Again very little information was communicated to me. Less than two days af getting the car back my wheel broke completely off of my car while driving to San Diego. When towed to a local shop in San Diego, they pointed out that the wheel was missing a part, likely left off by the last repair shop, which was AAMCO. AAMCO's manager refused to take responsibility and would not reimburse for the $1100 in additional repairs due to their shop's negligence.

From the beginning, John, the owner, and his son Jonathan were honest, knowledgeable, and straightforward with me. What I appreciated most was that they took the time to properly look into the problem instead of immediately telling me I needed the most expensive repair. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, kept me informed throughout the process, and got my Camaro repaired and back on the road. John and Jonathan genuinely seem to care about their customers and doing the job right. After all the stress I had been dealing with trying to get my car fixed, it was a huge relief finding a transmission shop I could trust. Great customer service, honest people, and quality work. I'll definitely be coming back to El Monte Transmission for any future transmission needs. Thank you John, Jonathan, and the whole team! Highly recommend!

The cost was fair, not inflated - and the service was exceptional. If you need any transmission work, THIS IS YOUR SHOP. 10/10. If I could give these guys more stars, I would. I spoke with a gentleman named Manny over the phone who quoted me $1200 - $1400 (The lowest price Id heard). Manny took the time to explain everything they would do and an estimate. Naturally I stroll on over there and drop my car off. To my surprise, the price included a shift kit and a 1 yr, 12,000 mile warranty. Cant beat that. I'll get my car back in a few days so I will update with the results. They have great customer service tho, Hard to find. Update: 7/10/2015 Just went by to check on the progress of my trans rebuild. To my pleasant surprise they had my trans out and all the bad parts laid out for analysis. They had replaced all the bad parts with newer stronger heat resistant ones (Band and clutches). Upgraded the servo and replaced the torque converter. He said it would be done tonight or tomorrow. Cant wait to test drive. I'll update again after i pick it up. I'm incredibly impressed with the service these folks have provided me. He really walked me thru every part and showed me where the trans failed, what parts he replaced and what upgrades he made. I'm annoying and I know it. I call daily to check up on my car cuz I've been burned in the past. Classic Transmission is a class act and an A+ rated shop in my opinion. Their knowledge and service deserve more than a 5 star yelp review, but this is the least I can do. Thank you gentleman. Update: 7/13/2015 Picked up my car this morning and boy ol' boy am I a happy customer. car shifts firmer than ever before. Manny did a great job on the rebuild. Shift points are perfect for me. Not so harsh it snaps my neck but I can feel the quicker shifts. The TransGo Shift kit Manny put in was just right. The rebuild came with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Its only day one, but I'm pleased and impressed with the work. I'd recommend them to anyone needing trans work in the San Gabriel Valley. Very reasonable. great customer service, FAST service!!! The car was driving fine except during traffic so I had to bring it back in to get the full rebuild. It costed around $3k but I paid $2k since I got the $1k credited back.
