It's time for an update!…read more I want to start by saying if you have yet to come what are you waiting for?! But in all seriousness we have done a lot up here since I put the farm on the map. Lets start with our new kitchen! We have built a beautiful kitchen which has helped serve some delicious burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, fries & grilled cheese for you to munch on. While waiting for your order you can walk to the other side of the building to grab a craft beer from Fieldcrest Brewing Company. We do not yet sell ice cream but the plan is to have it in 2023! We do sell cider donuts and s'mores in our country store to help with that sugar craving. We have a stage for our live music! Starting mid July we start our summer concert series which has been a huge hit with the community. I personally love seeing our field covered with lawn chairs and smiles every weekend. We provide lots of games for the kids such as sport balls, tumbling towers, and disc golf while you are enjoying the tunes of your favorite musicians! And when you need a break you can take a tractor ride around the farm! During the week we have provide sunset yoga as well as farmers markets! What better way to enjoy the views than supporting your local community vendors and or taking in some relaxing yoga with friends and family. We still have all your favorite apples for picking AND we planted 250 more trees with plans this fall to plant even more! This will help us prolong our season to Columbus Day Weekend a few years from now. Please do not climb on the trees. We do provide apple pickers for those hard to reach apples. Any broken branches could increase the risk of disease and or kill the tree. The farm has now also turned into a venue for events! We have had a few weddings now this year, including Dan and his new wife Brooke! So if you are looking for a wedding venue why not here! Please scroll through the many pictures to see some of their pictures for a visual. Some things you may notice when coming up, we no longer have the pumpkin patch and the cows have been sold. We have butchered two of the cows so if you are looking for some grass fed beef just find Dan or myself and we'll let you know what we have. A couple reminders: Please drive slow. This helps keep the dust at a minimal, our neighbors will appreciate it, and with all the children running around we want to keep everyone safe. We do not allow outside food and alcohol beverages. Please leave your coolers at home. We are a pet friendly farm! Please pick up after your furry friends after they do their business. This is a farm so you will come across bees also enjoying the apple. Look before you step when picking apples. Could easily step on a fallen apple and roll an ankle. We do encourage exploration! The view from the upper hill is amazing and we recommend taking a walk to enjoy the scenery. And without saying please pick up after yourself, a clean farm is a happy farm. Thank you in advance for coming. We look forward to making Fern Valley Farms a destination for you to come and enjoy with friends and family for years to come! Parking is somewhat limited near the storefront, and it was pretty packed when we visited, but we were still able to find a spot. Blueberry picking was easy and we found plenty of good berries. As of July 2026, it was $4.50 per pound with a 10 pound minimum. Do wear sunscreen. It gets hot out there and there's not much shade. After picking, we spent some time in the farm store. They sell a great selection of wines, ciders, jams, and other local products. The apple cider was really good, and the jams looked amazing. We were hoping to grab a blueberry pie but unfortunately most of them had already sold out by the time we arrived. They also serve ice cream from Northside Creamery and there's a small deli as well. For the kids, there's a small playground and farmhouse play area, which gave them another reason to burn off some energy after picking blueberries. The service was mostly friendly. The gentleman watering the flowers was incredibly kind and even gave us a bunch of flowers to take home. That was a really thoughtful gesture. Both the farm and the store were clean and well maintained. Overall, this was a fun family outing. Between the blueberry picking, the farm store, and the play area, it's easy to spend an hour to two here. We'd definitely come back.

I have to admit however that one of my main reasons for going is because they carry Ground Up flours. Ground Up is a local flour mill based in Holyoke, MA that doesn't use any kind of GMO or chemicals. This is the flour that my favorite bakery (Hungry Ghost Bread in Northampton) uses to make their delicacies. You can visually see and taste the difference in this flour. My mom who usually reacts badly to storebought gluten products has no issues whatsoever with this variety of flour. We used to think she was gluten intolerant but now we think it's probably whatever stuff they spray on wheat to keep bugs off that she's reacting too. But really, people shouldn't be consuming plants that have been sprayed by harsh chemicals or has been genetically modified which is another reason why I appreciate Dave's natural garden. People working there are really nice and help you with whatever you need.
