The store has a lot of farm fresh food except for their stale cider donuts. I did buy other food but I haven't tried it yet. I have to keep u updated. As For their cherry vanilla choc ice cream in the pint has jar maraschino cherries in it and only in the very bottom so unless u are a fan of it then go for it. If u are hoping for fresh frozen bing cherries ...u might have to go elsewhere. I wasted money just on my first visit there... totally disappointed. read more

The shop itself is lovely with plenty of family friendly games but the three girls that closed tonight were horrible. It not just a small country stand that sells fresh milk and their own ice cream . (They also make the ice cream for another farm stand in Wilbraham and another in the eastern end of Massachusetts and of flavors to choose from. But wait there's more. Follow them on Facebook and daily four or five names are randomly listed and if your name is one you get a free small cone! And more , free live music on the weekends , yoga with the cows ?!!?! Yes they do have it on some weekends, plus a small animal enclosure for the kiddies to see cows , sheep, goats and chickens . Prices are reasonable and they post specials , jeep days on their website . The ice cream barn is open throughout the summer months. They have closed on some days in the spring for inclement weather conditions. But take a drive to western Massachusetts and visit Maple Valley at the silos . Just an added note there are two nearby ice cream farm stores the are not the same ... just sayin! read more

I found this in the July/August issue of Yankee Magazine! We thought we knew where this is located but almost missed it and went to another nearby ice cream stand/farm. We sensed we made a mistake and turned around and took a right onto the road it's on. There are signs to the place, so I guess we just had it in our heads that we knew where we were going. There are three names associated with this business; Maple Valley Creamery, Mill Valley Milk Store, and Scoop at the Silos. Scoop At the Silos is the Ice Cream Stand and I had the Strawberry Cheesecake 3 scoop in a waffle cone. It was heavenly, so fresh tasting and CREAMY. My husband had the Peach 3 scoop in a dish and he was quite pleased with his. $12.00 total with tax included. It was 98 degrees in Hadley today so we ended up in our air conditioned vehicle after sitting outside in their covered seating area for awhile. Even with the high velocity fan our ice-creams started to melt too fast and we were playing tag with a yellow jacket! We will be back! read more

On a hot summer day I wasn't about to turn down farm fresh ice cream. There were several flavors, but I had to get vanilla. And for the second flavor I went with Kahlua. Vanilla, yes the basic but essential test of any creamery. The texture is good. No ice crystals, but a little hard in the center and the ice cream did not have a luxurious creaminess. The taste is indeed vanilla, but it is not vanilla bean and lacks a depth of flavor. A satisfying albeit basic vanilla. I definitely found the taste and texture on the Kahlua to be better. The slight bitterness from the coffee nicely enhances the sweetness. Vanilla, chocolate and coffee flavors are combined with a good creamy texture. Not ultra creamy, harder in the center, but no ice crystals. One other notation is that the flavors at times can become muddled. The brownie pieces provide a needed nuance in texture and taste. However, I doubt the brownie is homemade, and lacks a superior depth of flavor. Regardless, chunks of brownie and rich Kahlua flavor are a winning combination. Maple Valley Ice Cream is better than your average ice cream and gets a recommendation. read more

Grabbed a pint of the Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake at the Berkshire Co-op. The best I've cream I've had all summer. Warranted writing this review which I absolutely never do. Just tart enough, creamy but still light, with the bright flavor of truly fresh, sweet blueberries coming through in every bite. Well done. Will go out of my way to buy more from this creamery. read more

I just found this place today and I am so glad I did. I'm just typing this and eating some cheese and coffee I got there with some chicken I made last night. I don't even know what type of cheese I'm eating. Really though, cheese this good I usually get at Provisions in Noho or Provence France. I'm going back for more... Ok, back now. There is quite an are to making superior ingredients. Emanuel, the owner of Chez Albert in Amherst said to me one time that sometimes a dish can be very simple and fast if the ingredients and great. For example the coffee I'm drinking now is so different from the coffee I had this morning. Also it's the same pot so the raw milk actually saved the slightly burn coffee and added the smooth texture I am tasting now. Anyway if you are going grocery shopping soon I would so hit this place. It is right behind Maple Farms Foods. It is small but really everything they have comes from the land you see before you and the land is good. I got honey, coffee, cheese, breakfast sausage, a cookie, chips, You should really get some milk. The milk is like stupid good. read more

good icecream, but I can't get over how rude the owner is. You can clearly tell the young lady's there are working their butts off and the way he talks to them is so aggressive! I've heard him talking poorly about his workers on multiple occasions and it's just not something you'd expect coming from their boss. I've heard about this man before and despite all the negativity, I decided to try out his business more than once and was utterly disappointed each time. Poor girls. read more

I am a icecream Psycho. Some of the reviews below me are crazy. This is the best icecream I have ever had. The maple walnut is out of this world. That being said, I can understand why some people might not like it. Its not that creamy. I hate creamy. I hate Coldstone, Ben and Jerry's etc. When I eat that icecream I feel like I'm enjoying pudding and not something refreshing. I am such a sucker for I locally made products, and I so desperately wanted to love this ice cream. I picked up 2 pints at my local Roche Bros. Prices were fair. I chose 2 flavors, but today I am writing on the maple walnut. At first the maple flavor is quite present but quickly fades out. There is defiantly a good amount of walnuts in the ice-cream which is nice. However the flavor is simply to bland and there seems to be a lot of air whipped it. read more

I picked up a pint of Maple Valley vanilla ice cream at Serio's Market the other day -- the first time I've tried it. Unfortunately I can't recommend it. I noticed something amiss right away -- the container was remarkably light in weight, which indicated a fairly high "overrun," meaning the ice cream had had a lot of air whipped into it. Maple Valley vanilla is what's known as "Philadelphia-style." It contains no eggs -- just cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla flavoring. It's considerably less rich and dense than, say, Ben and Jerry's or Haagen-Dazs. In this respect, Maple Valley is more like ordinary supermarket Breyer's vanilla ice cream, except that the former is at least twice as expensive as the latter. Tastewise, the Maple Valley vanilla flavor was muted, it was quite sweet, and it had a slight "cooked milk" thing going on. Overall, the flavor reminded me a lot of marshmallow fluff.
