I posted 5 Star review and saw thanks from Jeff D. It was all good until promises to customer were broke. I was charged double on Tax, License and Registration Fees when I bought brand new Mazda CX-5. I was charged almost $800, when I should have been $400. I was promised in writing $400 refund in 10 business days, ie 2.5 week. When I reached out for Status on 10th business days, I was told we're still working on it and no fixed date for refund. This message is for Josh the owner. We purchased a car on 3/5 from Tim who gave us the wrong spare key that belonged to someone else. Last week, Conner told us that the other driver was going to deliver the key, but nothing came of it. We have been trying to work with Tim, Conner, and Jorge the sales manager, but 9 days later, there is no key. Why after all this time have they not picked up the keys themselves? Today, I was told that they created a label to get the key shipped, but not told the estimated delivery date. How do I know they are telling the truth? I asked to speak with you, but apparently the message didn't get through. I expressed concern about that person could have made a copy of our key by now. They said the other person also express the same concern. Yet, they didn't do enough to try to rectify the situation or express remorse for putting us through such angst. This situation really projects that Oxnard Mazada does not care about their customers. As long as you get the money, there is nothing we can do about it! read more

After a horrible experience at Honda dealership (terrible customer service),we decided to go across the street to Mazda and check out their cars . We were immediately greeted by Ivan who was extremely helpful. He wasn't pushy at all and really listened to our needs. We were there to buy our daughter her first car. He even offered to let us keep the car overnight to test drive it for 24 hours. Ivan was knowledgeable about every model of Mazda cars and we ended up buying her a car before leaving the showroom! The next day they had the car delivered in the color our daughter wanted! Will be a repeat customer for sure! One other note, we were going to check out Subaru cars as well, but didn't feel the need after dealing with Ivan at Mazda and the owner of the dealership afterwards. We just purchased a 2022 Mazda CX5 Premium trim from family owned Oxnard Mazda and couldn't have wished for a better buying experience. Martin our sales person and Josh the owner made our purchase way less stressful than we ever could have expected. They responded to our calls and e-mails in a timely manner. We never felt pressure to buy or add on options/accessories we didn't need just to increase the price. The initial offer was very fair and there was no haggling back and forth making it easy to accept. Martin was very knowledgeable of the car's features/options and very patient in showing and explaining them to us both during the initial visit and when we took delivery. Martin also took time to help set up the Mazda app on our iPhone which was very helpful. The buying experience was made very efficient and pleasant. All of the closing forms were sent to us Fed Ex along with a return Fed Ex envelope eliminating traveling back and forth. I would highly recommend Oxnard Mazda. This will most likely be our last car purchase but if the need should arise we will not hesitate to return to Oxnard Mazda. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed. We have purchased two brand new vehicles from Oxnard Mazda in the last 3 years. When we decided to purchase our second new vehicle in December 2023, it was a no brainer for us to use Oxnard Mazda because we had gotten such great service previously and had a family member who had just purchased with a good experience. We soon found out they were under new ownership but the salesman, Cesar, seemed really nice and willing to help. He even offered a $100 referral check to a family member who referred us back after having a pleasant experience themselves. Now, we didn't ask for the referral bonus, it was offered. We verified multiple times that day and we were told that it was already in the paperwork, and our family member would need to return in 15 days to receive the check. Cool. Well, when we went to the financing department shortly after, we found out our military discount was never added to our purchase, and we spoke about it several times with Cesar! The finance manager did a great job making sure to change the paperwork and get us the discount. He was truly amazing. However, the problems didn't stop there. Caesar had also promised to obtain weather mats for our new car, but upon making the sale, did not follow through. Time passed and our family member was unable to obtain the bonus. They went back repeatedly trying to figure everything out. 3 months later, someone finally gave them a little gas and called it quits. My issue is with the sales staff only. Clearly they say anything to make a sale, and honestly didn't have to do that with us. Does it just come natural to lie to customers? Three strikes for the sales team at Oxnard Mazda! 1. A failed promise to give a bonus, 2. A failed promise for a military discount, and 3. A failed promise for floor mats. It seems simple doesn't it? But it really makes you see what kind of people you are dealing with. I was willing to let the other stuff go, but after seeing how insane the situation got for a $100 bonus on a $45,000 purchase, I couldn't remain silent. read more

