I cannot recommend Harvey Norman Drogheda highly enough! After purchasing a brand‑new TV on…read moreSaturday, I accidentally damaged it beyond repair while unpacking. I called the store fully expecting to be out of luck--perhaps a small discount or maybe take the broken TV off my hands--but what happened next completely blew me away. Without hesitation, the team offered to replace the TV free of charge. Their generosity and willingness to help transformed what had felt like the final straw in a truly trying week into genuine relief and joy. As a parent of a child with severe autism, recent days have been especially challenging: our son, in a wave of dysregulation over the Easter break, managed to break nearly €3,000 worth of technology--TV, laptop, computer monitors, a printer, you name it. We've since secured everything with anti‑tip straps, but at that moment the idea of losing another TV felt unbearable. Harvey Norman's kindness came at exactly the right time. They had no way of knowing how much this act of goodwill meant to our family, turning a near‑disaster into a reminder that there are still businesses who truly care. From the courteous Customer Care (Thaks Nicola!) to the hassle‑free exchange, every step was handled with professionalism and genuine warmth. I will be singing their praises to everyone I know--and I'll certainly be back in Drogheda whenever we need anything tech‑related. Harvey Norman, you've earned a customer for life! Warmest regards, Stephen O'Brien

Well the washing machine froze the week before Christmas and refused to work once thawed. Being 5…read moreyears old and having given plenty of washes over it's lifetime - the decision was made to purchase a new one. Plenty of internet research later we had it narrowed down to one in Harvey Norman or one on Power City - went to Harvey Norman first and was greeted on the way in the door by a cheery man. While I understand that retail establishments are adopting this practice of "greeting" to improve customer service and also for security - I for one can't stand it. I hate the falseness of it, and also any of them that I have ever asked for help -can't. They have to stand there in their greeters spot and not do anything else, bar point me in the direction of "regular staff" Walked through the vast furniture department (love the smell of the leather couches!) to the electrical department and on the way in the door they had their best offers on display, ie their best reduced washing machine, dryer, fridge etc. A fairly cheap model caught my eye and we had a glance over the specifations before having a perusal at the rest of the washing machines available. While I wouldn't consider myself to be a "brand snob" - I also have a dread fear of unknown brands so dismissed the cheapest option - the "finlux" brand immediately. Noticed that Harvey Norman don't seem to stock the "Bosch" brand anymore, anybody who seems to know anything about washing machines says to buy a "bosch" for reliability and longevity. No staff were around to help us as it was fairly busy with customers so we made our way out to the best offers again, ended up going for an "indesit" 6K, 1000spin washer reduced from €299 to €149. It's A energy rated and has "eco" water facility and plenty of program options so it was going to do the job for us nicely and at a nice price as well. Staff were on hand to process the transaction almost immediately and then we were told to drive around to their warehouse around the corner for collection. All in all a fairly easy purchase, if it wasn't for the pesky greeter who waved a cheery false goodbye on the way out.

My husband and I, who are early retirees, (55) visited the Naas location to look at purchasing a…read moresecond laptop. To be fair, we walked in at 6:20pm, and they closed at 7pm, so there wasn't a lot of time to ask questions. We had a very lovely and friendly gentleman who was simply doing his job and being attentive, noticed we were looking for assistance, (many of the others seemed to busy talking with one another) While asking questions, it became very apparent he knew what he was talking about. We were excited and appreciated the fact that we could learn from him, as we aren't fully up to the latest and greatest of what's out there for technology. We appreciated his friendly, tactful and non-condescending approach to our questions. (Except for when he said the 17 inch screen was for pensioners) We explained what we were looking to get out of the laptop, the kind of work we needed it for, how we would be using it et... He quickly narrowed our choice down to three models, and educated us on the pros and cons and that these models, and how they would give us what we needed without going for the highest priced laptops on the floor. I have been in the retail business industry, owning and operating my own businesses for the past 20+ years, and my job for the past 8 years has been retail training and development, focusing on the customer service aspect of business. I have to say that Luke was impressive. He answered all of our questions, made us feel comfortable, educated us, and encouraged us to use the products and try them without any pressure. This is not easy to do, especially when the customer knows there is a commission involved. The disappointment for me, was when he said he was done his shift and was now working overtime for free. He spoke with us for 5 minutes more, and pointed us in the direction of his colleague "Shane" if we needed further assistance, which was great. (You can't blame someone for not wanting to work for free) However, Shane was busy with another customer, and his other colleague, "Felix" who we asked a few more questions to regarding the difference between a couple of the models we had narrowed our choice down, to may as well have been asleep, (He was uninterested in helping us, let lone anyone else, standing in a comatose position, staring straight ahead at the floor, with the counter seeming to hold him up), got the sale because at the end of the day, we wanted a computer and no one else was around. ugh. So I guess, unfortunately for Luke, and us, his hard work and decent customer service went unrewarded, as we had to ask Felix for help to get the laptop. I so would have preferred, and felt better about spending €1000+ at a retail business that encouraged their staff to care about people, and teach them about what customer service actually means. This company could use some guidance on how to help their employees succeed and also feel appreciated in their roles. Clearly, this is an upper management issue.
