We have stayed in Oxford suites in different locations and all excellent. This one is the best ! Rooms clean, upgraded, spacious, quiet, beds are so comfortable and even the pillows were decent. The toilets and showers excellent water pressure. The pool is clean and the area delightful with trees and nice eating outside in am. Great staff and the breakfast was sausage, and bacon, eggs cooked the way you like them on a griddle. Potatoes, burritos and egg cheese sandwiches, juices yogurt to go bags( muffins snack bars, juice fruit cups) the kitchen staff are so friendly. You can fill up on the breakfast and take the snack bags for hiking. Location good and Plenty of places to eat within walking. Marie Callender's next door has an excellent salads, try the one with the shrimp ( best shrimp ever) and meatloaf sandwich delicious. I noticed you get quicker service using take out. The restaurants are short staffed. They try their best. You can't get a better place to stay, the price is right. read more

We stayed 3 nights. Wish I could give them 5 stars. Pros: DVD player in the room, salad bar and 2 free alcoholic (beer or wine) drinks in the evening (per night). And they weren't stingy with the alcohol either, they were decent servings and the bartender (who was so nice), always offered to give them to-go. Great beer on tap. Breakfast was substantial with great coffee. Great selection of teas, complimentary water, cups to go. Great eating area adjacent to lobby. Comfy bed, quiet. Cold a/c. Nice shampoo. Cons: small tv, uncomfortable pillows, spa closed for maintenance, small pool that is always packed, mold in shower. Tv remote was missing batteries and backing. Checkin took forever and there was no lobby bathroom. read more

Not very suite. Service and property were just, ok. Small room. The worst water pressure. If you love a drip shower this is your spot. No hot tub, no warning or communication about broken hot tub, so that was a another disappointment. Might as well stay somewhere cheaper - it's the same experience. read more

Gotta go with the majority on this one. When I first pull up, I immediately have a bit of buyers remorse. Across the parking lot, I see a Confort Inn & Suites. All of their rooms have balconies. Oxford doesn't. I love staying at places with balconies not to mention that I'm a Choice member. Oh well...it's only one night. Like others have mentioned, every employee I encountered was terrific. Whoever does the hiring here is doing a great job. The friendly woman checks me in and tells me about the evening beer and wine getogether and the breakfast buffet. Both far exceeded my expectations. I was checking out the restaurants on both sides of the hotel wondering what I was going to have for dinner. Turns out the mini salad bar that is provided for free ended up being my dinner. The two free beers were nice too. The room was spacious and very clean. Well done, Oxford Suites. read more

Clean spacious rooms and a surprisingly good breakfast. We stopped by on a road trip and I was impressed with the breakfast service. When they ran out of the scrambled eggs and sausages, they brought out more eggs and began to fry them individually for the guests. That was a level or care and detail that earned them this 5-star review. read more

Three months ago I married the man of my dreams. Like every-other bride, I wanted our wedding to be perfect. Looking back at it all, I am so glad we chose the Oxford Suites in Redding for our guest. Their amazing staff matched their amazing accommodations and their classy atmosphere matched our classy venue. With that said, Oxford Suites in Redding made it truly a memorable experience for our guest to cherish for ever. Thank you! -Tammy & Mike Henderson read more

This is our third time staying at this hotel in Redding. Staff was not as friendly this time but the one that checked us in manage to make up for the other staff that didn't acknowledge us when we were waiting. She was busy counting "cash". The rooms are clean, and I love their lemongrass flavored soap, shampoo and conditioner. Great location, close to stores, restaurants and other establishments. read more

My husband booked our stay here as a nice "treat" as our family has been going through hard times lately and he thought we could use a fun getaway. Upon arrival, we saw that the hotel was going through some renovations which we weren't warned about beforehand, but it was no biggie as we were guaranteed a quiet room. However, our room was anything but quiet and we were woken up countless times throughout our weekend stay. I'm not sure if the noises were from our close proximity to the stairs or due to renovations or what it was? It literally sounded like someone was pacing the floors and using a chainsaw at 3am in the rooms above us. Our room was also extremely outdated, smelly and dusty. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and warm but full of debris (it was really windy however). The continental breakfast was a nice surprise. Most of the staff were extremely warm and welcoming. If it weren't for the noise and smells, it would have been a wonderful weekend away. However, my husband, baby and I were left exhausted, sore from the old bed, and with the sniffles from all of the dust. Hopefully others will have a better time here than we did, as this place is full of potential but not quite where it should be. read more

