The chirashi bowl was delicious, it is nicely made with fresh sashimi, shrimp and lumps of crab. It is just enough for a quick meal. They have a lot of food choices. The service was excellent. The place is beautiful and the bar is very clean and open. I recommend visiting this place if you want a relaxing experience.

Pretty good sushi spot! The scallop roll we ordered was not good though, everything else was pretty solid though. I really enjoyed the poke tower, hamachi appetizer, crispy rice appetizer, salmon avocado, negitoro, tekka mango. Fish was quality was really fresh and good. Pricey spot but what spot isn't in SF nowadays. The price justifies the I'd go back though and maybe try the preset menu, my friend got it and it looked like a great deal. The service was kinda meh, they took really long to take our orders and seemed to neglect us a bit. I liked the upscale and loungey vibe of the spot. I'd probably come back!

Ozumo is a great spot for a business happy hour or dinner. They have the bar up front and more restaurant-style seating in the back of the restaurant. Conveniently located in the embarcadero. Appetizers and sushi rolls were all fresh. We had the following: - chicken kaarage - garlic edamame - agedashi tofu - miso cod - hamachi appetizer - eggplant Restaurant is nice and modern and service was really nice.

We were here with a large group of 20 people and we had an enjoyable evening, but a couple of the dishes didn't live up to expectations however. The niku maki (wagyu with spinach) wasn't a favourite - I found the spinach to be overpowering. The black cod dish, which was sold to us as 'what they are known for' wasn't great. We ordered two of them and the dishes looked very different to each other, one of the cods was much more charred than the other. The sauce for both looked different too, which was interesting. But we did love the dohyo (spicy tuna tartare), the glazed edamame had an amazing smell to it and tasted just as good. The fried chicken was also a winner. The service was excellent for such a big group at a busy time and we didn't spend any time waiting around. We would come back, but would probably try some of the other dishes.

Came here with my friend for lunch on a Monday and got seated right away. We each ordered the ume nigiri assortment and a scallop roll to share. The nigiri were all good but the scallop roll was the star of the show. Scallop and avocado were both buttery and melt in your mouth. Service took a while since they forgot we ordered the scallop roll after serving us the nigiri. Prices are what you would expect. If you are in the area and craving Japanese sushi, this is a good spot. A lot of business folks come here to eat since it's quiet and a nice restaurant located by the water.

Went here on Tuesday for the first time and it was very good. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Our reservation was at 7 and almost all the tables and seats at the bar were taken. We stayed there for almost 2 hours and after 8 it started to clear out. When I say it was busy I had to raise my voice just to talk to the person right next to me. We got a table in the very back where you could see the Bay Bridge and the piers. We ordered multiple things off the menu. Our favorites were the unagi (eel) sashimi, the wagyu roll and the tuna cones. Least favorites were the Buritori Nigiri (yellowtail belly) and the crispy rice. I ordered the crispy rice because I seen other people on here ordered it but to me it was just hard rice with warm tuna tartare Overall it was a good meal and good atmosphere but most of the items on here you can get at any sushi restaurant for half the price and it's just as good. It was $14 for 2 pieces of sushi when you can get a whole roll for $16. I love sushi but there's a point where it can only be so good. I think the bill came out to be about $190 for 2 people. We were full by the end of the meal but we had to keep ordering more to get there. I would probably come back for happy hour if I'm in the area and craving sushi

Absolutely incredible! Food was amazing and it didn't feel like I needed to refinance my mortgage to pay the bill! The Gindara (Black Cod) was amazing !

Lobster roll is delicious, and the scallops are divine. The hotate rolls were very on point. The vibe is lovely and the service was unmatched. This place has been here for over 20 years and it does not disappoint. We got a seat right away but the place was packed so we got lucky. I would make reservations if you can.

we tried the sushi tasting and it was okay, but I'm not a huge fish fan so maybe I should've not ordered that. Some were better than the other but the hand roll was very good so I would order that by itself again! we also had cocktails and they were so good! overall I think it was good and the restaurant was pretty but I don't think I would go again.

Ryan served us at the bar and he was fabulous he came through with the recommendations. Let me tell you about the Kani korokke which was a star it was this little perfectly fried breaded ball filled with crab meat and a few kernels of corn. Then the hand rolls both the ebi tempura and the spicy toro were amazing the dumplings huh I could do without. Get the spicy Tokyo Vice we were stuffed m. Ryan was so on it and assisted with recommendations and made sure to check on us frequently. That all day happy hour on Fridays is something to definitely check into.

Came to ozumo for lunch on a Monday with coworkers. Was not crowded and we were seated instantly. Service was very attentive. We got a few rolls to share as well as a bunch of nigiri. I thought the nigiri was very good, fish was very fresh. Sushi rolls were good too, nothing crazy. My favorites were the salmon trio (nigiri) and the ozumo roll. In my opinion the rolls were a bit too expensive for the quality, but still very good. Would eat here again!