They did routine maintenance to my car. I take excellent care of my car so when I get it back I realized it was washed when I did not ask for a wash, neither was i asked. My car clearly has a sign on the windshield saying DO NOT WASH. So if you want extra things being done to your car without being asked, & your boundaries ignored- then feel free to go here. I went in to have my windshield diagnosed because I thought it was rattling and there was a whistling noise every time I drove over 50 mph. Troy and Robert were both super helpful. They realized it was coming from one of my roof rails because it was a little loose. They tightened it up and covered where the air that was coming in creating the whistle! Robert drove with us on the freeway to make sure the noise was gone and offered a couple options if it came back. He even washed my car for me! Buyer beware if I could give less than a one star I would. The car that my daughter bought was a 2020 Mazda CX five. When we got home we noticed a dent on the top of the car roof. I called the dealership, they said " Well you should've seen it to begin with, so too bad basically" I said she paid for this car with her own money. You could've pointed out the dent on the top of the car. They basically laughed at me. I asked if they could fix it. I will call you back every time I called they said they'd call me back. Both managers said this, then I talked to the district sales manager and he was sure he was going to call me back, he never called me back. I made a total of 10 phone calls and all I got was the runaround and no one ever called me back. When we bought the car, the salesman knew nothing about the car, he couldn't explain to me, any of the options. I would never ever recommend this dealership to anyone. In fact, I bought a brand new Mazda myself two months later, and went to Westlake, which I do recommend. All they wanted from this place is your money, they will give you no service. They don't know anything about the cars and they are horrible. I don't know how they're still in business. read more

At 72 I'm not new to the car buying experience. It's right up there with paying taxes or having a root canal. You need to enter the showroom ready to do battle, negotiating is always ruthless and sometime you just walk away. However my most recent experience with Oxnard Mazda was quite the opposite. It's the first time in my life I felt a dealer actually subscribed to "Customer Centric Service". Customer centric approach theorizes customer first as their mission statement. This philosophy of shared values followed through to every one that I engaged with from the deal, to paper work, delivery, and yes even purchasing accessories in the parts department. It soon became apparent that my satisfaction was paramount at Oxnard Mazda. I love the brand now I also love my local dealer, how refreshing. Very professional, clean dealership, as they should be. So why the 2 stars? For starters, I pretty much only go to a dealership to get oem parts, I definitely don't like anyone touching my cars for maintenance, except in very rare circumstances. The times I've purchased parts from Oxnard Mazda have been perfectly fine, and I will continue to buy parts from them. I do have an ND Miata that is past warranty but has an issue with an AC metal line that has cracked. This is an issue which many ND owners on the Miata.net forum have dealt with, and some of them more than once. I called and spoke with a gentlemen from the service center and he starts off with the fact they can't help me (regarding the warranty) and tells me to schedule a diagnostic. I proceed to tell him that I've done my own diagnostic and have lost refrigerant from the exact line in the exact spot as called out in the referenced service bulletin. He basically tells me (in a nice way of course!) that they don't take customer's advise and need to see it for themselves, because like a doctor to a patient, the doctor doesn't go off of what the patient says. Yes, he tells me this. Glad they have car doctors on site! For one bud, I'm not going into surgery, and two, I do all of my own modifications and repairs. All I wanted to know was IF my AC compressor line is cracked PER THE BULLETIN, how much is it going to cost? I started with that, and had to fight with him to get him to comply with this simple request. He was extremely reluctant to even give me the benefit of the doubt and give me an estimate on the repair.. That's all I want to know.. I really gotta prove myself to you that I have some bit of a clue to what the issue is? TL:DR If you're even mildly competent to doing your own maintenance or repairs, don't let these guys talk down to you, like you need them to figure out what might be going on with your vehicle. read more
