Still the best quality sushi in the area but my most recent visit on Valentine's Day, holy shit. Waited 2 hours for my table of 2's food. Absolutely ridiculous. Everyone at their tables were complaining too and they were even holding up DoorDash drivers. After the long wait I finally cracked and made the lady who appeared to be running the place (every other time a man was running the place and the experience was excellent... interesting) make it a takeout order because at this point it was almost 9:00. A half hour to 45 mins later she finally says our food was ready. A lot of the food was seen sitting by the register from when I initially complained. I sincerely regret that I paid cash, I should have charged it to my Amex card and initiate a chargeback refund. I asked the woman if there was a way I could get a discount for waiting 2 hours and she simply said 'No, we very busy we very busy.' She then took my cash and said 'thank you have a good night' and she was hoping I'd forget to ask for change but luckily I'd be damned if she got a tip so obviously I made her give me my $2.50 in change. It only takes like 5 minutes to cook nooders? I don't see what the big hubbub was about. Long story short, I paid $45 for Oyako Sushi to ruin me and my girlfriend's valentine's day dinner. There are so many better ways to go about busy nights than say 'No we are very busy.' Perhaps cut off seating until you're caught up, warning people of the long wait, offering comp'd meals or discounts. This experience completely ruined my view on this restaurant and I do not think I will ever step foot again. They do not care about their customers. read more

Their rolls are big and beautiful. I've only got it once and am hoping to leave an updated review once I try them again. It was overall very good but the rice was no good on my sushi rolls. It was dry and crumbly, the rice grains would fall off as you pick up the sushi rolls. Something wasn't right with it... Consistently good and fresh food! It is prepared quickly. The roles are large, but not over stuffed with rice. The owners are kind and always happy to see you when you come in. I love the refreshingly fresh Ness of the sushi... I would not say that the hibachi is particularly, good... But most of the time we are interested in the sushi anyway. read more

We did the all you can eat sushi and it was actually good! The rolls were large, lots of filling and rice - they didn't seem to skimp on the fish, sauce, or anything. You order 2 rolls to start and then 1 roll after that at a time. I'm surprised how good it was! We waited maybe 5-10 minutes between rolls and we didn't feel like that was a long wait at all. There were 3 other groups of people there with 4-5 people in each group. The rolls that stood out to us most were Green Jade and volcano. Green Jade has no rice and is wrapped with cucumber and I LOVED it. Also, we liked the York roll, 3619 East roll, and Oyako roll (we had 10 rolls total but these were the ones we loved most)! There was 1 roll I didn't care for and it was tropical inferno because they use smoked salmon instead of fresh so it tastes very ocean-y. I blame myself though because I know I don't like smoked salmon. Highly recommend trying them out! read more

I did not expect to find ayce sushi in the middle of Pennsylvania. I'm from Maryland, and came up to the York area to catch up with a couple of friends. They recommended this place...and it does not disappoint. It's a simple, unpretentious, family run restaurant, which adds to its charm. The DMV area has its share of ayce sushi places, but this one is different in that it is by roll, each roll is made to order, and the food is fresh (vs being laid out on a tray all day as is typical of ayce joints). They also have the typical selection of Japanese foods and rolls a la carte. The way it works is like this: There is a menu of rolls (about 50), and upon the first order, select any 2 of them. When you're finished with the first 2, the waiter/waitress will come and take your next request off the list (only 1 at a time). Keep going until you can't go anymore! While you might not get a variety of sushi at once, the rolls are pretty good quality and it's a good amount of food. I can't really recommend what to try as this was my first time, but the Rock'n Roll (Spicy tuna roll in tempura), TNT (Tuna, white fish, salmon and avocado battered in tempura w. spicy sauce), and Volcano Roll (Tempura lobster tail w. cucumber, lettuce and mixed w. masago and tobiko) were all pretty good (the presentation on the Volcano Roll was great!) Wasabi and Ginger only come with the first order, but if you need more you can always ask for it at no charge. Closed on Sundays, they have different prices for weekends v. weekdays. As I was visiting on Saturday, the bill came out to just around $23.00 pre tip, which to me is a steal for good sushi rolls. I'd definitely come again if I'm in the area! read more

