Short and simple the food here was great. I ordered for take out at work and had the Bangin chicken sandwich and it was banging to say the least. It was a hearty sandwich definitely worth the money. We did get it delivered via door dash and had a seamless ordering process as well. The food didn't take that long and got here before the arrival time. My coworker got a salad that she also enjoyed. Today we had brunch here and it was simply the best! Our server was Tara who was phenomenal, we let her know that today, we were branching and not in a rush! She did not rush us at all and everything came out at a perfect time all while her checking in with us the perfect amount. First, I've been to both locations now and this place is adorable! Has a whimsy with the tree in the center of the restaurant and the decor was tasteful and rustic. We brought champagne for mimosas which they happily supplied the orange juice We scanned the menu and was so hard to make a decision because everything sounded amazing and the plate presentation of all the dishes going to tables around us was eye catching. We decided to start with a share for the table which was the Tokoyo Pancakes from the special menu. This came out beautifully and the taste was well balanced! Next I had the special menu the steak with tostones. This place does not skip the details of presentation, my dish was instagram ready, no filters needed. I did use portrait but that's a given. My two friends had the Benny's Benedict which was also plated beautifully and had such levels of flavor. Everything we had was perfectly cooked with balanced flavors that complimented each dish. So happy to have this spot added to the area. After living in Hoboken for four years, brunch definitely became a Saturday morning routine. Over easy brings me right back. Everything I've ever had (and everyone I've been with has had) was delicious! The fancy burrata is my all-time favorite. The mix of the poached eggs, arugula, EVOO and burrata is such a good mix. I had the steak sandwich last time which came highly recommended by our server and he was definitely spot on. The steak was so juicy and the bread was crispy and flavorful. My fiancé is obsessed with the steak & eggs and gets the clean plate award every time. He's not a big brunch person but he comes for the steak and eggs. It's BYOB, so if you bring champagne, they will bring you an ice bucket, mixers, and glasses. The inside is beautifully decorated. For those saying it's overpriced, I have to disagree. We ordered the protein breffy which I didn't expect to have much flavor, but it was basically flavorless and the chicken was rubbery. Visited OE Kitchen on my lunch break last week. The staff was quick to seat me, since I was alone I sat at the bar and service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself has industrial but homey vibes. The ceiling is exposed and there's a giant artsy tree fixture in the middle. I asked the waitress for her opinion because I couldn't decide between the fancy burrata and the market plate. She suggested the fancy burrata and I'm glad I had it! The sourdough was thick cut and the eggs were perfectly poached; there was plenty of arugula creating a large portion size. AWFUL SERVICE! Over Easy Kitchen is quite honestly always a meal that we find to be tasty but sadly the service is some of the worst service around. About 85% of the time, the service is lacking but we are very understanding that since Covid many restaurants are struggling to hire good help. But today at 10:15 am my mom and I arrived to dine at the Over Easy in Holmdel. As we walked in, we saw 8-9 people behind the counter. It was actually comical as my mom gestured to the many faces as if to say, which hostesses should we address to ask for a table for two. We were seated immediately by one of the hostesses who gave us menus. It was not busy at all, only about 1 or 2 other tables occupied inside at this time along with a mom and daughter seated eating at the counter. There were about 2 tables occupied outside. Once we were seated and looked at the menu, we waited and waited. We looked over to the many workers behind the counter in the hopes that one of them would recognize the fact that they had customers. But they were all chit chatting away. About 10-15 minutes after we were seated, a hostess walked by and we asked her "do we have a server?" And she replied she will get someone over. To our surprise one of the ladies that had been chatting away behind the counter was our server named Britney. Once we ordered our food, it took an exceptionally long time to be served the food and in that time we realized out of the 7 tables that were seated at that time, only one table even had food. So baffling since the restaurant was quite empty. My mom had to gesture to Britney from across the room to bring us water since once she took our order, we did not see her again till our food arrived. It's truly disappointing that this was our experience and in general their service is not the best. Plus the seating is very uncomfortable. So bottom line is if good service and being comfortable in the restaurant is important to your dining experience, go somewhere else. read more

