We should have gotten the ducts cleaned before installing an in-duct booster fan, but we didn't think of it, so we needed the cleaners to be extra careful with their rotating brushes in that area. They came out 3-2-26. [I deleted the rest of my review, but the photos can' be deleted - they show dirt that showed up on our filter 2 months later. I don't know how or when the brush ended up there -- but I do know that a thorough duct cleaning should have found and removed it, and Capitol's did not. When I called to raise this, they denied any responsibility and offered excuses for why their air-hose method wouldn't have caught it -- while refusing to remove it now except as a new, separately paid job. Whatever the brush's origin, their original service demonstrably failed to clear the duct. I agreed to pay again anyway, just to get it resolved. I was told a manager would call me first to discuss it. No one called. I waited for the scheduled technician instead; no one showed. When I followed up, I learned the office had canceled the appointment without telling me. I rescheduled a third time, and to avoid any confusion, I emailed a photo of the brush along with the access details (about 10 feet in, no crawlspace) and asked them to confirm they could do the job at the agreed price. The email went unanswered. When I called, I was assured the office had seen it, reviewed the photo, and confirmed the job and price. Two weeks later, the technicians arrived -- 90 minutes early, before I was ready -- with no idea they were there to remove a stuck brush. After using about 15 minutes of my time, they concluded they couldn't remove it after all. I told them to leave and hired someone else. Across three separate appointments and every point of contact -- the initial cleaning a year ago, the manager callback, the scheduled visit, the confirmed job -- Capitol Duct Cleaning did not follow through on a single commitment it made. In Dec I needed my geothermal checked, it was low on refrigerant, Matt added some. Then I noticed in January that some oil had leaked out and I was told that the existing oil had to be measured to insure the correct amount was add, this made sense. on 2/28/26 the woek was accomplished plus by Devon and Matt serviced my A/C pump for the up coming season. At this time I was very pleased with the work and even recommended them to my friend that needed a new heatpump and furnace, he hired them. I also ask Matt about placing my other mini split heatpump on this plan at an additional fee or starting a separate plan, he said he would discuss it with his wife. I mid March he had not replied I called and ask again about the third pump and was told the same thing, he would ask his wife. Thi was the last time I talked to anyone from the Company and I don't know why. In April I called and requested a call back no response. In May I sent an E-mail no response. June I sent a second E-mail no response. July 2 I sent a registered return reciept letter it was picked up. I have now cancelled my service with them. I don't think this is the way to treat a customer that has even reffered other clients to you.

Fortunately, DH hadn't effed things up too badly by the time Ken arrived. He quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the thermostat, replaced the fuse, scolded us good-naturedly about the disgusting clogged air filter and THEN came over to OUR house to provide an impromptu diagnosis as to why the gas fireplace is malfunctioning. Well, he was here for about an hour and a half and I don't even want to tell you what he charged; it's way too little and he still needs to grow his business and support a family. But you know, Ken's that kind of a person. He's got a good heart, is honest and does beautiful work. I can say without hesitation, you'll want him to be the go-to guy for all your HVAC needs, too. The issue I had with Greentop is the warranty registration, which was incorrectly registered with my name and contact info as the dealer. I traded a couple e-mails with Vera and was then ghosted. I ended up calling the manuf myself to have them at least correct the name of the dealer on my warranty registration to Greentop. They advised they couldn't change the contact info. I'm hoping I don't have any warranty issues down the line due to their error.