We stopped in Redding during a road trip from Washington to southern California. I selected the Oxford because they claimed to have extra precautions in place during covid-19. Everyone in the lobby and reception area wore masks. However, the maids were not wearing masks when they were cleaning the rooms. The door to the room across the hall from us was open while it was being cleaned when we checked in. There were two maids in the room, without masks, talking a lot. I was unnerved by this because the cdc has claimed that droplets can remain in the air even after someone with covid has departed the area. Otherwise, the rooms were a nice size and the beds were comfortable. read more

No problems checking in. Room is large and clean. All of the hot food was gone before the evening reception was over. Could not get into our room with the first key provided. Second key did not work on the exterior doors. They use the old key cards with the holes in them. Must upgrade key technology. Hot breakfast is a plus, but they have someone serving. I guess all of the zombies were taking more than they needed to elminate the self serve policy. The coffee pot ran out but it sucked anyway. read more

After reading hotel reviews on Yelp, I almost didn't book a room for ANY city on my two-week itinerary. But since sleeping in the car wasn't a good option, I chose the hotel with the least abrasive reviews. And I'm happy to report it's wonderful! My room had a separate "living room" which could be closed off from the bedroom with pocket doors. It had a sleeper sofa, coffee table, desk and chair, another nice chair, credenza with drawers, coffee maker, ice bucket, fridge, and microwave. Besides a bed, the BR had a another set of drawers, two end tables with lamps, and a mirrored closet. The bathroom sink was large enough to accommodate my toiletries (translation: makeup and hair accessories). The bed was comfy and had a choice of soft and medium-density pillows. When I arrived, the bar was crowded since the hotel offers guests coupons for two free drinks and an evening salad bar. It's a nice gesture. The free breakfast had all the usuals, plus real eggs, bacon, and sausage. If you absolutely need to be on the Internet for a long period of time, tell the front desk so that they can try to place you in a central location where the signal is stronger. The wifi service was fast, with no spooling or other delays. I'm going to look for the Oxford Suites/Inn chain in other places I visit. read more

Must I give this a star at all? This was the worst experience I have had with a hotel in 50 countries. In the dead of winter we entered our room with the A/C on high. Power went out at 4 a.m. No back-up generator so NO shower, NO electricity or lights, NO heat, NO coffee. The included breakfast was no where to be seen. Some cold items like pastry, cereal, fruit, milk or juice should have been offered beginning of the 6-9 breakfast serving time. Two incompetent employees stood in the lobby with no management anywhere. The parking lots were not plowed of snow so we had difficulty leaving safely. There was NO compensation for our inconvenience. We called Hotels.com and the hotel lied and said the power was only out a couple hours. We suffered 5 hrs. and left. read more

The free drinks and breakfast are a major plus but I was in town for a wedding and just needed to sleep at night. I was on the second floor and I guess I should have gotten a room on the top floor since at midnight it was like a bunch of elephants were running above me. Ugh so annoying and distributing. The pillows seem like the cheap kind but at least they give you 4 . The AC worked well and I would totally be back! read more

This hotel is quite wonderful! For a respectable price compared to any generic hotel room, these suits all come with a living room with a sliding door! So if you're traveling with babies or toddlers and don't want to have to go to bed when they do... you can set up their crib in the living room, put them to bed and close the sliding door! Additionally you get 2 free drink tickets per adult, 2 free non-alcoholic beverage tickets per child and everyone gets free breakfast! It's so nice after driving long hours to relax and bring a few free beers or glasses of wine to your room! Bring a few bucks to tip though. The food is just ok. That's part of the 4 instead of 5. Breakfast is pretty lacking. There is a pool, though we've never used it. Next time for sure. It's outdoor and pretty basic. No water slides or splash pads or anything. But still looks fun!!! Staff have always been nice. There's not a ton to do around but make sure you check out the Sundial Bridge! VERY cool! Also there is a museum there that I'd like to hit up next time but they were closed by the time we it there. Looked fun for kids though. This is the PERFECT stop on a road trip from LA to Portland. read more

Stained carpets, roaringly loud AC that alternated at random intervals between silent (off), circulate (moderate) and full blast. The carpet stains looked like old blood in large amounts in front of the sink. Maintenance claimed it was hair dye and that they had attempted to clean it. The keys are old school punch cards, the first set we were given didn't even work. Was not a great experience, and thankfully it was for just one night. I barely got anything close to rest from this, and that was only because the bed was of reasonable quality. read more

