This is an older hotel when you look at it from both the exterior and interior of the building. When you enter the lobby, it's very dark and there's a smell. The bathroom kept flooding after every shower so the floors were constantly wet. The staff was friendly and was able to give me extra towels for the pool. The pool had a ton of leaves. The pool house didn't have towels and had trash everywhere. The parking lot felt safe as long as you parked near the entrance. There is a Tesla charger in the parking lot. They offer free breakfast daily starting at 6am. They had your typical muffins, cinnamon rolls, bagels, fruit, yogurts, milk, etc. Overall, it was an okay place to rest our heads on a road trip but I felt like I paid too much for a sub par hotel. read more

I'm absolutely appalled with the cleanliness of this room ( 238) handicapped room. The carpet had stains all over and my feet stuck to it also smelled horrible and looked like it hadn't been shampooed in months. The bathtub was a little bit dirty, the shower head fell off the holder because it was broken and was fixed with duct tape and almost hit me in the head....the walls are dirty because they are painted with a flat paint not semigloss like they should be ( especially in the bathroom, this is paint 101...I was so tired that I didn't want to move and or complain and well I shouldn't have to..I was the food &beverage supervisor at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as well as the beverage manager at "Babys night club in LAs Vegas and guess what? If you don't have customers you don't have a business....There is someone sitting at some computer playing games and pretending that they are doing their job as a regional manager... when I went to the front desk and complained they were aware of the situation in the room and had told me that it was gonna be remodeled soon.... so basically they gave me a room that they knew was in disarray, dysfunctional, and unsafe....unbelievable unbelievable business practices especially in a room that was intended for handicapped people..please see attached photos... however the young man cooking the food in the kitchen area was extremely courteous. Pretty much the standard fare for a Holiday Inn. Helpful staff. Clean enough, comfy beds, half broken gym, great breakfast spread (with lots of white flour & sugar!) the only downside is everything is wearing down a bit. I stayed in a room with two queen size beds, and a smoke alarm flashed all night long. But putting a hand towel over my head helped block that out lol. The main reason I chose to stay here when there were other choices about half the price was they have a good breakfast selection, and they also have a jam. read more

I was looking forward to taking a hot shower and crashing after hiking all day at nearby Chiricahua National Monument. We arrived to check in at 6:00PM but was told our room was not ready yet. This was on a Sunday. Note: check in is at 3:00PM. We were able to check in about 40 min later. The room was clean but dated and worn (see pic of desk chair). Our room was on the same side as the freeway but we couldn't hear it over the HVAC unit. There are Tesla chargers in the parking lot. We heard vacuuming until 9pm. What!? For the price and quality of the room I would not recommend this hotel. read more

Impressed! It's rare that I give 5 stars but after a great check-in, a comfy clean room, decent breakfast offerings I was impressed. I like the large bottles fixed to the wall in the shower (Dove) very convenient. The beds, pillows and linens were very nice. The only downside is that the room wasn't very spacious, not a big deal for us staying only one night. If we were going to be there for multiple days this may have been an issue. read more

There are limited choices if you have to stay in Wilcox and this is likely your nicest option. But don't expect much. The staff was good, especially Obie in maintenance, the house keeping team and the wonderful woman who runs the breakfast (she works hard and is so pleasant). However, the hotel is dumpy and needs work. A lot is broken and the carpets are gross. Our key in the door didn't work for more than a day and they said they were having issues with it before (so why not fix it?). They replaced the unit on our second day of not being able to enter without trying 12 times. There was no chair in the room or place to sit, other than the desk chair. The volume on the TV didn't work, it was stuck on one setting. Things are old and grubby. read more

We had an adventurous experience in AZ and ended up in this little town after like 9-11 hours of driving from CA. We needed to spend the night and selected this hotel instead of one of the really shady looking motels in town. Check in was painless. Masks were required and worn by staff as well as patrons. We got our keys quickly, recommendations for where to find chargers at 11pm, where we could get the truck serviced and menus for a complimentary breakfast in the morning. The room was quite comfortable with a fridge, a coffee maker, and a flat screen tv. We didn't expect much in this small town but felt secure and comfy in this room. In the morning, our breakfast orders were fulfilled by a woman in full PPE. With a little salt and Tapatio the blandish food was better. The coffee was good and I can confidently say they're looking out after your health with cleaning procedures, masks and distancing. I do not expect to ever come to this town again but it's probably the only hotel you'd be comfortable in. read more

