For years I've wanted to try this place, even before they changed ownership, so when we couldn't get an early Valentine's reservation at Eddie V's we decided to finally try it. It's a cute little place in DWG. We dined here a few days before Valentine's (it was also a belated birthday dinner) and the place was pretty empty. We were sat in a corner between the wall and window, which was a little annoying with much nicer tables available. We decided to go all out and try a bunch since this was our first time and a celebration. For appetizers we did the beet & burrata salad and the bread service with ricotta. The salad was ok- honestly nothing that stood out in comparison to having burrata dishes and other restaurants. The bread was very buttery but a bit hard. The pesto really was delicious, the ricotta was pretty good. For entrees we shared the ribeye (with added red wine reduction) and upgraded our side to the risotto. We also added on the two scallops and a side of mushrooms. The steak was cooked very nicely and had a great flavor- although a bit too much salt. The risotto had a nice texture and the scallops were tasty, although again, no wow factor and not worth $27. The mushrooms were not what we expected at all. We thought they'd be the fancy wild mushrooms, but they were more portobello or large mushrooms cut into large slices and the sauce was like an A-1/Worcestershire sauce. We had asked for them with the truffle sauce and was told that was the truffle sauce, but it was very sour and we think it was actually the red wine sauce because on the side was a thicker sauce that didn't taste anything like red wine reduction and had the texture of mushrooms inside. This thicker sauce was way better and what we used on the steak, so I'm not sure what it was, but would never order the mushrooms again - and I love mushrooms. For dessert we tried the cheesecake, which again for the price was pretty small. It was good, but have had much better (and bigger) at another local place. The cocktails were ok- the hotworxx was not spicy (which I liked) but still wasn't something I'd get again. My partner tried both the Vibes and the LiveTrends, and he preferred the vibes. With dessert I ordered the Swalty as I thought it was going to be creamy and heavy - so more for dessert. The vodka was so overpowering and it was not creamy or sweet at all. Honestly, wouldn't recommend this. Overall, the dinner was a bit underwhelming and nothing wowed here. It felt pricey to be pricey, not because it should be. The service was OK, they didn't do anything for my birthday or for our Valentine's celebration, so if you are looking for that, it's not here. I think if we returned we would probably sit at the bar and just get some wine and their charcuterie board, which looked great in reviews. Not sure this is the place for cocktails. Oh and they charge a 3% credit card fee - for anyone that would want to know this.

This establishment was amazing. It was so cute and intimate. It was large but it didn't feel like it. Alejandro was an amazing server. His old fashions were wonderful. We chose the bread service and the pumpkin seed pesto is packed with flavor. We got the 12oz steak with the baked potato and broccoli and added the 2 grilled colossal shrimp. The shrimp was an unexpected underdog. It was so flavorful and leaves you wanting more. Will definitely return. This time, we eat first. It was so delicious. Please go to this restaurant.

The atmosphere, service, and amazing food are unparalleled. Crabcake is the best I've ever had. My husband's steak was perfect.

Five-star service! I can't rave enough about this place! The entire experience was top-notch, thanks in large part to the amazing staff--especially Devin. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the various wines and steaks, and his pairing suggestions were spot on. Devin was also extremely pleasant and made sure we never felt rushed. The atmosphere is exceptional--this place is more than just a restaurant, it's an experience. I highly recommend trying the 18-ounce ribeye and the lollipop lamb chops--the red wine reduction sauce was hands down the best I've ever had. The staff was also very accommodating when it came to food allergies and preferences. We're currently following a carnivore diet, and they made it so easy for us. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation--you won't regret it. Enjoy!

Only came for some good drinks and they were pretty good. The bartender was very friendly! I've heard so many good things about this place I can't wait to try the steak

So first I want to the ambience was amazing, the decor, the music felt very relaxing and just a nice dinner setting! The waiter was nice and friendly and there would only be one very small nitpicking complaint that I will say later. The lamb lollipops were cooked well and a must get, personally I felt they put too much sauce on them, but they were still very good and I would get them again. My wife loved the sauce that there was so much sauce. The steaks were cooked perfectly, but you would definitely have to like that char taste if you were to love them. I enjoyed it but I am not a fan of that char taste if it overwhelms everything else. But it was still very good. The shrimp were also very good! As for nitpicking, overall it was a nice evening and the food was food but I will always compare it to other places, and for the price vs quality it is on the higher end. Not terribly priced but definitely overpriced for places that have steak that would blow it away. Kres has a 12 oz for $62 and it is melt in your mouth cut with a butter knife, this was 10 oz for $74 and you're not cutting it with a butter knife. Also, my very small complaint is the waiter did not tell me my drink cost per drink for a simple coke, not only that but they fill the entire thing with ice so in 2 gulps it's gone and it's $6 dollars per drink! So I guess I was shocked when the bill came. So they should let you know it's per drink, or at least give you a cup of ice and a full drink with it... But it was a good restaurant that I am glad we tried and I would overall recommend because of the ambience and decent food, but being in this area there a ton of steakhouses to try so not sure when we will be back.

