Despite being small, Indian Head Farm has a lot to offer. You can select local plants-perennials, vegetable plants and more on the front porch and in the greenhouse. The best items available here are the berries! In early summer they have strawberries and then come the blueberries, & the black, red, and Golden raspberries-impossible to pick a favorite. You can find the already picked half pints and pints in the store or you can pick your own. The nice thing about Indian Head Farm is that there are no other distractions or amusements besides picking. So if you have children with you and want a much quicker in an out than at some other local farms where you can end up being there all day, this is a great place to go. IHF has their own farm grown vegetables as well as some brought in from local farms. They also offer regional honey, their own jams and jellies, as well as some nuts, dried fruit and frozen fruits & pies. You can also purchase regional cheeses and even birdseed. If you are lucky and arrive when they have their fresh muffins right out of the oven make sure you treat yourself, they are delightful. They had a stand with a money box and you took your apples and put your money in the box. Unfortunately, I only stopped once because the apples were very soft and we ended up throwing them away. The new owners have done a lovely job with the orchard and have classes there as well as summer concerts. They have a cute gift shop with seasonal fruit, meat and handmade gifts from local artisans. It was nice to bring my 2 year old and let him run around the farm. The produce was great quality, and organic from what I've read. Sadly, we wasted more than we ate. You pick a lot at one time, and must eat it quick or it goes bad, and being a full time working family, we found it hard to find time to prepare everything. I won't be signing up again next year, It's not the farms fault, but my own. I would like to visit once in awhile next year, and just buy what I need at the moment.

We each had an alpaca (two llamas) and hiked to to the top of a beautiful mountain with a great view! She led us down and we were completed in 2 hours. She is a kind soul who led the children around the farm and allowed them to hold chickens, pet goats, and observe a 40 pound turkey. She answered every question they had and it was overall, a great experience! She takes a donation for her time and it is well worth it. We plan to come back again in the spring when it is warmer and the view changes with the season.
