I ordered Chinese food for the first time in a while. Unfortunately take out food from impeeial garden was horrible. My husband and i got sick after eating. We threw the order away. $51.00. I.will never get food from them again. So disappointed!!! read more

Well, the Jell-O was pretty good. Everything else was just ok. I don't want to be harsh on this restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and I did not have to wait to be seated for dinner on a Wednesday night. However, it wasn't a great choice for a meal. Keep in mind that this is a buffet. So, my expectations were not very high to begin with. Even so, I felt the entree and desert choices were limited. Much of the food that was on the hot table appeared to have been there for a long time. Several of the more popular entrees were empty, and the staff was slow to replenish them. Its not that they were inattentive. Rather, there was a delay in getting any more of the entrees cooked up. Since most of the tables were empty in the restaurant, I suspect that the chef was hesitant to cook up much more without any real feeling that more diners would be coming in. Pros: - Friendly staff. - Clean dining room. - Moderate pricing. - No wait to be seated. Cons: - Limited selection of entrees and deserts. - Several entrees ran out and were not replaced before I left. - Much of the food looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. - The food had a "canned" taste to it, rather than something that was custom made. - Few choices for kids who don't like Chinese food. Bottom Line: If I lived locally, I would not be going back anytime soon. Even though the staff was great, and I wish them the very best, the food left a lot to be desired. It beats sitting at a McDonalds, and there were no delays in getting seated. For me, this is a soft pass. read more

So this was my "go to" place for Chinese buffet." In YORK County. I love their peanut butter chicken (if other buffets would offer this I might frequent them more). That is the major reason why I came here (that and the sugar coated peanuts). However, in our recent visit for dinner, the food wasn't as good. The hot and sour soup tasted ok but had a different smell (not gthat I am used to (I didn't get sick so that is good). I would also offer to the owners to add pork to their hot and sour soup like other restaurants. The green beans didn't have much flavor and the fried fish wasn't very good. My wife said the food was ok but the donuts were hard and not warm. Honestly, I was disappointed since everyone knows I came here the most of all Chinese restaurants. I hope the owners read this and just look at what is going on to improve. I would love to come back (and will) to check again. But that might be the last if the food doesn't improve. So I came back and it was better. The food seemed to improve. Just one minor complaint was the wasabi was not fresh (it wasn't at all potent so couldn't have been fresh). Typical selection of asian buffet entrees as you would expect. Nothing here seems to be a unique chef specialty. No beef entrees included in the buffet at the time of my visit. Crispy fried meats such as Tso chicken and pepper chicken were overcooked or sat under heat lamps, as they were inedible hard pieces of greasy breading with hardly any visible meat. Sorry guys, you need to re-evaluate what you are serving. read more

This is a small but decent Chinese buffet located on the south side of York by the South York Theater. The place always seems clean and the food is fresh. The selection is not that great but it is pretty small. I like their General Tso's chicken and also am a fan of their potstickers. Service is pretty good too. It is my favorite Chinese buffet in York and I have tried them all. Definitely a step above in my opinion. read more

Went here tonight for dinner with a MeetUp group and I must say for being a Chinese Buffet I was pleasantly surprised. First of all you couldn't beat the price of the "all you can eat" for $10.50. They would bring out small amounts to refill the buffet so everything was always fresh. The General Tso Chicken was perfect...just enough heat to it. The peanut chicken was super delish and well everything I tried was puuuurty darn good! I would go back here again. Yummo! read more

As average Chinese take-aways go I thought Guo's Imperial Gourment was worth mentioning (for the price which is like any other quick wok) to those local who want something to take home. We all get take-away now and again and the one thing I like about this place is that it's packed full of veggies (the shrimp and broccoli is very nice, I ask for it in garlic sauce and the general tso is very tasty as well) and the sauces aren't greasy and flavorless like some places. I mean we have all had that one terrible Chinese takeaway where it almost eats its way out the bag before you get it in the front door, not to mention the smell left in your car for weeks.. This place also have a buffet which is nothing special and I tend to never dine in but the staff is friendly and when I ask for specialty sauces or substitutes they are move than willing to whip something together. So if you want a nice boxes meal to take home when this Chinese local is for you. read more

Aroma Buffet I would highly recommend but not this buffet. Our 15 year old grandson ate with his coat on while his teeth chattered and lips were purple as were the other 3 of us experienced the same. The food is so, so and with the Artic temperatures the hot food became cold food very quickly. We only go to Aroma Buffet from now on and non other. No more restaurant hoping for us. read more

We used to love coming here all the time. Within the last month they changed management completely and the food is nowhere near as good. Service is worse and my mom actually got food poisoning eating there this past week. Very disappointed in the downgrade and will not be going back. Don't recommend it to anyone. read more

My wife and I took some friends out to dinner last night to Imperial Gourmet. It was our first time eating here but was highly recommended to us by some people, so we figured we would check it for ourselves. The food was both delicious and plentiful. The service was good. One of the worst chinese buffets I've been in for a long time. Fairly busy Sunday dinner crowd yet everything was cold, dried, crustedly unappealing and nearly empty. Okay, so the food is standard issue American-Chinese buffet, not very good. The only highlight was the mongolian beef. However, we were driving through town and got confused when we got off the interstate and did this instead of fast food. Best Chinese buffet in the area. Not a huge selection (if you are into the Americanized jumbo-buffets, you might not like this) but the dishes were fresh, hot, and authentic, which is what we require. We have been on a quest to find a good Chinese buffet since we moved to the area a couple months ago, and this was by far the best of the four or five we tried. Aroma Buffet was a distant second. York buffet was icky, and China Buffet was downright disgusting and probably would have gotten shut down if the code officer was there when we were. read more

I was there Sat for a late lunch, Was 1 maybe 2 tables with people when we came in towards end of lunch, got Only Lunch item's off buffet, lots of people came in as my guest finished her plate, she went back up & got more Lunch items on plate, when we got bill we were charged for dinner not lunch, I know I'm a very slow eater, but I don't think you should be charged for dinner, when we ate no dinner item's, just because your finishing eating (only one plate) just after lunch is over. Never had this happen before. They didn't bring out (until after my Guest went back for 2nd small amt. of lunch food) till later, a lot of fresh item's (assuming dinner item's) for the many other's there that came in after us, But we only ate of the Lunch stuff that had been sitting there (with little in pan's & getting dry cause no-one there yet), No dinner item's.
