Everything is so pretty/elegant/stylish/quirky/or just plain useful that, if you are ever stuck for a gift for someone who already has everything (like most of us), here you'll find something for them. They have the most beautiful greeting cards, scandi-inspired home wear, candles (not the tacky ones), mugs and decoration, maps, quirky wrapping paper, books....the list is long. I happened across this treasure trove of a shop the other day. Yet it turns out to be much much more than that. Walk into the shop and the building is like a TARDIS, with aisles winding further and further back into the shop. What was more impressive was the content - yes there are pretty boxes, and furnishings, but also candles, a plethora of craft items, a wide array of different coloured candles, cookery utensils, old fashioned sweets, and much much more (and at affordable prices too!). A quick internet search when I got home revealed the shop to be a "Danish lifestyle retailer... selling a range of home accessories, kitchenware and hobby items", and this Dun Laoghaire store is it's first in Ireland, Well worth a look in if you are in town.

Bought a beautiful (large) labradorite for a very good price. Lesson learned - put in your checked bags! They almost confiscated at airport security out of carry-on because it could be thrown. I had to go back out of security, buy an expensive bag to hold my beautiful stone and then check it. Made it home no problem, but costly! It was worth it. Stop by this great store when you are next in Dublin! I'll be back -thank you!

Most of us couldn't afford to totally deck our houses out with the stuff, but for a high-end gift, it might hit the spot. The items on sale are far removed from merchandise sold in other gift shops, not a 'póg mo thón' plastic apron in sight. This makes it popular with those tourists who look for some expensive authenticity Irish to bring home with them, and who have a few euros to spare. It's a good place for a wedding present too, or a smaller gift if you can't cough up the big bucks. It's a slightly pretentious establishment (definitely the kind of place might refer to itself as an establishment, it's not a common shop, don't you know), which I suppose comes part and parcel with the business they attract. Inside is kind of airy, ethereal and peaceful - the perfect atmosphere in which to conduct some expensive Celtic purchasing.

What an incredible store!…read more I've never seen anything like it in the States and apparently it's based in Copenhagen but they do have other stores in Europe, one of them being located right in Dublin. The best way I can explain the store is: It's like an IKEA meets Target... does that make sense? The way things are set up, packaged and organized is exactly like IKEA and then the items they sell are things you'd find at a super target. Things for the home, bath, they even sell knitting/crochet and craft items. Lot's of snacks and cooky - (slightly weird in a good way) looking designs and knick knacks. There were a lot of kitchen/cooking tools too, and designed, I'd say, smaller than average sized so that if you don't have a lot of space, these things would be perfect. I loved this store, I'm really glad there isn't one near me because I have a feeling I'd spend a lot of money unnecessarily here.

Inside a serious collector stroked a blue dragonfly Tiffany lamp, chatting amicably with the staff. Taking a look for myself I found an incredible mix of old and new, genuine and "homage" pieces on sale for the kind of prices I'd readily pay... if only I had somewhere to put a marble-topped sideboard and six foot mirror. The vibe in this shop is fun and a bit frantic, something which is echoed by the company's manic website, crammed as the store is with photos of new stock and scrolling updates on the lifespan of each location. Next time you find yourself in the market for a gift with personality for the homeowner who has everything, might I direct you to the only shop in George's Arcade that prominently features more than one Betty Boop statue over three feet tall?