Great hotel option. I'm not from Redding, but this was a very affordable and accommodating location, and now I'm totally a fan. A group of friends came here for a conference a few weeks ago, and they had plenty of room for us. Not only that, we had last minute cancellations (grr), and the clerk at the front desk was super friendly and had no problem with canceling the extra room (with no cancellation fee - thanks!). I believe I stayed in a studio queen suite ($109) which had more than enough room for the 5 of us - there was a queen sized bed and a pull out sofa bed. Decor is a little dated, but overall, the room was clean and the bedding was comfortable, so no real complaints there. Best part of the stay? I'd have to say it was the complimentary breakfast buffet! It's not your typical free continental breakfast - nope, this one has scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage links, oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, egg muffins and toast. Granted, the hot food was all doused in heavy amounts of butter, but hey - I still ate it ;) Service was great and they were moving as quickly as they could despite the huge breakfast line. There's also a big seating area so we were able to grab a table with very little difficulty. I think they also provide free evening reception (drinks and appetizers) too, but I wasn't around at night to take advantage of that. Oh, and they also have free wifi - YES. I don't plan on coming to Redding a whole lot....but if I do, I now know where I'll be staying! :) read more

The bed really sucked. The A/C sounded like a train coming through the wall. The breakfast had a line a mile long. The plus side of this place was, free wifi, decent price, decent location. other than that its old and need some fixin up. read more

The rooms are a little dated however the service and amenities more than make up for it. From check in thru my entire stay I felt like I was in a luxurious hotel. The beds are super comfortable, the gym is very clean and all the equipment works. The appetizers which were complementary were perfect for a cold rainy night. Tomato soup, salad and rolls. The breakfast in the morning was exactly what I would eat at home, spinach omelet with tomato and mushroom. Can't forget about the delicious coffee, juices and USA Today. I will definitely stay here again. read more

Interior of our room was excellent. Comfortable beds, clean room, modern decor. BUT... Our one night stay was ruined by Hefty McHeelwalker above us who paced and stomped for three hours beginning at bedtime. This person must have the endurance of an athlete and the weight of a sumo wrestler. They DID NOT STOP WALKING. My husband I tried to endure it, but after an hour or so we were going crazy. We resorted pounding the ceiling and begging them to PLEASE stop stomping. They stopped for a while.. then started again. Even the tremendous airplane-volume roar of the AC couldn't even begin to muffle it. Oh, and you guessed it - the stomping started again at 6am. I can barely remember anything else about my stay. Staff? Pool? There's breakfast? I can't remember. We fled the minute we woke up. This room was literally an acoustical torture chamber. I know Oxford isn't the jerk who pounded the floor for hours, but they rented to him/her. And they built their building in a way that made every step SO LOUD. I won't stay here again, but if you do, don't accept anything below the top floor!! And if YOU like to stomp all night long, GET A FIRST FLOOR ROOM! read more

We have stayed at the Silverdale location several times and it is perfect. This location is anything but. It is an older location, which in itself is not a bad thing, but the room was not clean. The fixtures (faucet, toilet, ect.) were dirty and the room smelled like a dog kennel. People pay the extra pet fee so you CLEAN it afterwards so the guests the next day don't smell it. I will never stay here nor do I recommend it to anyone. read more

We stayed here because we needed a 2 bedroom suite since we have one toddler that sleeps and a baby that does not. The doors were thin, I heard the people above us all night and they woke the kids up. The beds were so uncomfortable and the pillows were lumpy. Breakfast the next morning was not good. At least the hotel was clean and the customer service was good. read more

