Deviled eggs that look and sound good but had no flavor.
Heather J.

What a disappointment! First, ambience: since the bar was crowded, we sat in the restaurant at a 4 top in the corner. The lights were so bright and I felt like a spotlight was on me. Noise - so loud! Lots of kids. Drinks - the sangria was not good. They were overpriced. The deviled eggs had zero flavor. We didn't even finish them. I ordered the steak frites which was really good, but I ordered medium rare and was advised by the waiter that if I normally like medium rare, I should order medium. So I did. It was medium well - no pink. The giant pretzel was cold. Didn't seem like it was ever warmed up. So, for 2 drinks, steak frites deviled eggs, a pretzel and a bowl of tomato soup, the bill was $98. Crazy. I will not be going back there.

Really great experience at the Owls nest! The ambiance was so cozy, staff was wonderful, and the live music was a great touch. We ordered the steak frites and the burger-- both were delicious. I found the menu a bit pricey though. Staff was kind and quick. I definitely recommend this place!

A must-try! The sunset view from the outdoor dining area is absolutely beautiful. The food was amazing--everything was delicious!

THE LODGE BURGER (Ordered Blk beanoption), Chicken Wings

Food 1 star Service - 3 stars Ambiance - 3 stars Incredibly inconsistent. We previously visited in May, both the service & food were fantastic. We recently returned on a Saturday & it was a huge miss. For starters, the charcuterie board was incredibly disappointing. Consisted of two small portions of cheese (blue & brie), sliced salami, crackers, sliced apple, hot mustard, and cherry jam, and a few blueberries sprinkled around the plate for $24. For entrees, a cold black bean burger, $24, lackluster wings, $20, watery ranch dressing & fries $12. Sent the burger back. Green salad with vinaigrette was okay. The kitchen situation REALLY needs to be fixed & quick!

This building has been a part of my history so I am a pushover, unless someone comes in and changes the name again. Yelp Short Answer: Yes, and respect the history of this space and the resort. Owls Nest is the bar/food area with outdoor seating weather permitting. No it is not perfect service-wise so set your expectations correctly and enjoy the vistas, and just relax. Location: In the main lodge of the Sunriver resort. Fantastic, not as fantastic as decades past but still great with nice parking most days. Always updating and improving their Sunriver Brand. Menu: Really impressed with current menu options, check online. Basic Amercian cuisine. Food Prep: Done very nicely for a resort. Food Quality: Excellent, better than most resorts for bar food. Waitstaff: Always seem happy yet new faces all the time. We all know staffing is a mess but they seem to onboard quickly and not be short staffed. Overall Value: There is a price for everything, I feel this is an exceptionally great value with built in equity. Please don't expect perfection especially during peak season, but in the end it will be a great experience. Nasty YELPERS simply don't get it. HINT: Show up early and if you're planning to dine outside in Summer, consider the sun as you are exposed in the afternoon. As the sun sets, it get cold quickly so bring a sweater.

Charcuterie - cherries were the highlight along with the very tasty strawberries. Chicken wings - REALLY? I mean really? They're charging $20 for SIX standard chicken wings??? That alone loses at least one full star! Lodge Burger - You know it was just okay. I was disappointed in that the pics showed a pretzel like bun which in reality was a soggy, doughy mess and it tasted like a 50s jelopy diner burger. With no spices it was absolutely not worth getting again. Cobb salad (steak) - the steak was absolutely SOLID with great taste but dressing was mediocre. Warning - it's very generous! Overall, I'd give this a solid 3.5-3.75 experience. The scenery is beautiful but between the food and fairly slow (albeit very very kind) service know that you're paying for the scenery and a little bit of food.

My girlfriend and I came here for drinks on our first night in Sunriver. We thought about getting food but we were on the fence - we weren't that hungry. The prices of everything was so outrageous for what you appeared to be getting, so we opted for just drinks. You seat yourself and when we sat down, about 15 minutes went by without being greeted by anyone. I went to the bar to order our drinks and ask for menus. The bartender/server (whatever her role was), was polite and said she'd come over right away. We got our menus and ordered our drinks, but never saw our server again. She never came back to ask if we wanted another round of drinks or see if we wanted food. I decided to close out or tab at the bar so we could find dinner elsewhere. Two stars because the view is nice and they had every playoff sports game that was on. -UPDATE- We came back the next night and met with a group of people who already had a table. The experience the second time was much worse. We never got served and the server never came by the table after we got there. My girlfriend and I decided to go to the bar to order our drinks. At the bar, were three employees talking about how late it was and wishing all of the customers left and complained about how many people were in the restaurant. Mind you, it wasn't even close to half capacity. We left. This place is just not worth the wait, poor service, and bad attitude from employees.

$24 for 8 pieces of grocery store salami, two cubes of cheese and four crackers. That's a snack made by a teenager, not a restaurant charcuterie board. Do better!

It only felt right to come back to the spot that started my Yelp "career" off right!…read more I was sad that they no longer offered the GOAT But I settled for the Bee sting, a classic pep and Cesar salad. Ordered the Bee sting with meatball (still a must do) The Cesar was different from the last time I was here. Instead of the hazelnut crumble it came with croutons. The pep pizza came with those perfect crispy little pepperonis. Delicious! The Bee sting was a little disappointing. The flavors mingled nicely, It just felt like it was missing something. Loved the crust on both pizzas! Food is bumped down to 3.7 stars. The food took a super long time to come out even with us only being one of four table there. Or waitress Sarah was very bubbly! Service still remains at 5 stars!

I wish I could say I feel bad about leaving one star, but after the experience we just…read morehad...well..I will not dine in house again (or likely to go) The Good: - Pizza was pretty good. The good ends here. The Bad - at least a 90 min wait for a pizza with only 4 other tables with customers (I get it, a lot of to go pizza but...) - about 75 min of waiting we finally had someone come over and apologize for the long wait. I was told about 8 more minutes and it will be served. - when we were done (drinks still dry) I did bring up the issues with the server, he agreed the pizza is good but the wait times are horrible and that he wishes they would do something about it etc etc. I did point out that our drinks ran dry a long while ago....they remained dry after as well! I am surprised a business with service like this remains viable in SunRiver....