I Took my wife to Matthew's Steakhouse in Downtown Winter Garden for her birthday. It's a small, intimate local steakhouse--not part of a chain--which I always like to support. The vibe inside was solid: cozy, bustling, and with an open-flame grill setup that lets you watch your steak being cooked in real time. Nice touch. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu. No complaints. We started with the crab cake, which was decent. Warm lump crab on top, buttery, with remoulade on the side. Tasty, yes--but at $32, it was riding high on price for what it was. I went with the 18 oz. ribeye, medium-rare. Great crust, well-seasoned on the outside, and cooked close enough to order--I'd give it a 7 out of 10 on execution. The steak was definitely the highlight of the meal. Now, here's where it dipped a bit: the sides. The steak came with a lone roasted potato that felt like an afterthought. It was plain--slice-it-yourself style--with a tiny butter cup, sour cream, and a sprinkle of salt. For the price point (think Ruth's Chris or Del Frisco levels), I expected something a little more thoughtful or elevated. Same goes for the roasted peppers I ordered on the side. For $18, I got halved red bell peppers drenched in what they called a parmesan cream sauce--but let's be real, it was alfredo. Not terrible, just... uninspired. But the real surprise win? The wine list. Well-curated and off the beaten path. Bonus points for featuring wines from Oregon's Willamette Valley, which made my wine-loving heart happy. Overall? It's a solid local steakhouse with some charm, but the value proposition is where I hesitate. For the price, I think some of the larger chain steakhouses edge them out in terms of overall experience and polish. Still, I wouldn't write it off completely. It's one of those once-in-a-while kind of spots--nice for a special night if you're in the area, but not necessarily a go-to for your regular steak fix.

Apparently this steakhouse has new ownership and if you haven't been in a while, its definitely worth the visit. Run by a super sweet husband and wife duo, this steakhouse is a new favorite. The wife came by all the tables to greet everyone and make sure everyone was doing well - I loved this personal touch. Sometimes they have love music but otherwise its generally quiet. Great wine selection. Tender meats seasoned to perfection. OH, and don't forget the bread service - one of the best I've ever had. Stop by! You won't regret it!

Came across this gem on instagram and decided to book a reservation. Nestled in Winter Garden's downtown area, decorated so nicely this time of year with Christmas lights. Once we steeped inside the restaurant, it was so elegant, and dimly lit. If anyone knows why restaurants do this, it's to set a mood and tone down your other senses so you can taste your food better . ;) I ordered the 18 oz steak and split it with the hubs, and it comes with a complimentary baked potato and you can order your sides a la carte. We got broccoli. Our waitress, Sarah was so friendly and helpful. We definitely will be back!

Came here for a birthday celebration with my partner. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived (early dinner) but immediately the restaurant gave a regal ambiance. The service was incredibly warm and friendly, but they did not refill water quickly enough in my opinion. The steaks were great, but they were a bit too charred on the outside in some parts, while being slightly underdone in the center (ordered medium rare). I wish the restaurant offered something other than a baked potato as a side, but I'll admit, it is a good potato. The butters and sour cream on the side are a nice touch.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Matthew's. This was exactly the experience I was hoping for. From the moment we sat down at our table looking directly at the wood grill, we felt like this was special and we were special. The owners are a husband and wife team who walk around not only assuring quality of food and experience, but also visiting with the guests. I really enjoyed my conversations with them both. A wine off-menu was recommended to us and I cannot express how outstanding the Cab Sav was. The label was Elyse and what a wonderful wine. Each wine on the list seemed to have an interesting back story. I wish I heard them all! For an appetizer we shared the drunken mussels. If you enjoy mussels, these are a must have. They were perfectly cooked and the broth was other worldly! For dinner, I had the 6oz filet and my husband had the ribeye. Steaks we're both perfectly cooked. Both steaks came with a roasted garlic and rosemary butter (LOVED) and a salted butter. You also have a baked potato and sour cream. Although we were totally stuffed, can't leave without dessert. One of my favorites is a tiramisu so I had to have it. I made sure to take a picture so you can see in the cross section that every lady finger is soaked in espresso! I can't stand a tiramisu that's dry. Loved the tiramisu and would recommend it to others. We ate every bite. I would absolutely come back and recommend Matthew's. What a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion.

Asparagus was cooked perfectly, but there was so much on the plate. Feels like they didn't have very many people ordering it so they wanted to go through it before it went bad. Steak was tasty. I just wish it was a little bit thicker, but it was cooked perfectly. My husband got the Flo fillet combo with the lobster tail. His steak was perfectly cooked. The french fries were good and so was the broccoli as well. His biggest complaint was they didn't have buffalo trace for his old-fashioned.

The drink and dinner menu are always delicious as I had a vodka and tonic and my daughter had a margarita!! We started our night with stuffed mushrooms which were so creamy and a good size, they were delicious and moved onto a large salad with dressing-so big I couldn't finish it. For dinner we had Flo's filet and an Outlaw Ribeye, all came out medium as we asked and did not disappoint! The steaks were of good quality, cut like butter and the perfect size! We love walking in and checking out the decor, which has some pretty interesting wall hangings! A favorite is the huge Buffalo above the bar(where you can eat and watch sports on the overhead tv's). I was happy we had some food to bring home! We had a family picture taken and left feeling full and well taken care of! We will definitely be going back!
