I participated in the 2026 Magical Dining experience. It was great. I had heard really positive things about this place and was getting to experience those things myself. For my appetizer I chose the artichoke dip and pita bread. It was warm and very good. For my entree I had the steak (cooked medium well), broccoli and mushrooms. Also very good and cooked to my liking. I was so full from dinner I couldn't eat my dessert. I didn't take a picture, but had the carrot cake (and ate off a few of the the sprinkled on walnuts). I highly recommend this location. Very good food and our waitress was very personable solidifying the positive ambiance. I did not use the restroom so I can't speak of it. Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with Back Room. They seem to be trying to create a fine-dining experience, but the food just didn't match the price. Both my husband's and my steaks were cooked incorrectly, and neither steak had much flavor. The mushrooms tasted like they came straight from a can, which was disappointing for a restaurant at this price point. My husband ordered the coconut shrimp and said it tasted old, and he ended up getting sick the next day. I can't say for sure that it was from the shrimp, but it definitely didn't leave us feeling good about the meal. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, so she was definitely a bright spot. And I have to give credit where it's due--the chocolate cake was really good and probably the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the actual food was mediocre, especially considering what we paid. We turned the special blackened mahi mahi and the 16oz Boneless Prime Ribeye - Tender, rich & juicy with an extremely smooth texture. Removed from the bone for easy carving, this robust flavored steak eats like butter, into a surf and turf for the both of us. The sides were shared as well. Steamed Broccoli Florets, Smashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Sweet Potato Fries Drizzled with Honey, and Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts. All of which were amazing. It was a lot of food. This is our second time here and it's just so freaking good. You would never know it's such a nice spot given the plaza it's in. Our waiter was super friendly. I had an extra dirty martini that I didn't get a pic of but it was probably one of the best, if not the best one I've ever had-and I've had a lot at a lot of places. It came with the big blue cheese stuffed olives and it was perfection. The spinach and artichoke dip is hands down the best around. The pita chips are fried and perfectly crunchy, and the dip is so creamy and delicious. We ran out of chips but kept the dip to put with our meal and that was absolutely the right decision lol. So we've been my number of different times now and and this visit I actually made it past the stakes in the menu. I noticed that they have a 12 oz hamburger, 12 oz! Not only was it one hefty 3/4 lb Burger but it had gorgonzola bacon jam onions more bacon it was so freaking good I have a problem now as I have to figure out if I'm going to get the 12 oz ribeye the prime ribeye or if I want to get one of their badass burgers. I ordered the stuffed shrimp which was not stuff. The crab meat was put on top of the shrimp. I ordered the crabcakes which was not edible. I had a pineapple martini drink, which was not good. About a week ago, I ordered the filet mignon and lobster tail with a loaded baked potato, and it was absolutely amazing--perfectly cooked and worth every penny. That great experience made me excited when my husband suggested we order from Backroom Steakhouse again tonight for a cozy movie night at home. As always, the service was excellent and the atmosphere welcoming when we picked up our food. Unfortunately, the meal itself was a huge disappointment compared to last week. I ordered my filet mignon medium-well, but it came out so undercooked and bloody that I ended up throwing most of it away. The lobster tail, on the other hand, was the opposite--overcooked and tough, nothing like the tender, flavorful dish I had before. We spent $223 on this meal, and it was frustrating to have to toss my steak in the trash. I didn't bother calling to complain because I didn't want to drive all the way back for a replacement. Honestly, Backroom Steakhouse has always been a bit hit-or-miss for me. When it's good, it's fantastic, but the inconsistency makes it hard to rely on. My husband and I went to this steakhouse to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. The restaurant is just about 8 minutes from our house so very convenient for us to have a nice meal. Our waitress Tracy was awesome! She gave us the best service we've had in a long time. We started with drinks and an appetizer. The fried calamari was made to perfection and tasted very delicious. My espresso martini was also great! My husband ordered what we call at home the house special: 16oz ribeye steak (medium well), baked potato and salad. We had a nice experience at this steakhouse overall for magical dining. The service was excellent--our waiter was attentive, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We really enjoyed the appetizers, especially the Short Rib Egg Rolls with tender braised beef and cabbage paired