Tina, thank you so much for helping me with my acne journey for the past two years. We have been through so much together and you supported me through all the emotions that came along with it. I know you genuinely care about me and that helped me trust the process even more. I seriously only trust you when doing my skin care. You will not catch me in a Sephora lol when I had acne I was embarsssed to be seen, I really wanted to give up so many times but we finally got through it and I'm feeling alot more confident in my skin. Thank you; love you

I've been a Pebu client for over 10 years and although I cannot afford a monthly schedule with the owner, Tina, I do NOT go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my skincare, as I do with Tina at Pebu. I do not use Groupons or try new places. This is my go-to place and there are many reasons why. #1) TIna is a skin care specialist meaning she does not offer cookie cutter facials for the masses. She believes that everyone's skin is different and she will speak with you and analyze your skin to determine the best type of facial ingredients for you at that time. This is definitely not a "one size fits all" type of establishment and over the 10 years I have been seeing Tina, I appreciate this especially as I get older and my skin needs change. #2) Tina uses the finest quality ingredients and offers product at wholesale cost; there is no ridiculous mark-up for high-demand items that you would find cost and arm, and a leg and an eye at places like Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom. Her facial prices are also in line with other facial places like Aveda and Heaven on Earth. This is not the place where you go for a bargain facial. You pay good money and you get excellent high quality service in return. #3) Tina has great energy. She has a calm and peaceful disposition that is welcoming and relaxing. She never makes you feel uncomfortable or uneasy. Her location is quite the hidden gem that is both unique and quaint, making you feel right at home. Her mom is also there to assist in phone calls and paperwork and this makes for a great atmosphere that is based on customized intimate attention and not just an in-and-out factory. You will also receive a cool and refreshing beverage and cookie after each session. I have taken both my sisters to Tina at Pebu for facials and both sisters (early twenties and late twenties in age) have both agreed with me that Tina is by far the best skin care specialist on Oahu. Pebu is located in the same building as Pizza Hut on Kapahulu and parking is a small open lot where you pay $2 for 2 hours in the money slot box. Her shop faces Kapahulu, in a two story building walk up. Leave some time to find her place and park since it is kind of tricky to locate your first time there. After you get it down, it's a breeze to find and park.

I like this place. I have done three facials here. I love the products that she used. My skin looks much better than before. I think you can learn the best way to take care your face at home with Tina. Highly recommend this place.

What I enjoyed: The therapists were very professional and respectful of our preferences. They sent a questionnaire ahead of time to understand what we wanted, and when I emailed with some additional requests, they were able to accommodate everything, which I really appreciated. The massage room itself was beautiful, with a big bathtub for a coconut bath after the treatment and its own bathroom. The amenities were great too: snacks, drinks, fruits, a dry sauna, steam sauna, and a waiting lounge overlooking the ocean with lay-down chairs. The lounge wasn't busy at all, and you could easily spend an hour there relaxing. Booking was easy via email and the staff was very responsive. Valet parking is included. What could've been better: The jacuzzi was out of order during our visit, and I wasn't informed ahead of time. I had to ask for a prorated rate, and the person checking us out initially didn't want to give the discount until their manager stepped in. For a big hotel-affiliated spa, I expected better communication and consistency on something like this. The showers also ran out of bath products (either shampoo or body wash), and the locker area was missing some amenities I'd expect at this price point, like makeup remover and skincare beyond generic body lotion. I also had trouble getting a receipt with my name on it initially, though they eventually sent one. One other thing to note: the spa is right above the hotel beach and pool area, so you can hear people rather than just ocean waves or spa music. It didn't bother me too much, but it's something to be aware of if you're expecting total tranquility. Despite these issues, it was still a wonderful experience and I'd recommend it for a special occasion!

I had a wonderful massage experience at Uilani Spa from the moment I walked in. Everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. I was greeted with a refreshing hot towel for my hands and given a consent form to complete. Then I was escorted to the women's locker room with a bathrobe and slippers, where i changed and stored my belongings in a complimentary locker. Afterwards, I relaxed in a quiet, dimly lit lounge until my massage therapist, Yumiko, retrieved me. She expertly honed in on my problem areas before she began working on me. My shoulders were very tight and in pain while she worked on them. I heard my spine pop a few times. It's that moment of "Ahh..." when the pockets of tension you didn't know about are released and you wonder how much you were low grade suffering in daily life without realizing. I signed up for the lomi lomi massage, which I've never had before. I'm not sure if the hot towel treatment is part of every massage they do here but it's a nice touch that helps undo the knots. It's like Uilani thought of every little thing to help you relax beyond the massage itself. The massage cot can be adjusted to a seated position, which is how my massage ended. It's like they're easing you back into being vertical again. The experience continues: You go back to the lounge where you sip iced tea and eat a small crunchy snack before you leisurely make your way back to the locker room for a hot shower. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, a blow dryer, Q-tips... all provided for you. You're not rushed to pay and get out. This place is about 50% more than another place where i had a one year membership, but all the little touches they use to enhance your relaxation and enjoyment make the experience so relaxing. You didn't just get a massage, you got a full relaxing experience.

