Has a large room in the back of the restaurant. Looks nice.

The food was Ok. The brisket was too lean, dry and bland. On my online order, I asked for fatty cuts. Guess either they didn't have it, didn't see the request or didn't want to honor the request. The ribs looked and tasted as if they were boiled for hours and then finished under the oven. They did not taste as if they were ever cooked in a bbq. Cole slaw needs more mayo. I placed an online order for 2 platters and only one showed up in the restaurant system. Total cost of a brisket platter and a full rack of ribs platter was $48. Credit or cash accepted. Takeout orders do not come automatically with utensils. Customers had to ask for them. We're from NYC and were not familiar with this practice. We drove 10 minutes to a scenic spot to eat when we realized we didn't have utensils. Drove back 10 minutes to get utensils. Our order was missing a side of potato salad too. We got an extra corn bread instead. When we returned for utensil, the restaurant gave us the potato salad side. The corn bread and the spicy sauces were very good though. We used up all of the sauces on the meats. It's not likely we'll return to this restaurant when we visit the area again. I don't understand the high ratings from others. But maybe we just have picky NYC taste buds.

I recently found out I'm pregnant and it was midterms this week so I wasn't going to have time or energy to cook for my son and I. I've gotten to-go orders from them once before so it seemed like a good option. My only purpose for writing a review (which I rarely do) is because of the very nasty interaction with Dennis. When I got home, I opened the bags that didn't contain the meat and the containers with sides had very tiny portions but cheaper fillers such as fries and coleslaw took up the predominance of the container. The BBQ sauce containers had about a drop of sauce in them and they didn't put our drinks I paid for in the bags. I called over to the Outpost and asked to speak to a manager, I was informed that there are no bosses but they would get someone for me. The man who got on the phone (he identified himself as Dennis) had a mellow tone until I told him that I was calling because the portion size of my "sides" was stingy. He started snapping with a raised voice saying, " I don't know what that means! What is it you're trying to say?! ". I replied that I just paid over $80 ($82.45 to be specific) and the portion size was ridiculously small. Dennis began yelling into the phone, speaking over me saying, "What are you even talking about?! We put the same size serving in every order! 4oz!! They're 4oz servings! It's the same for anyone! " I finally interjected through the yelling and said, "Dennis, it's ok to say you didn't know. It's ok to say you messed up." He was quiet then simply said, "ok". Dennis, if you're going to be interacting with people outside of your area, adopting some decorum would be wise. I notice alot of your friends and regulars have posted reviews to your benefit and that's lovely, however, you should learn how to interact with people who aren't saying what you want to hear. It goes a long way. Your food is decent but that whole interaction in addition to the amount of money I spent only to contend with that mess was a turn off. Then again, when you came out to greet "Patty" at the window and the family at the table, you breezed right past my son and I and I realized that there wasn't any warm and fuzzy towards people who look like us. I'm sure you'll thrive based on the little town you're in.

I was up visiting my daughter at school. We decided to go to Cortland to see my son and found this place in the middle of nowhere. We bookmarked it and planned to stop on our way back. I am soooo glad we did. The place looks and feels like you'd want a BBQ to look and feel like. The people who worked here were super friendly and very helpful. I felt like I was invited over a friends house for dinner. Amazing experience. The food. My daughter had pulled pork and I had brisket. It was amazing and tender. I didn't notice any fat at all. And the spicy bbq sauce had just the right amount of kick to it. We both agree that every time I'm up in this area this is a must eat at place. Do yourself a favor and stop in this hidden gem.

We drove almost two hours from NYC on a random Tuesday just to get out of the city for a bit. No…read moreplans, no itinerary. We were heading toward the antique mall when we spotted a sign across the parking lot that simply said "BBQ" next to this beautiful outdoor dining area. We looked at each other and immediately changed plans. The second we walked inside, it was obvious this was the real deal. The smell of smoke hit first, then the menu -- all the classics, all done seriously. After way too much debate, we landed on two sandwiches. The Cowboy Burger was honestly ridiculous: an Angus burger topped with sliced brisket, melted Swiss, and served on a buttery toasted brioche bun. One of those sandwiches where you stop talking after the first bite. It came with maple baked beans loaded with chunks of burnt ends that tasted like they had been cooking all day. The pastrami sandwich was piled absurdly high with juicy smoked meat and whole grain mustard. We added Swiss and that absolutely made it. We got the mac and cheese with it -- creamy, rich, and made with those playful little cavatappi spirals that somehow make mac and cheese even better. Before the food even came out, our waitress brought complimentary bowls of soup. The split pea tasted garden fresh, and the gumbo had this warm spice to it that genuinely reminded me of New Orleans. Everything was served on rustic wooden cutting boards with huge pickle spears on the side. It felt thoughtful without trying too hard. At one point we told our server the meal was life-changing and she laughed and said her dad was the pit master and she handled the bakery. Suddenly everything made sense. In the back were display cases overflowing with homemade desserts: coconut cloud cake, bourbon pecan pies glistening under the lights, bread puddings, all of it looking dangerous. We were completely stuffed, but there was no chance we were leaving without dessert. We ordered the banana chocolate chip bread pudding. She warmed it up, topped it with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled chocolate syrup over the top. Absolute insanity. From the old-school Americana decor, to the genuinely warm family-owned atmosphere, to the expertly smoked meats and homemade baked desserts -- this ended up being one of the best meals we've had all year. The town itself was beautiful, but honestly? We'd drive back just for the barbecue.

The service here is very friendly and the star is for the servers…read more The food here is crap. The ribs were not tender at all and the dry rub has a weird flavor. The BBQ sauces are average at best. The half chicken wasn't much better than the ribs. The breast was so dry and overcooked that it was inedible. The wall decor is bizarre. Who wants to see war articles and military scenes while eating dinner? Hard pass.

I've eaten at Brothers BBQ a handful of times and I feel confident enough at this point to tell you…read moreabout it. Now this is just my opinion, so don't get crazy. Compared to other bbq in the area, I believe Brothers is a winner. The food quality is great, and techniques of prep and cooking are perfectly mastered. The brisket has a flavorful crust and it breaks apart with a fork. The baked beans have all the right stuff to make them excellent. Baked Mac and cheese is BAKED. The chicken falls off the bone and smoked perfectly. Candied yams are perfect and you can actually taste the butter that you're SUPPOSED to bake into it, (they're the only ones who make it right) in my opinion. We ordered an appetizer of "burnt bacon ends", and so much flavor, and fall apart with a fork. The cocktails were potent, so beware . Did I say enough about the food? Even the service was great. One of the owners even swung by to see if we needed anything. If you haven't already gone, go. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere, and sometimes has live entertainment. You'll love it.

Didn't have to wait long for food. Make sure they bring your cornbread. That was sweet and hot. Got the brisket nachos and the pulled pork sandwich with candied yams. Brisket was very tender and sweet. Very tasty. The pulled pork was moist. The yams were cooked perfectly, nice and soft. It has a very comfy feel with lots of cute decorations. Feels like a warm ski lodge.
