Who could complain or worry about a thing when roaming rows of olive and pomegranate trees? I appreciate Rhumb Line's selective for drought tolerant crops, and their organic methods. Even in the winter when the lavender isn't in bloom and the vines are dormant, the farm is gorgeous. Every aspect of the settling and experience is carefully selected and detailed. When the cafe was closed we made our own meals in the well appointed kitchen in the suite! They make all kinds of culinary, home, and body care products with plants from their farm. I felt lucky to enjoy them. Stellar experience.

The huts may conjure up a rustic vision in your mind, but you will be more than happily surprised by the thoughtfully designed and beautifully and artfully decorated Quonset Huts. Each of the two huts as two bedrooms and two baths, two small refrigerators, microwaves, toaster ovens and gas grills. Each unit is equipped with music and there is a fun fire pit with seating for seven between the huts. The owners live on property down the road and to say that they are delightful and kind is an understatement! We will definitely be back for another relaxing trip to their farm...hopefully when the lavender is in full bloom!

From the first minute we drove onto the ranch it had the most incredible feel to it. Great way to turn back the clock to the old west. The casitas were very homey and all the amenities were there except a TV. But that's ok because there's so much to see and do, not only on the ranch, but also in the surrounding areas. Perfect location to relax and reconnect. To Mona, who manages the place, we never expected to feel so welcome but you made us feel like family from day 1. To Scott, best meals I've ever had sir! We'd come back just for your cooking! To Michelle, we never wanted for anything the whole time with you taking care of us! To Don, what a fantastic trail ride. All the extra info made it all that extra special. Not to mention the girls loved that they got to help with the horses. And to Nick, Thank you for allowing us all to be a part of your days. To all the staff , we hated having to leave and go back home and very much want to return asap. We all miss you! To all the people who left bad reviews in the past.... I'm wondering how the staff would've rated YOU.

As we drove toward Dragoon, all of a sudden the scenery shifted to one of a bouldered landscape. Each rock as if it had been picked up by a giant and then gently balanced on top of another. It was surreal and reminded us of a movie set from Lost in Space. Come to find out, it was the site of a filming of the 1957 movie "3:10 to Yuma." This is a Dude Ranch with several amenities. We chose a site with water and electric only, but there are other sites with full hook-ups. There is a pristine "COLD" water pool and a full restaurant and bar that is open only during peak seasons. There is free WiFi, bunkhouse "motel" rooms, casitas and cottages as well. To call this place "other-worldly" would be close, but it was absolutely magical. So dark at night, you could actually see the Milky Way and peer into a universe far far away. Luminaries such as President John F. Kennedy, General John J. Pershing, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and others have visited and stayed at this unique location. Our only wish was that we had more than just an overnighted. We'd definitely like to return.

All hotels in Benson AZ (on the I-10 exit to Tombstone) were booked. We were so disappointed, it was 9 or 9:30 and we were ready for a break. It's a pretty sparse area, hotel-wise, and we were too far ahead of Tucson (about an hour) to turn back. I googled hotels within 30 miles and found a few in Willcox. Rose's is advertised as a 1950's style motel upgraded to modern standards. If you enjoy small business lodging rather than national brands, this is the place for you. We just needed a place for the night and his place seemed homey and welcoming. So I called, and they had 1 room left. We took it! Glad we did. It wasn't necessarily less expensive than a national brand, but the room was very clean and upgraded with a laminate floor and fresh light blue decor including painted walls, welcoming artwork and modern curtains -- kind of a nautical motif. The bathroom featured a tile shower (lots of hot water!), new sink/toilet, clean towels. Microwave/fridge, but no coffeemaker (that's OK, we aren't coffee people). The staff was friendly and helpful; they did not have a free breakfast like many of the national brands, but they did offer us bottled water. Rose's Motel is not visible from I-10; you have to drive thru town to find it. Granted it put us an hour away from Tombstone but we didn't mind that. We were just glad to have a nice, quiet, cozy, comfy place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. If we're in the area again we will definitely seek this place out!

I was a little surprised they didn't do anything to make up for it but honestly the rest of the stay there was really nice. The are strict on shutting down the pool and hot tub at 8 pm sharp! The restaurant while a bit high especially on drinks was so good! The things in the KOA store were a little higher than Walmart but most are. The internet was around 75Mb/30Mb and extremely stable even at the back side of the park. On our stay the next time on the way back the young girl got us a little better spot closer to the laundry and showers for our trouble the first time with the water. I would highly recommend this spot if you need a KOA for an RV.

Very high on my list of places i can't wait to visit again...This 49,000 acre preserve, managed by…read morethe Nature Conservancy, offers overnight accommodations in a remote, peaceful setting. Be forewarned this is NOT a full service hotel and there is a very long list of rules/guidelines for staying here which are strictly enforced. Reservations are required WAY in advance if you hope to get a casita here, and the ranch is closed to visitors during the hot summer months due to rattlesnake activity. But (if you are still reading...) if you are pretty self sufficient, willing to pack in all of the food and drink for your stay (the nearest safeway will be an hour away down a dark, pothole filled dirt road) and in search of a rare respite completely immersed in the natural beauty of southern Arizona, then this place is well worth the journey. Muleshoe Ranch is located at the southern end of a 50 mile riparian nature preserve, at the convergence of three rivers in the Galiuro mountains. You can climb mountains, explore the terrain, hike through shady riverbeds or do all of the above in a single day. Your self guided adventures can range from an easy nature trail to a half day loop (Beth Woodin Trail, which is spectacular) or a 4 wheel drive expedition into the backcountry. The landscape changes with the seasons and at night there's some of the best stargazing you'll find anywhere. Wildlife abounds, and includes many species of hummingbirds as well as elusive troops of ring tailed coatimundi. Wildflowers are abundant in the springtime and the streambeds teem with life. The casitas (actually 4 casitas round a grassy courtyard) and a little stone house down the hill are available for overnight rental. Very comfortable accommodations with beds and fully equipped kitchens. Some of the casitas have a living/dining room area with futon sofas that convert into additional sleeping accommodations. There are plenty of little outdoor seating areas to rest and relax. There is an outdoor deck for stargazing and wildlife viewing, as well as a common room for socializing with other guests. Nearby there is a visitor center and a small gift shop which are open to day visitors during limited hours. The icing on the cake are the two outdoor natural spring fed hot (very hot!) tubs crafted from round galvanized cattle troughs, which are only available to overnight guests. Before or after a strenuous day of hiking they are heavenly! Be sure to visit the Nature Conservancy/Muleshoe website and read through all of the details about a stay at Muleshoe to decide whether it's right for you. It is a very special place off of the beaten path of tourist travel.
