We weren't aware this is primarily a take-out place so since we were ready to eat there, we sat at one of about 8 tables. We ordered at the counter and our food came out to the table quickly. DH's hot and sour soup was a large bowl (plastic take out container) and it was chock full of vegetables and tofu. He loved it. My wonton soup was good and had 2 wonton but no roast pork. I missed that. Each came with a baggie of very good crispy fried noodles. I ordered roast pork with vegetables. It was good and plentiful and came with a large portion of fried rice. The veggies were fresh and tasty. I thought it needed more sauce but it was good. DH ordered sweet and sour chicken. It was the star of the meal. Fresh , tender white meat chicken pieces fried to perfection in a very tasty batter. They came with a delicious sweet and sour sauce served in a separate container. Lots of fried rice with the chicken. Only criticism is that the sauce was not warm. We decided to take home another dish to go with our leftovers. We got boneless ribs, one of my favorites. It was very good with a very generous portion of rice and pork in a sweet sauce. The meat was tender but I'd have liked more sauce. We bought the lunch specials and with the specials you can get soup for an additional modest charge. The prices are right. The hot and sour soup and sweet and sour chicken were solid 5s. The roast pork, vegetables and wonton were a 3.5. The boneless ribs were a solid 4. So I averaged all to 4 stars. I think I'd take home rather than eat there. The lady who cooked and served was very nice. I'd go again next time I'm in that end of town. read more

So good .. We always stop by GREEN GARDEN for take-out when we are hungry for their bourbon chicken & Singapore Mei fun. They make the BEST in town ! You will be greeted with a smile at the counter upon entering the restaurant...They package generous portions in your takeout order, which gives my husband another meal. The restaurant is always clean, and there are appx. 8 tables for those who prefer to eat in. My wife and I went to the Green Garden for the first time. Overall, the food was OK. The woman behind the counter was very helpful and very supportive and the service was good. We had chicken with garlic sauce and General Tso's chicken. We also had hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was just OK in my opinion. There are other places that have much better hot and sour soup. The entrees were again just OK. This is more of a takeout place even though it does have a few chairs. But all of the silverware and plates are Styrofoam. Not that that's an issue. Just wanted to state that for your information. If you want a higher end experience, I would suggest Viet Thai or Wild Ginger. read more

Food and service were very good last time this time I asked for tender broccoli and white meat chicken for the general Tao dish the chicken was hard and stringy ruined my appetite but fried rice was very good so I guess my dog enjoyed the general Tao chicken read more

Dined in and it was wonderful! Extremely responsive and the meal was on point! Ordered General Tso's chicken meal; came with fried rice and egg-roll. Servings were huge! Wasn't just big chunks of chicken- it was served as actual bite size pieces, and it was very tasty! Service was excellent and the staff very nice people. One meal fed me three times over. We ordered takeout from here on a Friday evening. The wait was only 25 minutes which wasn't bad for a weekend. My sister recommended the General Tsos so my husband ordered a large size with pork fried rice and I ordered the Chicken and Cashew Nut with pork fried rice in a small which is considered a combo, including an egg roll. My sister recommended the small due to how big the portions were and she was not wrong! My container was packed to the brim with rice and chicken, carrots and celery. My husband had a that same container packed with chicken and broccoli only with a separate container of rice. We did not even make a dent in our food, giving us leftovers for two additional meals. The General Tsos was super crispy on the outside yet tender internally with a very tasty sauce. My Chicken dish was pretty good although I was hoping for more of a variety of vegetables- still good nonetheless. And though not an egg roll person, these were decent. This is the only Chinese takeout worth ordering in York. Their lo mein, Kung Po, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, fried dumplings, and hot&sour soup are amazing. Nothing I've had was bland or overly greasy. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant itself is very clean. If you're looking for familiar takeout Chinese and large portions this is the place in York. Seriously don't even bother trying anywhere else, I did the work for you. read more

I've ordered takeout from here twice. With so many Chinese restaurants I've ordered from over the years so many offer up minimal customer service. I get a welcoming vibe from here from the phone order itself to the pick up of the food. They also give estimated ready time for food. I usually order shrimp with broccoli in garlic sauce and an order of shrimp egg foo young. Food has been consistent and good. It's not the closest to me, but when in that part of town and want Chinese I'd hit them up! read more

If your going to review a restaurant and gave a one star, the least you should do is list the meal you ordered and the what was tasteless.

The restaurant was very clean including the bathroom. I ordered steamed chicken & broccoli & my friend had General Tso. Both meals were excellent & large portions. The only downside was that we ate in the restaurant but our food was served in carry out containers. read more

Four of us went to Green Garden for the 1st time. All of us loved the food - we'll be back for sure. They spent time explaining each dish and they asked each of us how spicy we wanted each of our orders to be. It was made to order! The portions were nice sized. Two of us couldn't eat all of our food. The people couldn't have been any nicer or friendlier. The lobby was clean and airy. We eat chinese food weekly and this was terrific. Fresh and very flavorful. We had General Tsao's, fried tofu and mixed vegetables, sweet and sour chicken, and garlic chicken. You can't go wrong here. Give them a try. read more