The Alana location has a nicer ambiance overall, but the Hobron location has soothing vibes once inside as well. Have been coming here since 2020. Initially I saw Jackie, but sadly (for me), she moved (but congrats to her on taking some big steps in her life and career *heart*). Since then, I've been seeing Mel, the owner, for regular sports/deep tissue massage. She always makes sure to check in regarding how my body is feeling, specific areas to focus on or avoid, etc before having me disrobe. She does a great job of addressing my areas of concern as she progresses through the massage. Her firm pressure, attention to trigger points, and thorough technique always leave me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated whether I'm dealing with surfing soreness/injury or office worker related tightness. If you're looking for a therapeutic massage, this is the place to go!

I booked the Makaloa Special Treatment and was absolutely not disappointed. I'd never had a body wrap before or a hair treatment or a facial treatment like that and I feel like this is what luxury feels like. I'm already a fan of a full body scrub, the wrap had me smelling like strawberry pop tarts in the best way, the face mask was interesting because it was quite cool going on like a gel and the solidified, then she pealed it off, my skin all over is so incredibly soft. It's a really good value for the price. 10/10 recommend!

I was honestly blown away by both the service and the amenities. I did the basic scrub package, which came out to around $100 total including the $50 entrance fee, and it was absolutely worth it. The entrance gives access to all the spa amenities including the charcoal sauna, red clay sauna, steam sauna, dry sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge tub. I came in around 10 AM without an appointment and they were still able to accommodate me for an 11:30 scrub, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend making an appointment though, especially if you're planning on getting a scrub or package service. I was able to experience all of the amenities, and for most of the saunas I actually had the rooms to myself, which made the experience feel even more relaxing and peaceful. Honestly, this would make a perfect solo date or even such a great girls' day activity. My scrub was done by Young, and she was amazing. She made me feel comfortable the entire time, maintained eye contact while speaking with me, was very personable, and provided such attentive service. You can tell she genuinely cares about making clients feel at ease. This was actually my second Korean spa experience in Honolulu, and honestly, the other one doesn't even compare to this level of cleanliness, service, and overall atmosphere. The only minor thing that made me slightly uncomfortable was during checkout while I was tipping -- another worker or possibly co-owner was standing directly behind me, and I wasn't sure if she was looking at the screen. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it was the only moment that felt a little awkward. Other than that, my experience was amazing from start to finish. Definitely worth the visit, and I could easily see myself coming back monthly.

It had been sealed before and peeled open, and it was wrinkled. My thought was that I hope the tip made it to Young in full. They have a nice garden in the front. They sell food, but I didn't try it. I ordered a coffee, which I was able to sip on after being in the steam rooms and hot spa. I would have given a 5 star based on the service and young alone, but the used envelope kept me from doing that.

FACILITY: There's a utilitarian wet sauna (e.g., no aromatherapy), dry sauna, and hot & cold pools inside; a small lounge area is outside with what appears to be a jacuzzi. I say "appears" because I just happened to notice the jets. There was no sign identifying it or explaining how to turn it on. The wet sauna was off and there was no sign explaining how to turn that on, either. PERSONAL AMENITIES: You're given a nice robe and one towel. I was only told to bring a bathing suit, so I was expecting disposal spa slippers. Nope. I had to walk everywhere barefooted, including the locker area where people (naturally) had walked in their outside shoes. Ugh. You could pick up a small tube of hand/body lotion, a small shaving kit (disposable razor & tube of generic shaving cream) and/or a small vanity kit (tiny nail file, cotton swabs & cotton pad) at the sinks. There were no snacks or even drinking water available unless you had a massage -- then you were given a bottle of water when it was over. MASSAGE: This is the first time I thought to myself, while getting a massage, "This woman could easily kill me with her bare hands!" Her hands were that strong. She'd asked me if I wanted my massage "hard" or "soft," and I replied, "medium, and we'll see how that goes." Well, it went very painfully at times -- I had to tell her repeatedly to go softer. It's a week later and my shoulders still hurt with certain movements. SERVICE: The receptionist (the only person always onsite; the masseusses and such are called in when needed) was not very gracious when I asked her how to turn on the wet sauna and only reluctantly went back and did it ... so I didn't bother to request her help to use the jacuzzi. Clear communication, in general, was lacking. For one, I was told on the phone that a bathing suit was necessary for the saunas, but once I got there, was told I could choose to just wear a towel. I've read the other reviews, and I see that they offer a kamaaina discount. No one told me that, even though I said at multiple points (on the phone and onsite) that I lived in the neighborhood. BOTTOM LINE: I'll try some other day spa next time I want to pamper myself.
