My Boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's Day here at Outback. The restaurant in Vero Beach was extremely busy. We did not have a reservation but when we checked in our 25-30 wait lasted approximately 7 min. Isaac was our Server who was professional, kind and very uplifting. Service was fantastic and efficient. Embarrassing to say, I also left my purse inside the woman's bathroom. To whom it may concern, Very rarely do I ever write a letter such as this. Tonight we visited the Vero beach Florida location with a very regrettable dinner with friends. While the meal was very late and poorly prepared the most concerning item was the lack of a manager coming forth with a person to person acknowledgement. To be more descriptive the potato soup was watery, the salad had dressing already applied although ranch, which was ordered, was provided separately and both steaks were overdone and cold. Again, our server apologized for mistakes not of his own and did his best to make things right. It is my understanding Joey Johnson was the manager on duty. As a business owner, in the future, I would encourage Mr. Johnson to reconsider his actions and be more proactive to confront the customers when things go wrong. We are all human and if you are in business, you will have days that just go south. Update: I'm updating this from 1 to 3 stars because I'm honestly very impressed. I received a call from the owner today just to talk about what went wrong and how I felt they could improve. She was so friendly and genuinely interested in how they could improve. She took full responsibility for her team. At no point was I asked to update this, but it's very rare that owner of anywhere especially a larger chain actually cares enough to reach out. -- We placed a take out order tonight. When I got there the parking lot was a wreck. I parked across the street and walked over. The takeout area was a mess. There were just a bunch of people standing outside the takeout door waiting for someone to help them. There was zero organization. There were people that had been waiting for so long they cancelled their order after waiting there. Luckily, our food was ready like 15 minutes after it was supposed to be. The whole place was just a chaotic mess. The burger was medium, it was supposed to be well. The rice was in the same container as the burger wrapped in foil? The chicken was so dry I could barely cut into it. We basically just ate our sides and appetizer. They 100% should have cut off online orders way before they did. I would have rather been told "hey, we have way too many orders right now so we aren't taking anymore," then pay for crappy food and sub-par service. read more

I called to make a reservation for my wife. I told them it was her birthday and we would be there a 630. At 630 we arrived with our party to be told rudely that our table was given away and we just have to wait until it's ready again. To top it all off, I told the person who took the reservation about the previous horrible experience we had at Outback for her birthday and they still treated us this way. Would not recommend this place and definitely don't count on your confirmed reservation being available when you arrive. read more

We went to Outback for Easter Dinner. It was not a good experience. We were walked to the booth in the back corner near the bathrooms and a broom and dustpan was leaning against the chair. The guy put the menus down and walked away. The waitress was rarely seen. Never came back to see if we needed anything. Came to the table and noticing the food was not there 20 minutes later, said she was surprised the food was not out yet. "I'll go check." Never asked us if we wanted desert. (Answer would have been no.) The Men's bathrooms were dirty/stinky. We all said at the table we could have gone somewhere else - Olive Garden or Carrabba's. The restaurant manager was nowhere to be found. Very poorly trained staff, IMO. It's a small town. I'd guess the crowd we saw wouldn't give it a second thought. There was a wait to get in. I ordered steak a couple of times to go. After this dinner, not going back again. (Steak was ok, Baked Potato tasted fine.) The service was the issue. read more

Meatloaf looked like it was from a cheap 1960s frozen on-cor dinner. Terrible taste. Dry. Sauces were worse. Fries not fresh - room temp at best. Bread was good. Sat at the bar and was ready to order but the bartender seemed to think the regular he knew took precedence over my order when I arrived 10 min before the guy. He brought bread out and a Palmetto bug came out of the bread so I told him and he didn't seem too concerned.Told me thats Florida!? The original review was written prior to departing the restaurant. When I returned to my hotel my stomachs wasn't feeling right. Within an hour I began vomiting repeatedly and had diarrhea. It would appear after not eating most of the day and this having been my main meal, I may have contracted food poisoning. I've been on the mend for a few days now. There may be some hygiene issues or food preparation concerns that need to be looked into. Was visiting my aunt and uncle and we decided to go to Outback for an early dinner. I got the Steakhouse Salad. I asked for ranch dressing and it came out drenched in some type of vinaigrette. I just really wanted ranch. I should have known better to get the dressing on the side. The steak was good. I should have sent it back, but we did not have a lot of time. Not sure what is up and how difficult it is to get orders to come out correctly. I don't know that the electronic order taking devices help. read more

