I came here to get one thing and it took a long time to find it. I wanted a fine strainer for my bathroom sink. It would have been great if I'd have seen an employee, but I felt like I was the only one working there. Not fun, not good. They did have a sale on something that I wanted and that was good. I picked up another thing that I will have to return. The value of what I got was hard to determine because I was taking advantage of being in the area.

Review for the garden area only: My husband is the plant enthusiast, and they were well stocked in that area. They have a large variety of pots and a decent selection of fruit trees for a chain. We purchased a satsuma mandarin semi-dwarf. The price was cheaper than BHN, where we picked up a dwarf nectarine tree. Both locations have trees from Dave Wilson nursery. Note: no public restrooms at the moment. Lots of parking though!

A pleasant change from the god-awful home Depot in Emeryville. Brightly lighted, clean, well-organized store. Plenty of convenient parking. Reasonably helpful staff.

    Steve helped me out!

This store is kind of a tucked-away gem. Parking is safe and abundant, it's never too busy, customer check out is fast, and staff always has time to help out (and they often check on you to see if you need help). If you're needing to go to Home Depot, pause and ask yourself if you can get it here at OSH. This morning Steve took tons of time to figure out what hex nut I needed for my truck. Wasn't easy to track down, either. Then he helped me find, like, 20 other things. Making a point to make this my go-to place!

Outdoor Supply Hardware is a medium-sized hardware, home improvement, and gardening supplies store. It's about 1/3 the size of a standard Home Depot or Lowes, but still has 90% of the selection for most non-contractor needs. It's easy to park at this location and is rarely busy with no lines. The staff is very friendly and the prices are competitive.  My favorite part about this Outdoor Supply Hardware location is the gardening and plant section. They have a vast selection of plants, pots, fertilizers, soil, mulch, and more. All the bagged soils and mulch are stored in front of the store right in the parking lot, so it's convenient when loading. Anything you need for your garden or backyard project is here! I've noticed they receive vegetable and fruit starters much earlier than other nurseries in the area. The actual size of the starters is impressive and the pricing is unbeatable on certain plants. The strawberry starters work out to be $1.50 each with the 6 pack, which is the cheapest I've ever seen at any retail location in the Bay Area.

The future here is unclear, as the local town wants nothing but more housing, and this site is in the crosshairs for "redevelopment". But for now they're open and a good place to go. They're focused on "supplies", meaning hardware, there's no toys, trinkets, garden tractors, housewares or other stuff. I wish that True Value had online stock status.

He led me out to the one row I hadn't looked at, at the front on the register side. There was the Brasscraft replacement for the cruddy junk-metal bonnet nut that Delta inexplicably put in their otherwise OK bathroom faucets. Happy happy joy joy! True Value lists this BrassCraft part on-line, same $5.99 as on-line with 1 week shipping. Clearly marked with the Delta RP6060 number. BrassCraft's part is thicker and heavier duty than the junk-metal original, and fits a 27mm socket vs 15/16 or 31/32 inch tools. But also does fit the presumably inch dimension threads under the handle.. Old, old, school, as someone posted, not a lot of power tools, lumber or plants. Yep. I don't go to hardware stores for power tools, or lumber, I go for hardware, and hardware is what they're all about. ALL the sizes of copper pipe, brass pipe, galvanized steel pipe, black-oxide pipe, ABS and PVC pipe, flexible pipe, pipe fittings, adapters, screws, nuts, bolts, nails, specialty nails, good cleaner and polish selection, real electrical / other workshop, brackets, ducts. In a word, hardwared..

They're a hardware store too -They have multiple pickup spots. TL:DR VERSION: I went there to find a shelf and find some 2x4s. They turned out to have way more than just that. They're a full-on hardware store. I ended up also getting wood screws, plastic sheeting, and painters tape too. Staff was very helpful and friendly. One of them helped me find wood for shelf (in the size, color, and finish that worked for my project) and order 2x4s They have multiple pickup locations for different orders, all within a block of each other. I got my 2x4s behind the store, and the guys happily cut them to the lengths I needed. They directed me to their other location acrid the street. I went down Folger a little too far and ended up in their other outdoor lot. The gent I talked to in one of the offices was very friendly and helpful. He stopped the work he was doing and walked out in the rain to show me where their corner warehouse is. The guys at the corner warehouse were also friendly. They got my order cut to size and loaded it into my trunk. One of them helped me with a refund on items I didn't need. This is the best experience I've ever had at a hardware store. Their service is exceptional, and they had everything I needed.

I used to visit to find that hidden gem or get inspired to transform a piece of unwanted item into a functional item like a planter or garden art. This place is great for a DIYer or handy man as items have so much potential but can be a bit overwhelming if you're looking for something specific. My recent visit was to find a replacement window for a mini table-top greenhouse I put together about 15 years ago. Unfortunately, after a recent windstorm, 1 window broke and needed to be replaced. The original windows I bought were from a salvage/building resource spot in SF. At the time, buying 6 windows cost me $70 at most. Now (15 years later) for the same quality it will cost you $35-$60/window at Urban Ore. Ouch! I guess these windows may be used for a remodel of an older home. They do have another section for cheaper windows but sadly they look like the one I'm trying to replace...some wood rot, flimsy, peeling and weathered as they're not protected from the elements. Staff outside are friendly and helpful. Worth a stop to check out but some pricing on items a bit higher. Parking inside the gate and along the street.

I decided to look it up so my girlfriend, her sister, and I can go and check it outwhen. Lord behold it's in Berkeley! Ok, not a big deal, but we all kept thinking that they should fix the location across social media videos. We get there and parking isn't easy to find. You have to park in or around the other warehouses in the area or a couple of blocks away. After we found parking we made our way over and oh it was a huge disappointment to behold. I think we only stayed for a few minutes before we called it a bust and a waste of time. Do not, I repeat, do not believe the videos that these social media influencers are feeding your algorithm. There was so much trash, broken products, and some of the furniture that could be salvaged had ridiculous price tags on them. Some sets were incomplete, coffee mugs were cracked, tools rusted, and when asked about certain electronics working conditions they either didn't know or refused to check. Needless to say we were unimpressed and never coming back.