with the ginger beer dipping sauce, as well as the classic Shrimp Cocktail, which was fresh and flavorful. My husband ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it. I ordered the steak, which was cooked well, but I wasn't overly impressed with the preparation--it seemed like it may have been cooked on a flat top, which gave it a slightly unusual texture for a steakhouse cut. The highlight at the end of the night was dessert. We loved everything we tried, and the Key Lime Pie in particular stood out--you can definitely tell it's made in-house with fresh ingredients. The place is loud, so a bit hard to listen my partner while having a conversation. Also, the restroom was a bit dirty. I tried the short ribs egg rolls, by themselves they lacked flavor but it comes with a beer dipping sauce that enhance the flavor a lot. For the main course I went for the upgraded 16 oz ribeye. What an amazing time we had at the Back Room. It wasn't upscale but it was relaxed and comfortable. Our server was friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised with every drink we ordered as well as the food. Apps were the braised short rib egg rolls. They were big, filled with beef, hot and flavorful. We also ordered the sticky Korean pork belly, and just wow! Sticky and delicious. After eating those apps, we could barely finish our meal. For entrees we ordered the seared baby lamb chops. Although I was not feeling well, as he had gave me his cold, I still made the reservation and got ready to go! Decided to pop into this neighborhood steakhouse for Prime Rib Night on Sunday. Made a last minute reservation for 4 with no issue. We were seated within 5-7 min of arrival in a booth as requested. Bread and butter was brought to the table right away. More bread and butter was delivered to the table with no issue. A delightful server by the name of Sierra, waited on us while also attending the bar. She did it flawlessly and her personality was upbeat through the whole meal. 3 of us got the Prime Rib and one of us ordered the NY strip. Everyone's meal was great. Maybe a little too much salt on the Prime Rib for my taste, but otherwise everything was great. The desserts on the menu looked fabulous but we were all too full to try them. Once our food was ordered and put it our entrees came out rather quickly. Dessert was brought out before asking if we were ready or if we wanted boxes. Checks come. And I'm confused on whether or not they have a cash register. My mom paid cash and or waitress was stressed trying to find change. She asked other servers. But it took about 8 minutes to get. We visited this establishment for dinner on July 5th to celebrate a family milestone. Given our many previous visits, we expected a meal that would be worth the price. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. One member of our party ordered a chicken dish served on a bed of asparagus, which was alarmingly undercooked and had a texture reminiscent of wood. Another member paid extra for bacon Brussels sprouts, which were also undercooked, burnt, and nearly raw. Additionally, another guest ordered a steak cooked medium well, but it was served with a bloody center and very little browning on the sides. We raised our concerns about the vegetables with our server, who returned with vegetables in the same unsatisfactory state. These were not meant to be served al dente, as we had previously enjoyed them in a delightful manner. I made four attempts to reach out to management or the owner, but my calls went unanswered. We are not looking for a free meal; we simply wanted to inform them that something was off that night and hoped they would address it. Our server was amazing. We chose to order off the Magical Dining menu. All items are normal menu size except for the artichoke dip. It is a smaller portion than usual. We started with the artichoke dip and the short rib egg rolls. I really liked the egg rolls. They were jam packed with meat and I loved the sweet chili dipping sauce. This is a very delayed review as I thought I already wrote one! We dined at Back Room Steakhouse over the summer after learning about it from Orlando Weekly. We don't go to Apopka much at all but it sounded good so we figured we'd take the drive out there. Back Room is very unassuming, it's located in a modest shopping plaza, easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. My boyfriend and I each ordered an Old Fashioned (they have many varieties of Old Fashioneds if thats your thing) and elected to do the Bite30 menu. Like I said, this review is overdue but Bite30 includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. We each ordered our meals and bread was also delivered to our table. The portions of all items were great and the taste was excellent too. We both got steaks (because you kind of have to at a steakhouse, right?) which were cooked correctly and I got the short rib egg rolls for appetizer. Went to Backroom with my wife and friends. Everyone had been in the hospitality industry at one time . I am a corporate Chef and once owned a fine dining Steakhouse downtown Orlando. Food and service were amazing. We all said it was the best steak/ meal we have had in many years. Not pretentious at all . Owner was waking the dining room talking to guests.
