Oh Chopsticks, by far my favorite all around Chinese food in York! Great prices for big portions, always a fast turn around time and just yummy food! The spicy vegetable lo mein is always hot and delicious and filled with veggies! Sweet and sour chicken is never too crispy- just the right consistency and the sauce is great, the hot and sour soup and wonton soup always have great flavor as well! The cashier was in the kitchen preparing the food orders. She was not wearing gloves. The person processing credit cards and money should not be allowed to prepare food for the customers, I also noticed a cook placing chicken into a fryer with his bare hands. I had a Take-out lunch since there is no Dine-in at this Restaurant. We ordered the General Tso Chicken from the Lunch menu. We also ordered Pork fried rice and a small Shrimp Lo Mein. Egg rolls were included with our entree. The food was very good with generous portions. Service was good , but it would've been nice to dine in. Location is a bit different due to traffic. I liked the beef broccoli! yummy! the dining space was super clean... but we were the only ones there. *sigh* I think everyone orders for pick up. And their egg drop soup... it had a more odd asian flavor than a yummy flavor. *sigh* It was a thick consomme (almost gelatinous) with delicate egg ribbons in it. I didnt super like the fried rice that came with the dish. it just looked like it was drenched in some sort of oyster or soy sauce. It tasted fine, but... I didnt think it was the super bestest. Hmm. Not particularly impressed. The parking lot was so empty that we thought that they were closed, at first. Entered the dining room and it was absolutely freezing cold, probably in the low 60's. The food was reasonably priced but there was nothing special about it. The wonton soup was about the most flavorless broth and doughiest noodles I've had. The kung pao chicken was drowned in sauce. My mother's chicken with snow peas was pretty decent, though the sauce was very thick like gravy. Definitely better options around, even in York. read more

Food is so good, if youre from Puerto Rico, the rice its soo similar to theirs. Cheap prices too, they only have take out at the moment.

The food is actually really good. Excellent, in fact. The service on the other hand is pretty crap. Our server tried to walk away without taking my order, having taken the orders of the other three people at the table (I was sitting right at the end of the table). Our food was brought out in trickles over the course of an hour. We asked for tea, which never showed up. Our drinks were not refilled until the check came. This place is great. The service is amazing, the food always tastes good and there is a ton of stuff on their menu. They also have really good lunch and dinner specials ranging for $5-9 for soup, main dish and rice. One thing to remember it is cash only, so don't plan on charging this meal. There also is no delivery only eat in or pick up. But the dining room is cute and clean so you will want to come in. read more

So far, I would say this is the best Chinese restaurant that we have tried in York. The food is flavorful and the portions generous. We have eaten in China, so this is definitely Americanized food, but it was very good. The veggies are fresh and crispy, and the meat and seafood taste fresh as well. This was the first time here, because we were a little nervous after reading some early reviews, and our experience at another York Chinese restaurant was disastrous. Absolutely positively terrible flavorless food !!! Even the hot oil I asked for had no flavor. This spices must be unbelievably old.Thankfully the ground pepper on the table had a bit of flavor. I ordered a something called the jaybo chicken... Awful I wish I could give it no stars !!! To add to this miserable lunch selection, the very young waitress cashier had absolutely no personality less flavor than the food..she didn't even have the common sense to bring a glass of water for offer tea or a beverage of any type. We were in town for the Jurassic quest expo and decided to stop here for dinner and so glad we did. The food came out fast and was delicious I haven't had this good of Chinese food in a long time. Lived by here for two years. Always a go to option for takeout when you are in a bind. I was initially hesitant because of the name, but takeout has always been solid and prices are good. I typically get chicken lo mein or chicken with broccoli. My girlfriend has gotten a number of seafood dishes and always enjoyed them. read more

This has for the past 4 years been my preferred chinese place for take out. Today I went there and ate in. The woman working there was not friendly at all but whatever, you get what you get when you sit at a place that I'm sure mainly does take out. But I must say, I was completely displeased with my experience today. I got the chicken and broccoli lunch special which was alright as it usually is. But we also ordered the steamed dumplings. I would not recommend them, they're terrible. Way too doughy and the filling isn't even good. We split one and realized we weren't going to eat them. We got our bill and I told her that we didn't like them, so she took them away. So I went to the counter and asked her to take them off our bill. She said you ordered them not me, it's not my fault, you have to pay for them. I tried to argue the fact that we didnt like them and didn't even eat them. She responds with something along the lines of you have to pay for them or I pay for them? You ordered you pay. She was rude. Ridiculous customer service. Probably won't ever go back. read more

This place used to be a very high quality Chinese food restaurant. They are not very convenient location, do not deliver, and only except cash, but it it worth it. They'd use fresh and authentic vegitables such as chinese mushrooms, spring peas, water chestnuts, and what I think were Wolfberries along with your typical American vegetables. But ever since the economy started going south, so has the quality. The fried rice is especially disapointing where it used to have little cubes of pork and seaweed and other bits of vegee in it, now it's just slightly greasy and brown. read more

Chopsticks has been my favorite Chinese food for many years. The staff have been there since I've been going there (over 16 years). I have tried many other Chinese food restaurants in the surrounding areas and even moved an hour away and still could not find anything comparable to them. I actually started driving the hour to get to them. The wonton soup broth varies by the day and I prefer when it is slightly spicier, the wontons are flavorful and delicious. They serve crunchy noodles and tea when you dine in and they make their own duck sauce which is delicious. My favorite dish is the roast pork lo mein and I have not found lo mein ANYWHERE that is like theirs. SO delicious. The fried rice is delicious and does not have carrots and peas in it which makes it WAY better in my opinion. I love their main dishes and the service is great. We eat there twice a month minimum because it's absolutely delicious and we love the ladies here. Chopsticks is hidden gem in York! read more

The reason for the 2 stars is the attitude of the staff, not the food. Our waitress got highly ticked off because I asked her what kind of vegetables came in a few of the different dishes. I only like certain vegetables, so I wanted to make my selection based off of that, since the menu offers no description of the dishes. She huffed and puffed and actually walked away and another waitress had to take over. Completey rude service. Other than that, the food was good. We have been going there for about 20 years and through 3 or 4 different owners. We have been very pleased with the service, cleanliness, quality of products used for different dishes, willingness to take suggestions in many areas and prep of many dishes. There are a few things I wouldn't recommend, such as the egg rolls and wonton soup. I love the egg drop soup and the shrimp they use in many dishes are big and flavorful. Having several Asian friends and having eaten in several Canadian restaurants that had first generation Asian chefs, I recognize the cooking at Chopsticks has been somewhat Americanized. That's okay with me, because there are other options available, if I want. It's a very nice little diner-style Asian restaurant. read more