We went to Oyako today for a New Year's Day lunch. Unfortunately, the place was empty besides us. And this was truly a shame, because the food was fantastic. We were originally going to go there for the $18.99 per person all you can eat sushi special, but instead, we got their $19.95 per person New Years Day special. Our waitress was very friendly, and she took our order quickly, and our food arrived fast. Also, our hot teas were never empty. We both started out with Miso soup, which was probably the most flavorful Miso soup I've ever had. We then shared an appetizer of Grilled Scallops and Crab. I'm not sure where the name for this dish came from, because the food didn't appear to be grilled, but that was fine, because it was delicious. It was pieces of crab and scallop mixed together in a spicy sauce, and served on top of tempura sweet potato slices. We then shared 4 specialty rolls. We had the Volcano Roll, Lobster Tempura Roll, Ocean Medley Roll, and Crab Ichiban Roll. The volcano roll was displayed as a small volcano mountain on a plate with strips of crab meat "flowing" down the mountain like lava. The other rolls were just as beautifully displayed. The sushi was not only very tasty, but they were small visual pieces of art on the plates. We then finished off lunch with an order of Tempura Bananas. Slices of tempura friend bananas topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Overall, the place was very clean, the staff very friendly, the food not only looked great, but tasted great, and the price was just right. All of the food listed above cost us a little over $40. Quite a bargain for what we got. I just hope that Oyako Sushi isn't always as empty as it was today, because I would hate to see such a wonderful place not succeed in this area. read more

I absolutely love this sushi restaurant! On Monday -Thursday you can get all you can eat fresh sushi and soup or salad for $19.95 p.p or $20.95 on the weekends. I absolutely love their rolls, especially the volcano rolls and we take everyone there for dinner! They are always super friendly and accommodating. We went there New Year's Eve once and they were super slammed so the service was a bit slow but that was also the busiest I've ever seen them. I don't think anything will ever stop us from coming here for our sushi loving needs and I hope they stick around for a LONG LONG time! read more

I've been to most of the sushi places here in York and can confidently say this is the best sushi I've had so far. The 3619 East Roll, the York Roll, the Volcano Roll, and the Shaky Dog are a must try!!! Not only is the sushi good but the staff is very hospitable and friendly. True they were not very busy, but i feel that Yelp filtering reviews may have contributed to this. Usually I'm reluctant to try places with lower star averages on here, especially places tucked away in the creepy, depressing Food Lion shopping center. But a buddy of mine insisted this place was great, so I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. I ordered The Pink Lady and the Catalonia rolls. Both contained deliciously fresh, melt-in-your mouth fish, probably some of the better quality I've had in YoCo. Overall, the rolls had a great rice to other ingredients ratio and were pretty darned tasty. The only qualm I had was with assembly: the rice in my Pink Lady roll was a little too sticky, and a few pieces got stuck to my plate and subsequently fell apart as I fought with my chopsticks to pick them up. Can't say I've encountered that before. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time since the sushi was yummy. That's the most important thing, after all. Service was friendly and efficient. I managed to be in and on to my appointment in less than 30 minutes, but I was also there at a very quiet time of day. PS: They have all-you-can-eat sushi for $19. Passing through York on business, stopped here based on strong Yelp reviews. It doesn't look like much from the outside, as it sits in a shopping center, and it's pretty pedestrian inside as well, but it's actually really good. They have an all-you-can-eat deal that a lot of other patrons were getting, but I just ordered off the menu. Seaweed salad, Alaska Tuna Roll, Wasabi Salmon Roll, and Sea Singer roll. Everything was delicious, and service was prompt and courteous. I can't compare this to any of York's other sushi places, but I'd definitely recommend this one. read more

I'll start with the good. It's cheap. Probably the best prices around. The sushi is pretty good, especially the rolls. Very tasty and good sized. However, it's horribly slow. I think deliberately slow, as well. I tried twice and had the exact same experience both times. I order a sashimi platter, and the person with me gets the all-you-can eat rolls. You can only order two rolls initially, then one at a time after. However, after the first roll, they won't come back to check on you. Then the roll doesn't arrive for 20-30 minutes. They clearly want the customer to get tired of waiting and not order more. Great way to lose customers. The second time here, a Friday, all the customers began going to the counter to order because the waitress wouldn't return. Some left without paying. I fear they won't be here long unless they get their act together. The first time my sashimi was good. Large pieces, excellent value. Same the second time, except they weren't as clean. I had to pick skin / scales off, etc. I'll go elsewhere and pay more in the future. read more