I went there on Saturday night for my friend's birthday dinner party. The restaurant is big and busy. I love the cool interior designs incorporate with Japan elements. We ordered few appetizers, sushi rolls and sakes. Appetizers were delicious and I love the sauce that came with it. I also had Ozumo sushi rolls and it's in good size and delicious. However, the service was not consistent and also confusing. Some of the people in our group received either wrong food or no food. Some got food very early and some had no food. There were also other issues with sake selection. Another issue is restaurant being so big and busy, they only have couple restroom available. We had to wait in line for the restroom. Overall I think the restaurant has cool vibe. Food was good but it would be a much better dining experience if they can improve their service and have more restroom available for women. I have to gave compliments to the female restaurant manager who came to us and try to make things better for us.

The food at Ozumo was absolutely delicious. It's a shame the Santana Row location near us went downhill, otherwise we'd still be dining there often. This time, we stopped in before a Giants game and enjoyed a sake tasting flight along with a dozen other dishes--everything was fantastic. The vibe was chill and, being a Wednesday night, the restaurant was pretty quiet. Our server was sweet and the runners were all on point. Thank you for a fabulous meal--definitely a million times better than ballpark food. We'll need to come back more often!

We called to ask about a walk-ins, and they told us they could get us a spot in 20 minutes on a Saturday at ~7:45 p.m. We had: - Scallop skewers: 5/5, I've never had scallop skewers this good. So creamy, juicy, and tender - Uni toast: 5/5, perfect ratio between the toast and the uni. The toast was super soft. It just paired really well with all the other ingredients. Seasoned also perfectly - Heavenly salmon roll: 5/5, before eating this, we were so skeptical because we saw imitation crab which usually overpowers everything but WOW. It just paired so perfectly. - Snow mountain roll: 5/5, love the acidity on this. - Okaeri donburi: 4/5, felt like too much rice for the ingredients that were on it, but still enjoyed it. The level of execution and attention to detail on some of these dishes was insane. It's so rare that places nail so many dishes. I cannot wait to go back!!! Still dreaming of this meal.

The first time I came here, I got the strawberry matcha latte with my friends. We ordered it via delivery on DoorDash, and I'm not sure if it's just the whole delivery part, but I could not taste any part of the strawberry! It just tasted like regular cream on top. Typically I'm more of a coffee person than matcha, so I'm not a great judge in whether this was good matcha or not. But I guess it did taste ok in my opinion. The funny thing is, my coworker also said the same thing when she ordered the strawberry matcha latte a separate time! Disappointing. A separate time, we also ordered from them via delivery. This time I was eager to try their food items instead, since they have a pretty interesting selection, like those cake sandwiches and various Japanese items. I got the spam masubi, which I thought would be a solid choice. It did arrive warm, but the slice of spam that was in the masubi was so thin! It was the thinnest piece of spam I had ever gotten, and I've gotten spam masubis at a variety of places including ABC stores and other places in Hawaii, and even various stores in the States. The rice was okay, some brown rice thing with seasoning, that was decent but not my preferred white rice. Overall my two times here have been disappointing. I will really never line up for this place in person, nor will I understand why people do.

The space has such a strong first impression--polished, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, with the feel of a boutique hotel café tucked into the city. Our drinks were ready in about five minutes, and every single one was excellent. You can tell Shoji puts real intention into the drink program--the flavors were balanced, the presentation was beautiful, and everything felt elevated without being overdone. It is the kind of place where even a simple coffee or matcha feels special. I also loved that there are different areas to enjoy depending on your mood. The back patio is bright, open, and beautifully lit, making it a great spot to sit and relax. Inside, the darker, more intimate seating area has a cozy, quiet, almost hidden-gem feeling that would be perfect for a date or a slower morning coffee. The contrast between the quick-service front and the more atmospheric seating areas makes the whole place feel very well thought out. Shoji is easily one of the best coffee experiences I've had in San Francisco. I'm honestly surprised there isn't already more than one location, because this concept could be a huge hit throughout the city. Great service, beautiful design, fast execution, and truly exceptional drinks. We will absolutely be back.

What we ordered: + San Ten Mori (assorted sashimi) [4/5]: The highlight of our meal was the yuzu wasabi that came with the salmon + amberjack in this set. It was sooo delicious and spicy. The fish were plated beautifully, and the quality was pretty good. + Shungiku Kama Sarada (chrysanthemum greens & duck breast) [6/5 - would recommend]: WOW. I was so pleasantly surprised by how fresh, crunchy, and acidic this salad was. The greens are amazing. On top of that, the duck breast was so tender and delicious-- I just wish the dish came with a few more slices. + Chicken Oyster [4/5]: I really loved how juicy this was. I normally don't like chicken because of how dry it is, but this was a great skewer. I wish the skin was a little less burnt. The chicken was also so thick that while the outside was juicy, the inside was a little drier. + King Trumpet [4/5]: Wow! These looked amazing when they arrived. I thought the flavor was great but the texture was a bit rubbery. + Kama Tama Udon (carbonara) [4.5/5]: Delicious! I couldn't stop eating this udon slathered in amazing thick sauce. + Chiizu Tori Katsu [4/5]: This was sooo good. I wish the cheese ratio was 3x as much, but the flavor and tenderness of the katsu is delicious.
