    They now have chicken curry.

Still a really nice buffet. If you go around lunchtime and dinner time, you always get hot fresh food. Not quite so fresh. In the slow time but that's expected at a buffet. I love their chicken curry

The service was great, we got seated right away. I noted that I loved the placard of drinks available put on the table since normally you never know what drinks buffets have. The selection of food and stock was great! They really do have everything you can think of, and everything was full and hot. Every bite I took I audibly went "wow this is so good" and that's rare for me at a buffet style restaurant, I feel like there's usually 1 or 2 misses among the hits. They were quick to take our empty plates away and refill drinks. The only reason this is not a 5/5 was because it was a smidge pricier than the other competitors. For 2 people for dinner it was $45.00

The atmosphere here used to be great! Staff was pleasant and eager to please you. All you can eat sushi was a huge plus b/c we love sushi. This time around, we went for my daughter's birthday, 12/28/24. We were seated right by the sushi bar. The lady behind the counter at the sushi bar was watching every single thing I took. She circled our table numerous times, lingering, and gave us all dead eyed stares. I decided I didn't want to eat the rice on a particular type of sushi b/c it was mainly all rice and nothing else, and flavorless. Upon seeing this the lady behind the counter rushed over to the new manager. (I think his name was Edward?) and he came and very kindly, but loudly and embarrassingly told us that it was wasteful and a waste of labor for his staff to make the rolls just for me not to eat the rice. Keep in mind, this is an ALL YOU CAN EAT PLACE. He stated that if I wanted sashimi (I didn't even know what that was at the time) then all I had to do was ask. Mind you there's no signs. The woman behind the sushi counter was never there, or when she was there she was eating behind the bar so I didn't want to ask her anything. I did initially ask her for eel sauce and she didn't speak English. So in reality how was I supposed to converse with her anyhow?! The remainder of the meal she was STARING at me. So much so that it made ALL of us uncomfortable. I wasn't aware that I'd done anything wrong. I've been coming here for YEARS. Probably 10+. And honestly we used to come here maybe 8-10x a year but I will absolutely NEVER come here again. It was rude, embarrassing, the food isn't even all that great for the price. It's expensive as hell now. Don't come here if you don't an ant to be judged for what you eat. When we s/w the manager on the way out he apologized and said he would put up a sign for future patrons so they knew about it. He also offered to discount our meal next time we came. But we're never ever going back. Bunch of judgmental a-holes.

If your thinking of coming here, don't. I called ahead to see if they had crab legs, they said they did. But once we got there, we were told they didn't have any. We found a long hair in the green beans. I ended up only eating the pineapple cake the whole time because everything either looked, smelled or tasted bad. And some of the sushi was blue..

One of the better visits I've had. There are definitely much better food selections on the dinner buffet than lunch which makes sense since dinner is more expensive. I will say, we felt like an inconvenience to the servers because we asked to sit at a table rather than a booth.

CRITCAL INFO: Dinner 14.99, drink not included The GOOD: decor, quality of food 4 price, friendly attentive staff The BAD: Lack of covid precautions (though staff does wear masks and buffet stations are clean) I was pleasently surprised by the York Buffet. The rich red walls and artwork were welcoming. For 14.99, the food quality was quite good. It was fresh with good taste - highly recommend the chicken curry and wood fired steak. Avoid salad bar, it's very generic and steals room for the good stuff. It loses a star because although the staff was masked, patrons are permitted to go up to the buffet unmasked, and it can get very busy. The biggest problem was no disposable gloves for tong touching. Everyone touching the same tongs in this climate is not safe. There is just no way to know who is vaccinated and who isnt. I had a great experience but until the pandemic is crushed, I highly recommend the restaurant mandate masks for the buffet, and provide cheap, disposible gloves for the serving tongs - 4 stars, B

Me & my husband split a combo boil 2lbs snow crab legs & 1 lb clams, we added extra corn and got a side of hush puppies. We chose the Cajun sauce and made it medium- delicious and a nice kick! They do provide bibs, gloves & wet napkins for easy cleanup. We had a young lady as our waitress, very friendly & took good care of us. The restaurant is nicely decorated & there is plenty of seating - they also offer a big round table for larger parties. Also, if you have kids - not to worry , there are chicken fingers on the menu along with fries. Overall, enjoyed our meal & will be back in the future.

On par with most seafood boil places in regards to price. Nice being able to choose your flavor and how spicy you would like it! Lemon pepper wings were very good, the wings were HUGE! The hush puppies were okay, they were served with Butter. They were not the best part of the meal. Overall we would love to go back sometime! Great seafood boil! It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

After speaking with the girl there and letting her know I was in the mood for soft shell crabs she smiled and brought out a fresh bunch of them that just came in this morning. I picked the 2 biggest and she made me a delicious old school soft shell crab sandwich on toast with tartar. Next time I come I will probably try some fried fish. The only thing negative I can say is the salads didn't look very fresh but I didn't eat them so can't comment on taste. The service was great. I will return to this place for sure.
