I had to take my Civic in due to air conditioning not working properly. I thought it was going to be under warranty, however, it turns out I missed it by about a month. Don, the Service Manager, said he would contact Honda to see if they could help me out for "good will." 3 days later they contacted me to say this was denied. I was disappointed but had to get the repair and at least Don tried for me. I appreciated that. Don LeClercq was my Service Advisor. He was very kind, and went out of his way to properly assist me. I bought a certified pre-owned Honda and shortly after discovered two issues, albeit minor, but exactly the kind of thing that should've been caught during the "rigorous" CPO inspection. When I contacted my salesman, Nihad, he just told me to make an appointment with service. That's where the real problem started. Service (dealing with Ryan who was pretty rude to be honest) knew nothing about what sales had promised and treated me like a random walk-in needing a repair, not someone with a documented CPO issue. Each time, I had to make the case that I shouldn't be charged since it was clearly missed at inspection, then chase down the sales manager to back me up which, to his credit, he did. This same disconnect showed up with the two free oil changes sales said came with the car. Ryan would act like he'd never heard of it and ask for my salesperson's name to "follow up." When I went to book the second one, I got the same runaround, so I called the GM, Eric, to complain. He told me the free oil changes had a time limit, something Nihad never mentioned and that I doubt is even real. That was it for me. I skipped the second oil change and started going to my regular mechanic instead. It's a shame, since I like Hondas and First Honda is right down the street, but a dealership where inspections on CPO vehicles is so lax, sales and service don't communicate, and where service is flat-out rude, isn't worth the convenience. I just want to share a little something about this dealership. When I went to go purchase my car 7 years ago, they were very nice and friendly to me and I got a pretty good deal. The guy who actually negotiated the deal with me was trying to be a little bit of a d*ck which I didn't appreciate but we got the deal done. Now what I really want to talk about is the service. Overall the car has been great with very little issues. I've brought my car in for standard service over the years, each time to this dealership and it's been nothing short of wonderful service. Always on time and the service is fast. Just recently I brought my car in for a A/c issue, they took care of it right away and at no charge. We got quotes from some of the biggest that do the most volume and they really didn't want to work with us. I think they just move so many cars they don't really care that much. I've been leasing Hondas for over 15 years. The last 3 leases I've tried to keep my money and purchasing local. Shop local right? Impossible with First Honda Simi. They just don't like selling cars apparently. It's insane the difference in monthly payments for the same vehicle, like I said they don't like selling cars and are so tight - they're impossible to work with. They have this reputation with their he community and even other dealerships. JOHAN is rude and thinks I'm stupid. Treated my husband differently years ago but I'm a woman so I'm sure that's why. My car is worth $31,000 on the low end up to $36,000 and I own 27,000. 2022 with 12,000 miles in excellent condition on top of it. Johan is trying to tell me I have no equity in my car and also giving me price on a car thousand more than what's listed right on the website. Insulting !!! Treating me like I'm stupid and don't know what I'm doing leasing a car- or the value of what I have! He started with no equity $3000 down $575 a month and now he emailed me $3500 down for $595 a month. What a freaking joke! It just keeps getting worse I WILL NEVER SHOP SIMI. Treating people with deceptive practices, lying, scamming and treating women like they're stupid and don't know how to lease a car. Insulting!! UPDATE - went to Woodland Hills Honda. They gave her a brochure stating it was going to cover tire rotations, and fluid changes. But, once we come in for service, they tell us it only covers oil changes. We paid $1,076 for the package, which if it only covers oil changes, means we're paying around $145 per oil change by purchasing the contact. THEY ONLY CHARGE $89.95 FOR AN OIL CHANGE! Today, I went in for an appointment I scheduled at 8:15 a.m. for a recall on my 2023 Civic Hatchback. I was kindly greeted by the entire service department and followed their directions to check in, which led me to John. John got us all checked in, and mind you, it was pretty busy. We had a nice conversation, and he even complimented the dash cam I have in my vehicle. He explained to my girlfriend and me that the service would take a while and gave us a time frame of 2-3 p.m. We were already okay with this timeframe; however, John recognized that we would be waiting at the dealership rather than getting a ride to go somewhere else to kill time. He then made it his priority to try to get us out of there ASAP--and that is exactly what he did. He let the technicians know about our situation and, no kidding, got us out by 10 a.m. I was very appreciative, and when we went to retrieve my vehicle, he was super nice, wished us a great day, and everything you'd hope for. 10/10 service from John and the service department team. Well after my review the Service Manager Don called me to apologize. He was extremely apologetic and stated that he was working on fixing any issues. You know what? I believe him. He didn't have to call me. He didn't have to explain himself. I'm one person only and it could have been easy to just ignore me. He didn't. I think the owner needs to recognize Don for his commitment to the integrity of First Honda of Simi Valley. It matters to him how his customers feel. To be fair before he called me I spoke to Frank my main person for my car and another gentleman who relayed the message to Frank and Frank promptly called me back and answered all my questions. I saw a 2023 Honda Odyssey elite on their website. I called and made an appointment to see it. Arrived the following day. Met with a sales person I spoke to over the phone. Young guy, very pleasant. We test drove the car and decided to go ahead with purchase. My wife and I made an offer to which the sales person went to the manager, Dean, for approval. The sales person came back and said the manager is not willing to budge from the asking price. Just a few moments later, Dean, comes strolling up to us and says he's absolutely not budging one dollar off the asking price. I was shocked. That's not how you do business. At least you negotiate a little. After all, it's a used vehicle that has been on their lot for eight months. It Obviously wasn't selling. He said they already discounted it $8000 adding it was previously $44,000 and they just lowered the price. For a 2023 with 32,000 miles on it???? Everywhere else the same car was going for about $36,000. No wonder it wasn't moving. It was priced way too high in the first place. Anyway, he continued to say he would rather take it to auction than give us one dollar off. So let's make this make sense. He'd rather take it to an auction where he will get thousands lower than to negotiate with me for a few hundred off? We were willing to purchase the vehicle, but with his pompous attitude, we walked out. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this dealership. Not willing to negotiate at all. By the way, if hey knew we were coming to look at the car. At least have it washed and presentable. It has an inch of dust on it. Next day went to Honda of Van Nuys. Purchased a new car there.