This place is a fine "travelers" kind of Hotel, and I think 3-stars are appropriate. We needed to spend a single night in Redding, didn't want to spend a ton of money, but still wanted a clean and comfortable place to stay. We got all of that at the Oxford Suites. The place evidently has been remodeled in the last few years, as the paint feels fresh and the decor and accoutrements all felt current. The air conditioner worked great, the shower was nice, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. We got our needed night of rest, and we're ready to move forward with the rest of our trip. And they have a free breakfast, which added to the budget appeal of this place! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the place is clean. All in all, I liked this place as a general "traveler" hotel. Now for the things that cause me to give this place a more "average" rating... The place is a little loud. We could hear the guy above us thumping around late in the evening and early in the morning, walking back and forth above us. In the morning, we could hear the whole family waking up in the morning, with the kids talking to each other and to their parents. Frankly, it was kind of cute, but could have been a super bummer had the people above us been a more wild / party crowd. So be warned... the walls are thin. My wife and I like to bring our own coffee with us on our trips, so that we can make a decent cup in the morning. This place only has the little Hamilton Beach individual cup coffee maker, that can only use the pre-packaged "Single Cup Coffee Pod". Well, they may call it coffee, but I think I could present a fairly strong case stating that it is only coffee in name, and certainly not in taste (sorry, my coffee snobbiness is coming out). Lastly, when we first stepped into the room, I caught a quick smell of something like "old hotel room". I couldn't tell if it was a smoking smell, or perhaps a pet smell. I know many (if not most) hotels offer non-smoking rooms, in fact it might be that all Hotel rooms in CA are non-smoking now. So that makes me wonder... I know this is a pet friendly hotel (which is fine), but it would be good to have non-pet rooms as well, so that people with animal allergies can stay in comfort. None of these negatives were severe enough to cause me to rate this hotel lower, but worthy of mention, anyway. I'd gladly stay here again. Very clean rooms and they even included some nice treats for our pets! Very efficient service at the front desk upon check in. The evening bartender, cook & morning dining room staff were some of the friendliest people I've seen. Our group of four ladies booked this suite for a weekend girls scrapbook retreat. We are avid scrapbookers and thought this would be a fun way to get together and enjoy our craft. As scrapbookers, we don't pack light. We had our usual assortment of paper and supplies, so we took over that room! We brought two tables to put in the living room area. It was a tight squeeze, but we fit. Not to mention an ice chest of refreshments! One of us was just sitting on the couch cross stitching, so she took up very little space. We thoroughly enjoyed the free drinks and salad at happy hour each evening. Drinks were limited to certain alcohols, beer and wine, but that was perfect for me! Salad was enough to make a dinner out of it. We enjoyed our happy hour by the pool every evening. The free breakfast is nothing short of amazing. Not your typical continental breakfast! They provide eggs, potatoes, sausage...all made in front of you. There were three different breakfast menus for each day we were there. We made it brunch and were pleasantly full, which made for less eating out! You can pretty much make it all day with the big breakfast and salad at dinner! Please remember to tip the bartender and the breakfast cooks. :-) The rooms were very clean with plenty of space. The cleaning staff is so friendly! They ALL greeted us with smiles and hellos. We came up from breakfast to find the maid cleaning our room the first morning...priceless to see her face with all of our scrapbook stuff and tables! She took it well with a good sense of humor. Another wonderful maid, Toni, came in and cleaned while we scrapbooked. She was so kind, friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had everything to be comfortable. Walking down the hall, past the dryers in the afternoon, it REEKS of marijuana. This is California after all, and when people smoke that **** in their rooms, the scent permeates the bedding, which comes out in the heat of the dryer. Maybe that's why the staff is so happy! You can get high just waking by! The pool was fantastic. Yes it can get crowded with children, but we like children! It was nice to cool off in the pool, since it was 103 degrees outside. The firefighters use the suites for respite. It's so nice to see them get a bit of rest after working so hard to save our homes. I hope the Oxford Suites provides them a good discount along with all those amenities....they deserve it! We were so pleased we booked for next July! We plan on making this annual tradition! read more

This isn't a 4-star hotel like the Hyatt or Hilton, yet I gave it 4-stars because of the uniqueness of this establishment compared to many hotels and motels I've stayed at. For example: Early check-in (when available) Free breakfast Free soup and salad bar Free drinks (2/night) Cool door lock Quiet refrigerator Good quality coffee VERY warm pool Friendly and attentive staff DVD/CD player connected to the (relatively small) TV Free internet which tested at 20+mps on my laptop Comfy bed and hi-quality sheets Sofa (might have been a sofa bed but we didn't look) Work-out room with one of my fav machines read more

This was the first hotel I've stayed at in a while, and I absolutely loved it. I went to Redding with my sister and our husbands (and my step-daughter) to go to Water Works Park. Oxford Suites has a special you can book that gives you a hotel room, entry into the park for 2 people (you can buy additional entry bands there, for a discount), and bag with sunscreen, water bottles, and other fun things to help make sure your trip to the water slides are fun. The rooms were very comfortable as well. The bathrooms were nice and clean, the beds as well. They have their own "brand" of toiletries that they have in large bottles, with a small bottle of hand lotion that you are free to take, and the option to buy the other products in the gift shop. And I was actually very surprised with the quality of the toiletries. The scent was lovely, and they felt very nice. They also have an "evening reception", which you get a ticket for, as well as two free drink tickets. And an AMAZING hot breakfast in the morning. It was worth it just for breakfast. :-) read more

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Redding. The reception staff was helpful and informative: letting us know where we could walk our dog and other pet related items. They even offered our beagle a guest bag! (They do it for all the pets.) I loved the room we stayed in. I don't think it was particularly special but the King-sized bed was super comfortable and the room was clean and cozy. I also thought the price was very reasonable for the quality of the room, even with our dog. We really did enjoy our stay here and would love to come here if ever we need lodging in Redding again! read more

