Terrible company, terrible service.

The missus sent me to Kevin Kelly interiors. The brief was simple, get drapes for the sitting room... not curtains, drapes...what's the difference? The shop was full of curtains, cushions and interestingly, wallpapers - custom made wallpapers - did you know you could order such things? I didn't! ...the drapes? nope, I failed miserably, she had to go herself!

A good and cheap way to furnish the home is of course to check out the charity shops and auction houses selling second-hand homeware, but when I can finally afford to perk up my flat with nice new designs (the day will come, i'm sure), I'll remember Kevin Kelly. It is packed full of mirrors, lamps, soft furnishings and photo frames. There are also wee gifts dotted around the place (wallets, letter opener sets etc....) which is a nice touch.

They don't answer their phone, return phone calls when messages have been left or deal with their customers face to face. I have tried year after year to resolve an issue face to face regarding bad workmanship in my home. I wasn't trying to get them to cover the cost, I was prepared to pay whatever was necessary to have things fixed. Unfortunately I was unable to to do so. Postal mail worked but it had its limitations and the next step would be the small claims court. However, this isn't a route I would choose. I would much rather they spoke to me either face to face or by phone and together we could work at resolving the problem. I think they have a mindset that as soon as a customer complains they automatically think the customer wants them to foot the bill and then they avoid the customer in every way possible. Instead, if they were professional enough, they should talk to the customer, ascertain the issues, and come to an agreement that is amicable to them and the customer. They have put me off using interior designers for life and that's a shame as I am sure there are many more out there who would not only do the job, but would also treat their customers in a professional manner. I've never written a review before and it saddens me to have to do so but the service has been so bad and their unwillingness to communicate so unprofessional. As a customer I feel badly let down by their service.

Some interesting facts about Windows Fashions Ltd 1. They're…read morea family run business. 2. They custom make all of their curtains/blinds in their own workroom. 3. It's housed in a really cool building. The building is really what caught my eye with this place. The art deco style hit me right away and I felt like I'd walked back in time. At the top of the building they've got the year it was erected, 1938. Upon further research I found out that the building was in fact an old cinema. So it's quite interesting to see it in its most modern incarnation and then to imagine Emergency era Dublin residents going here to catch the latest film/ war news. The architecture of the place aside, the shop has an impressive collection of window fashions and a wonderful, spacious showroom thanks to its former incarnation. Definitely worth a look if you're remodeling the old house.
