess up, they try to make it right. I have been there in the past, and here are the highlights. One of the first times I went there with my vegan and gluten-free preferences, the waitress went through every item on the menu that seemed good for me, and she checked with the kitchen for any fish sauce or hidden gluten. Another time, they gave me an abundance of gluten-free soy sauce packages so I had enough to use without asking. Another time, they accommodated my large group of 13 people last minute, and then added tables when five more showed up very last minute. Recently, I was there this past Saturday, and we had a table of 15. I ordered the only item that is both vegan and gluten-free, the Buddha's Feast. I asked for steamed veggies with no mushrooms and steamed tofu (usually the tofu is fried). It came out sautéed and had mushrooms. The manager made sure the veggies were steamed again with no mushrooms, and the tofu was also steamed. They also took the item off the check. This is why I say, even though they mess up, they try to make it right. read more

Even after living in Monmouth County for decades, we had not been to PF Changs in Freehold, or to any of this chain of restaurants. The place was clean and the booths were roomy. We were given our menus right away. And this is when our experience went downhill. No sooner had we even had a chance to look at the drink menu when the waiter came over and asked what we'd like to drink besides water. We asked for a minute to think about it. The waiter was back at our table within thirty seconds. Then he kept coming by to see what we wanted to eat. We needed a few minutes to look at the menu. Meanwhile we waited for the drinks (which we could see were waiting for us at the end of the bar). We had to request them when the waiter came to take our food order. We had the Mandarin salad, a sushi platter, and pork dumplings. The salad was mostly crispy noodles. A few pieces of mandarin oranges. The sushi was just okay, and the pork dumplings tasted like they were previously cooked and frozen hen reheated. As one of our party was finished eating and the other in our group was still eating, the waiter came over and handed us the dessert menu. Then one minute later asked what we'd like for dessert. When we finished eating, the check was slammed down on the table and the waiter rushed off. We did speak to the manager about it, he apologized but said upper management wants them to move the patrons along. All told we were only there for less than an hour. And we did have dessert, which was a dollar coin-sized portion of key lime pie. We know this is a chain restaurant but this was a very poor experience. read more

She was super attentive and helpful and kept updating us on the status of our food. All the food was delicious but the restaurant was overly crowded, I think they overbooked. Visiting Freehold Mall and saw PF Chang's and made a reservation Friday evening. Good timing as within an hour the restaurant was jampacked. WE were served by Kaitlin who was awesome in helping us choose appetizers and main course. She even found out my rewards membership was still active and I have $ to use next visit. For appetizers chicken lettuce wrap, northern style spare ribs (wish they would bring back the salt) and for main course King Pao Chicken and we added shrimp. Served with white rice. Stopped in because we were tired of waiting for our reservations in a different restaurant. Great decision! We arrived 30 minutes before closing which we know is terrible but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They also had several tables still eating and still hadn't even ordered so we decided to stay. I ordered the pomegranate lemonade which was really good! I also ordered the chicken and broccoli and a side of white rice. The rice was bland but the chicken and broccoli was good. But it took them more than 20 minutes to seat us. They are way understaffed. Food was terrible also. Every food was super salty - from lettuce wraps, mongolian beef to Korean chicken. Speaking of Korean chicken, it is absolutely not Korean authentic. I could not have even one bite due to strange herb they used. They should not advertise it as Korean chicken. We were skeptical about coming in the first place. There was a 45 minute wait even though there were over 10 empty tables available. The waiter told us that they ran out of food about 45 minutes ago so not everything on the special menu was available. We waited about 20 minutes to receive our food and although I asked for my Mongolian beef to be well done, it was burnt to the crisp and was beyond chewy. I literally felt like I was a pitcher at a baseball game. That's how chewy this beef was! The food was also lukewarm, and the waiter never offered us water and only gave us the beverage that we asked for. The waiter suddenly disappeared for at least 30 minutes. We had to ask any and every to help us. All I wanted was something to drink. I couldn't even enjoy the rest of my food because I had nothing to drink and I felt like a human cactus just waiting and waiting and waiting for something to drink which never quite arrived. We was then told that the bar ran out of strawberries simply because I asked for strawberry lemonade. You would think that the waiter would at least come back to communicate that right? WRONG.... he didn't. As a result, we told him to keep that drink and keep the dessert that we were considering ordering. I will never, and I mean never come back to this place again. A wonderfully decorated establishment with very good service; definitely a nice vibe to have a meal but unfortunately it ends here. This is the Olive Garden of Chinese cuisine. I have had American Style and Authentic in many places and didn't really expect much here and I was glad I had a low bar. The foods were served with dry overcooked meats that lack saucing and horribly dry rice. The flavor of the dishes are very bland and on the salty side which were disappointing. The Spicy Chicken and Honey Chicken are mostly batter, the Beef with broccoli had severely overcooked everything. The best part of the meal was a cheesecake which is undoubtedly pre made and brought in from their distributor. 2 stars only because service was very good. read more

However, the food took forever, and when it arrived, it was missing things and it was cold and the bartender didn't even ask if everything was fine. What a disaster of a meal!!! First, the place was empty and we were told that there was a 40 minute wait. We were told that we could sit at the bar and that would be faster. We think they gave her the same beef that was in the Mongolian beef dish that they had incorrectly made her. We asked for dumpling sauce, which we had to ask for again, because they didn't bring it out with our food. We finally got it and thankfully we dipped our fork in it, before pouring it on our food. It tasted like cough medicine. We ask the server if this was dumpling sauce and she said yes. We told her it was horrible and she replied, yeah they changed a few things on the menu. You're not the first to complain. Other people at the bar were also complaining about their meals. The manager made no attempt to accommodate or apologize. We had to ask if dessert was on the house because of our experience. The server did comp dessert. That was the only thing that was good. Banana spring rolls. We haven't had the best experience in our last several visits to PF Changs over the past several years. But we were craving Chinese and were near Freehold, so we gave them a shot. We arrived at 4:30pm on Valentines Day. We selected the PreFixe menu for 2. The appetizer, salad and soup was brought out together which was too much for our table for 2. About 45 minutes later our dinner was brought out without clearing the plates of appetizers, salad,soup and brought a small amount of the order of fried rice which the server said they were making more and it would be brought out when ready. At about 6:30 pm when we were able to get the servers attention again we never got the fried rice we were promised and just asked for boxes to take our food home and he said he put in the order for the dessert to be brought out. At approximately 7pm when we caught his attention again, we told him to forget the dessert and bring our check. We finally got the check at 7:40 pm. That's unheard of then I ordered the dynamite shrimp which is a California roll and bang bang shrimp on top and I noticed it was different immediately they chopped up Shrimp so small and then fried it and put it on top. For entree I hit the Orange Chicken and HAD to make it spicy. The portion here was crazy and youre damn right I licked the plate clean. First, yes it's a chain restaurant, but that just means you know what the menu tastes like, no matter what city you're in, lol. And no, it's not authentic Chinese food, but it's really tasty American Chinese fusion. So to me, it's better than three stars as I always have a delicious meal. The service is always good, sometimes even great, like Austin today in the Freehold, NJ outpost. The cocktails are stellar, and the flavored teas are always good. We got lettuce wraps which always tastes better than the ones I make at home, wonton soup, which unfortunately was not as flavorful as usual and Chang's spicy chicken dinner portion. The chicken wasn't spicy to us but it was tasty and it had no veggies which made hubby happy.