Very accommodating, clean rooms, great customer service, free breakfast, nice swimming area (hot tub included). We booked the smallest room and there is still plenty of space, a nice sized fridge, a microwave, much bigger bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body soap than other hotels, and a bathtub with a bench. We even stayed an extra night to relax :) My boyfriend's only complaint is the thin, rough toilet paper, haha. read more

It's really unfortunate this place is relatively nice. The beds are comfy, it's quiet and fairly clean. Fairly inexpensive. The over night front desk man was extremely nice and helpful. Great hotel for the money. The staff was helpful and the free breakfast was good. I stayed there on my way up to Oregon and then misjudged my trip so I stayed there again. On my way back. I will definitely stay there again! read more

The rooms here are OK, and they have a small buffet and a couple of drinks included. Nice touch. The thieves that work the parking lot, and the management, though, are bottom of the barrel. I was tired and left my gear bag in my locked truck cab overnight - when I came out in the morning it was gone and my truck had been ransacked. Made a police report and management said they'd look at the surveillance tape. The next day I was chatting with a colleague who was staying at the Oxford and he said the back hatch to his truck had been pried open one night after mine! Told management and asked about the review of surveillance tape and they said hadn't gotten around to it. Then why have it??? If management doesn't take theft seriously why should the cops??? What if the cops could ID some of the suspects from the tape??? Should management increase surveillance, or at least post a sign at check in "recent thefts, NO valuables in car"???? Too much trouble for this bunch though..........DON'T stay here! read more

Clean, organized, amazing customer service and wonderful breakfast! I also love the wine bar! I will be back again someday!

i booked a room based on the Yelp reviews before mine & was not disappointed. the room is quiet & clean, the meals were yummy, and the service was great. the best thing is the salt water pool!! pack you suit & stay a few days. the landscaping is beautiful. the only negative experience were the smokers near the pool. tables with ashtrays invite them to cause a choking cloud of cigarette smoke for those enjoying the pool. read more

I recently stayed in Redding for a few days. I brought my dog and, therefore, needed a pet-friendly hotel. I selected the Oxford suites and had to say I am glad that I did. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. They welcomed us there and made the check-in process with my dog as seamless as if I did not have he there. The rooms are pleasant. If you are expecting accommodations on a five-star level, you may be disappointed. For example, the selection of television stations makes you recall the days when you had a few that came with you basic cable package. However, the room provided a comfortable stay nonetheless. If you are looking for a hotel suited for royalty, the Oxford Suites may not be for you. Nevertheless, if you need a comfortable, reasonably priced, and pet-friendly hotel, this is a fantastic option. One recommendation is that the parking lot fills quickly. Be careful to not park at the restaurant next door. There are tow signs posted and well, that would kinda suck! read more

Stayed there instead of the Red Lion Inn where my group was holding a meeting. I wanted to be away from the activity. The staff is great from the reception to the housekeeping. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, enjoyed the quiet of the room. Room had a seperate couch and table with a TV. Just past an open doorway was the sleeping area with a chair and another TV. One problem was that the A/C unit was in the sitting area and if you wanted to cool the sleeping area it was very cold sitting on the couch. Two A/c units in each room would have been nice. We were on the third floor and the elevator closest to our room was out of commission for 2 of the 3 days we were there. You would think that it would be repaired a little faster. Breakfast was good. Coffee was weak as water. read more

Front desk crew was exceptional and very friendly, and the room was clean but that was about it. The lighting in the room was very dark, the bed was super uncomfortable, and the shower pressure dropped and turned cold or hot literally every 30 seconds (like when a toilet flushes). The rest of the staff I encountered came across as rude. We had booked this hotel for our return trip, but opted for a different place after our initial stay. read more

Very nice! Good rooms, reasonable pet fee. Good breakfast. Overall a great place to stay.

I would stay at the Oxford Suites again. The location was convenient to the business I had in the area. I was able to walk to eateries. That was a plus! The service at the counter was good. Thank you! Our room felt a bit crowded with all of the furniture. When you go into room the sink is immediately on your right. The bathroom door is behind the room door. You walk right into the bed and the living room is past the bed. This is odd. It seems as if it should be reversed. It was a room that could adjoin to the next room. This allowed us to hear cell phones ring, water running and toilet flushing in the other room. The toilet in our room ran the whole night. The bed was comfy. The room decor was nice. For breakfast they served hot eggs, hash browns and bacon. There was an area for canned fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast and coffee. The time is 6:00am-9:00am. Everyone was nice and friendly. After checkout I learned they offer a military discount. Awesome! read more