Beat up old hotel. Tonight they are sold out but it appears they don't put any money back into the property. I was told, "thanks for being a Platinum member, would you like a free amenity or points?" Best hotel in Wilcox. Wilcox is east of Tucson, close to New Mexico off I-10. I spent a night here on the day before I visited Chiricahua National Monument. Arriving late, front desk staff was very friendly. It was a Thanksgiving Day but no complaints from him for working on that day, but he was just really friendly. Room itself was very clean, they have a fridge and microwave, kept my water cool. Nothing really to write home about, just standard amenities. Not too bad for just one night. Nothing really around here, except perhaps one diner nearby, good to arrive after dinner somewhere else. Breakfast is included, basic standard express hotel type food. Staff was chatty and friendly. She just love to talk. So close to Chiricahua, I was able to get there early to enjoy a hike there. So this hotel served its purpose. read more

On a long drive cross country from San Diego to Jacksonville, FL this place was Nirvana. The woman working the front desk was so lovely! It was after midnight, I was freezing and dog tired but she was a bright spot. The room was everything I could have asked for (and a little more actually). The room was spacious and immaculately clean. I felt instantly at home. Breakfast and wifi was top-notch too. If I have to drive cross the country again I hope I pass by this place! read more

Front desk was extremely rude. We came in late at night just trying to sleep for the night after a long drive to wake up and continue for another long day of driving home. Customer service was definitely lacking. Older lady with glasses and missing teeth just nit picked everything. She wanted so much information down to the license plate to our car after walking inside she stopped us and said she did not know we had three children??? And made a huge deal which I understand the policy but we had a baby sleeping it was sooo cold and my other two toddlers one which was crying and gagging. I certainly do not appreciate the way things were handled my child ended up puking in the lobby all because she couldn't just call the room and add on the third child I guess. She had us there with a child in arm wrestling with bags and puking children for the sake of updating the room and scolding us about the fire Marshall policy. Restroom in our room was dirty shower had dirt all in it. We paid 180 for the suite which was honestly a rip off and ridiculously over prized for the type of experience we had with this room and the customer service. At breakfast everything wa armory bread was dry and stale. Pancake machine did not work and employee did not know how to work it. So disappointed read more

We chose Holiday Inn Express while traveling across country from Georgia to Yuma Arizona I wish I had taken a picture of our room when we arrived. The beds were changed but bedspreads were in a bunch on top of the beds. I overlooked that since we checked in at 4 pm and had to wait for the room to be ready. The girl at the desk was very nice, however she quoted me it would be an extra $10.00 for our dog and was charged $20.00. When you stay at chain motels you expect the same quality at each of them and was not disappointed until this one. This one is like going back to the 60's but paying a 2022 price. Very antiquated to say the least you have to unplug something to plug in anything, including the bedside lamp if you want to charge your phone. And you will need to keep your phone handy because the clock does not work. Washcloths are frayed. Hair on the bathroom floor, shower head sprays on the wall and water goes everywhere, and a nice bug in the bathtub to greet you. The hallway carpet is freyed and my husband tripped on it. Come on it's time for some updated furniture and fixtures. This place is comparable to an old motel 6 and old super 8. I say old because the new remodeled motel 6 and super 8 is likely in much better shape. Corporate needs to take a look at this one because it's giving all the other Holiday Inn's a bad name. It's telling customers you cannot expect quality from them across the board. read more

Check on was smooth after talking to them on the phone. Room was clean and pretty roomy. Bathroom is a good size. So far bed is fine but I don't care at this point. Does have a fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Breakfast has a good selection I'll update about that. Thank you ladies for making a very stressful night a little less stressful. read more

We stayed here two nights while visiting the area. Upon entering, there was a hand sanitizer station next to the check in desk, which had a glass partition separating us from the attendants. Check in was simple and efficient, the room was clean, the staff friendly. We appreciated that they offered a hot breakfast. Pre-covid19, they had a breakfast buffet with numerous options. Now they have you fill out a form the day before and mark what items you would like each day. In the morning you go down to the dining room and masked and gloved staff will find your ticket and put your meal together. You can get it to go or for eat in. We chose to eat in the dining room where tables were appropriately distanced and hand sanitizer available. The options included most of the old favorites--egg dishes, breakfast meats, pastries, milk, coffee, juice, yogurt, cereals. The outdoor pool was open, but we did not use it. The fitness center was closed due to covid19 restrictions. Our only complaint would be the stairwells, which were kind of dirty looking, and having only one small elevator. They had several luggage carts which we used to transport our items to and from our room on the third floor. read more

