Two of the four we originally ordered were honestly awful and did not seem to be made correctly. However, they were very gracious when we sent them back. Both were remade without any issue, and the replacements were much better. Overall, the food was good. We started with the mussels and lamb chops. The lamb chops were cooked a little more than we would have preferred, but the flavors were very good. The mussels were probably one of the standouts of the night. The broth was delicious with the toasted crusty bread. In fact, we ordered more bread just so we could continue enjoying the broth. For dinner, my husband ordered the bone in ribeye with the baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, although it was a little salty. Not enough to make it unenjoyable, but definitely noticeable. The potato was probably the most disappointing part of the plate. It was literally half of a baked potato with some butter on it. What made this especially odd is that recent photos from other diners show this same entrée being served with a whole baked potato along with butter and sour cream on the side. I'm not sure why the portion or presentation changed, but at this price point, receiving half of a fairly plain potato was underwhelming. Another person in our party ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked very well and served with asparagus and a sauce. It was a much nicer presentation, and everything on that plate was enjoyed. For my entrée, I basically created my own combination. I ordered the sides and sauce that normally come with the chicken entrée but substituted shrimp. Everything worked really well together and was delicious. I personally wouldn't call what came with it a traditional risotto, but Nicole had already warned me that it wasn't your typical risotto, so I knew what to expect. I didn't mind at all because everything together, especially with the sauce, was very tasty. Our friend ordered the branzino. The skin was cooked perfectly and the flavors were good, but the portion of fish was surprising. I've seen and had branzino at many restaurants, and this was probably the smallest and thinnest fillet I've ever seen served for this type of fish. Had I not known what she ordered, I honestly wouldn't have recognized it as branzino based on the presentation. It was an extremely thin piece of fish, especially considering the price. We did not order dessert. Our bill for four people was around $500 before tip. Do I think the overall meal was worth $500? Not really. At that price point, I think the little details matter, and there were just a few too many misses. That being said, we still had an enjoyable dinner. There were several things we really liked, the flavors were generally very good, and Nicole's service was excellent.