SUCH a great brunch spot wow!! went recently for like a lunch, early dinner situation which was perfect because it was dead we were literally like one of the two only tables occupied. The servers were extremely helpful although the food took slightly longer than I would've liked but maybe i was just hungry ;) I ordered a salad (i think the farmhouse) and i loved it, great for anyone who loves sweet contrast in their salad. Also got a side of fries for the table which were REALLY good! soft on the inside with a nice crunch and golden color but not too greasy! A couple of other notable things that were ordered was the vegan stack which was presented beautifully, the classic burger, and the a sort of omelette roll (not sure what it was called). Recommended by a friend who raves about the Marlboro location we sampled the OEK today. The restaurant is at the far end of a sprawling strip mall off Laurel Ave and Route 35 on the Hazlet side near the cold stone creamery. It's new modern and sleek inside although it seems like the decided to forget about their ceiling tile and leave the framework up. The interior is cool and hip with smatterings of color from the art and decorations. The staff were young and enthusiastic very attentive and seemed to be eager to be good at their jobs. The menu is sparse, there are some fun and creative choices on both the breakfast and lunch menu but all this goes out the window with their over eager pricing. We ordered a regular egg, potato, meat and toast plate and the ricotta pancakes. Although edible I can't say anything was bad but the word average comes to mind. An average breakfast lunch place kind of describes my feeling. The above mentioned 2 entree breakfast and coffee for one was $31.10 ($26.10 before tip) that too much for 3 scrambled eggs and 2 pancakes. I came I saw I didn't hate it but I won't be back. Came here for lunch with coworkers this week and was very happy to have found this spot. We came right at peak lunch time at 12:30 and they quickly accommodated our party of five. The restaurant's ambiance has the feel of a trendy brunch spot. There aren't too many nice places for lunch so this is a welcomed addition to the area. It was our first time here so we wanted to look over the menu and the sever was patient and helpful. We had the Turkey Burger, O.E Burger, Veggie Panini, Fancy Burrata, and Steak and Eggs. The food came out relatively quickly considering the lunch rush and everything was delicious. The burgers came with a spicy mayo that is to die for. The fries were crisp and even the side salad was perfectly dressed. Everyone was happy with their food and cleared our plates. Not to mention, the plating was on point. Food was great, but it was the service that lacked. Our waitress was not accommodating. I explained I had dietary restrictions and yet when I asked "is this cooked with or have XYZ?" She would respond with "I literally don't know". That's not a very helpful answer. Not only did it make me uncomfortable, but it made my friends uncomfortable. Tried it for the first time and thought it was a nice breakfast/lunch/brunch spot. Pancakes were light and fluffy. They had Mexican Coke, which was a nice surprise. Decor is pleasant. Service was really good. Music was a little too loud to enjoy a conversation and you had to shout over it. And I am not a fan of fee of any kind from hotels or restaurants, so the customer service fee detracted from my overall experience (i know it is only 3% but I would much rather it be rolled into the cost of the food than added as a separate fee). I have never been to an establishment where I had a person waiting my table follow me out the door stating that I only left her 4$...she should be lucky I gave her 4$.. you get paid by the "QUALITY" of "YOUR" services. When my bf and I walked in and was greeted with a nice hostess. We sat at our table and our waitress came and introduced herself with no smile. She seemed like she had a horrible attitude and to my surprise I was right. Not once did she come to our table to check up on us and see if we needed anything. We shouldn't have to always call her over to request things. I've also work in the food service industry and know that your tip is based on your services to the patrons who enter your establishment. Updating my review because I really do love this place. I'd say we come here at least 4 times a month and we've only had a bad experience once but that server is gone and things have been consistently better since then. The food is good especially on the weekends when there are a little more options with a special menu. My fiancé and I don't eat pork so our options are sometimes limited when the menu says no modifications, and my options are even more limited since I'm pregnant and staying away from runny eggs. We will be back to order our usual stuff and hopefully try something new on the weekend. If you're in town definitely give them a try you won't be disappointed. read more

Last time going here.. Ordered breakfast. Waiter brought 2 cups of coffee. Breakfast came to table. NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. Our coffee cups were dry, Did not come back to even give us refills. We were totally done, plates empty, cups empty. Workers in back huddled laughing at something on another workers phone. He finally came back WITH CHECK IN HAND. We were told 5-10 minute wait time and after 20mins of waiting and watching several parties who got there after us get seated, we finally approached to see what the hold up was and ONLY THEN were we finally seated. The table we were then seated at had a family just sitting there waiting to be seated and then the table was not cleaned after the family had to be asked to leave from the area. This seemed to happen to multiple parties even as we were eating. There seemed to be a manager roaming around and lots of staff there, but no one seemed to be actually doing anything. There also was a dog in the restaurant sitting on a booth, who had indication that he was a service animal and was misbehaved in the restaurant. No one confronted the owner and it frankly seemed unhygienic and rude. It also urinated on the sidewalk directly in front of the entrance. Gross! The food was mediocre at best- edible and warm, but nothing to write home about. It was also grossly overpriced. The only reason I give it 2 stars and not 1 is because of our lovely waitress who was very apologetic and had way too much on her plate serving more than half of the entire restaurant herself. She was prompt and kind to us. Overall, terrible experience and will not be returning. However, we wish this wonderful waitress a better job. read more

This is a tough place to review because the food is delicious. But this place is expensive. You will pay much more for the same items here as you will for many other local breakfast spots. And there are many other local breakfast spots with delicious food. I like the ambiance here, it's clean and nice. The service was good. I don't love that they charge an excess fee for credit cards. Ultimately, if you like good food and don't mind paying a bit extra, this place might be for you. However, If they lowered their pricing and ditched the fees for paying with a credit card, I would definitely rate this place 4 or 5 stars. read more

I've been twice and I really wanted to like it but it all falls short. The entire place is totally discordant. The radio plays trance music, while the television plays football in a place with NYC style (read on top of each other) seating. The pole in the middle of the room is poorly disguised as a tree of with some kind of weird flower growths hanging from it. It really wants to be cool, but then the menu happens. It is outrageously priced for what is being sold. There was nothing special at all. No seasonal fruits or flavor rich dishes. In fact, the specials were just barely deviations from the regular menu and the no subs rule means they won't even turn a sunny side egg over once-- even if the thought of an egg cooked that way makes you want to puke. Basically, nothing you can't get at a diner. To then try to pass the credit card fee onto the consumer was an incredible insult especially since they don't warn you until you get the bill. It's a pathetic ploy considering how many customers use cards these days. Carrying cash isn't actually safe or a thing women are advised to do. But I guess they don't actually like money here. I gave it two stars because the coffee is actually pretty good. But unless you're just desperate for something new, I'd still choose the Turning Point. read more