Arrived at the hotel at 8:30pm exhausted from a long day of travel. No luggage carts to be found. Had to schlep 6 bulky bags up to our room. I mean seriously?! No luggage carts to be found anywhere? Not a good start. Once in the room, I pulled back the sheets to find a bug in the bed! Not a good start. While the HVAC unit does produce ice cold AC, it is unbearably loud, which is ok I guess if you dont mind sleeping next to what sounds like a high powered vacuum cleaner. The hotel is depressing and dated and the room has an unpleasant odor. Do yourself a favor and take a room at the Arizona Sunset Inn on Haskell Avenue We will not be coming back here. read more

Worst night ever! We were given room 237, it is next door to their 'boiler room'. It hummed High, it hummed low, it hums all night long. The elevator is in the middle of the hotel, you can hear it from there. I brought the front desk clerk up to here the noises, he said it should not be like that and he'll have maintenance look into it. Here I am at 03:00 and I am driving my daughter-in-law and infant grandson to see their husband/father graduate from BMT. I specifically asked them yesterday not to put me in a noisy room next to an elevator or stairway. Great job to the young woman I spoke to yesterday at about 14:00. When I checked in I asked about the internet reliability. The clerk said it can be spotty if I have a problem I can call their 800 support line, at which I laughed and said No, I will not call for support for your hotel's internet. What this means to me. Now that I have slept about three hours, I have to get us up and out of here. I am a senior driving them and my daughter-in-law doesn't drive. We will get to our next destination early and will not be able to check in, so we will sit in the lobby until we can check in. This is the hospitality industry. I asked for a quite room. This stay was/is completely unacceptable for a hotel. read more

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Willcox on business. I grew up in Willcox and always stayed at the Super 8 when I go home to visit family. The Holiday Inn Express is the newest hotel in town and for Willcox, it's top notch! I give it five stars for cleanliness, comfort, and location. The free wi-fi and continental breakfast make this my home-away-from-home now. The best part of the breakfast was they actually serve eggs and bacon, or sausage and not just donuts, muffins, and cereal. There is a business center downstairs in the lobby and the front desk attendants were friendly and most helpful in setting up my rewards account! If you are traveling through town or need to stay a few days, this is by far the best place in town I've seen in awhile. read more

I bet we found the best place to stay in Willcox, the Holiday Inn Express, after reading reviews here for all area hotels. We're Marriot fans,but I'd say this hotel stay was as nice or better experience than we've had at some of the Marriott chains. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, the mattress Devine, room was furnished like a Courtyard, everything was clean and had a fresh look. Maybe it was recently redecorated. The breakfast during this quarantine time was handled creatively. The parking lot accommodated our truck and trailer rig, and had room to turn around. If we ever travel across country again, we would definitely stay here! read more

We decided to get away for a day and traveled to Wilcox, AZ. A few days before this trip, we made a reservation at this Holiday Inn Express. This Holiday Inn had a great inviting look as we drove up. It looked very clean and well kept. At the front desk, Susan assisted us. When she asked for our license plate number, I opened the photos in my iPhone. It's not that I have thousand of photos on it--making it hard to find what I needed. Susan suggested a great idea--on my iPhone, list my vehicle as a phone contact with the photo of the license plate. So easy and no one else ever thought of this! Three cheers for Susan!!! The rooms were very clean with no known issues. We are not fans of hotel free breakfasts but this one was better. As items were taken, they were replaced. No issues here either. This location has a small gym with lots of equipment. There is an outside swimming pool available. I would suggest staying here when you visit Wilcox, AZ. Since we were here on Sunday, most restaurants are closed. Susan suggested Double S Steakhouse. Again Susan picked a winner. We had lunch & dinner there. We would stay here again when we are in the area. read more

Train horn all night long. We slept horribly. I am surprised rooms aren't discounted for this inconvenience. We are driving to Texas and being woken up every hour or so is terrible when you need to have a good nights sleep. Rooms were clean but felt like we slept in our car because of trains. Next time we will skip Willcox if this is the best they have to offer. read more

Nice and clean. Great value. They offer military discounts and I "think" AAA discounts as well. Free breakfast is nicer than most. Usually consists of bagels, toast, English muffins, mini muffins, eggs, bacon or sausage, yogurt, four different cereals, pancakes, biscuits, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, milks, etc. Rooms are around $80-90 a night with out the discount. read more

A room right by the elevator on the second floor made it convenient to take the dogs out for a potty break. Quiet and close to quick food. Would stay again. read more