We hadn't been here for several years and decided that we'd give it a try again. It was really good. We ordered a couple of their specials and were extremely happy with our choices. The House Salad could not have been better! Tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, onions and croutons, nice and cold, and a very generous portion! The loaded baked potatoes were good sized, and the steaks were done exactly as ordered! We were too full to eat our cheesecake, so we took them home. Our server, Brenden, was not only attentive but friendly and looked like he enjoyed his job ( which always makes dining out a pleasure). The owner introduced herself and the people who assisted our server were also attentive and friendly. We noticed some dishes being taken to other guest and now can't wait to return and try them! On 10/19/24 I took my son to the outback in Vero Beach. From the moment we entered we were acknowledged and seated. Cleanliness was my first observation. Our server was Serena, a pleasant likable young lady. My son is disabled but Serena took his order without skipping a beat. While waiting for our meal, I observed her interacting with three other tables she was serving. She engaged in conversation with each table amicably. When our meal was served it was just as requested. Also she gave us time before dessert was brought out. I let her know how pleased I was with her service. She was happy, smiled from ear to ear. Shorty after the manager, Kathleen was walking around. She was friendly and professional. I relayed my positive thoughts to her. I had lunch with some friends yesterday at my local Outback steakhouse restaurant. I ordered mash potatoes with chicken and mix vegetables. Our meals took a while to be served. When my meal was served, I notice there were potato skins included with my mash potatoes. I was not happy because I like boiled potatoes, butter, milk and salt in my mash potatoes. I do not add potato skins when making mash potatoes. I would not recommend customers ordering the mask potatoes unless you like the potato skins in your mash potatoes. read more

Ordered online and got response it would be ready at 6, I asked for 6:15 but didn't get the order until I had waited outside for half an hour. There were 12 people waiting which included 3 Uber drivers with one getting cancelled because of the wait. I hadn't paid online and could have walked away but stuck it out. The steak was barely warm and overcooked even though it was ordered Med rare and my drive home was only 10 minutes. You need more staff or better mgmt because one runner was bombarded. My wife and I stopped by the Outback Steakhouse for lunch this week. It had been ages since we'd had their shrimp Caesar salad or their Blooming Onion - with the pandemic, we simply had not eaten out. So, to put it mildly, we were looking forward to a really nice lunch. First: none of the staff were observed to be wearing masks. We're in the middle of one of the worst health crisis in history and these people are not wearing masks. WTF! Our first disappointment was our waitress. If restaurants or other places which deal with the general public allow their employees to wear tattoos, at least require them to wear long sleeve shirts to cover them up. A lot of people don't have tattoos and find them distasteful, so why allow your employees to flaunt them? We ordered a Blooming Onion and two Shrimp Caesar Salads. It took longer for the Onion to arrive than we remembered, but it was burned - so naturally that took longer. Ugh. The waitress didn't apologize for the condition of our Onion, so we figured "well done" was the status quo for that menu item. Disappointment # 2. Finally our salads arrived. One of our pleasant memories of these salads was the dressing. Easily one of our all time favorites - until this meal! Ugh! Disappointment # 3. Outback had changed the dressing formula for their Caesar Salads - and we didn't get the memo! Ugh! Instead of the world class dressing we had remembered and to which we had looked forward, we got a tasteless substitute that I would not serve to anyone! Plus, every piece of shrimp was not only overcooked, but burned! Check out the photos! I wouldn't serve this to my worst enemy! The shrimp were inedible at best. Disappointment # 4! Ugh! We ate around the burned shrimp and agreed we should have eaten at home. To put it mildly, we could have eaten better at Taco Bell. Outback has some issues and they cannot be blamed on COVID! This pure excuse for a dining experience can be placed on management for not hiring employees who know what a quality meal is and who refuse to deliver anything but, the cooks who prepare the meals and the wait staff who refuse to put crap on the table! It is clear that The Outback Steakhouse in Vero Beach has no clue about what customers expect. We won't be back anytime soon, and we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Ugh! read more

11/23/2018- LUNCH REVIEW Love the feel of this particular Outback. We were greeted and sat at a high top right away. Our server was friendly, helpful and efficient. We ordered two glasses of wine. The wines are by ounces six or nine oz, we went with nine oz. Prices are reasonable. After looking at the large variety of dishes and pictures on the menu, we decided to share one of the lunch specials. I ordered two Fish Tacos with a fresh side, I choose the vegetable medley and we also ordered the Chicken Breast with a side of shrimp with two fresh sides, a double order of broccoli. The tacos were very good, the fish was fresh and plenty. I thought the price for four piece of shrimp on a kabob was pricey at $4.99 plus the shrimp was pretty small. read more

New Year's Eve 2022, dinner party of 3 We had guests from out of town in for the holidays and decided on Outback Steakhouse near to our home for dinner on New Year's Eve and our wedding anniversary. We ordered salmon, steaks, salad, asparagus, appetizers, soup and drinks. The small steak was served on a huge plate, the asparagus on a separate plate, after asking for salad dressing that never came we proceeded to eat our salad with no dressing, the broccoli cheddar soup was hardly lukewarm and the worst soup I've ever tried. We had no less than 4-5 different servers, one taking order, others delivering food, and their right hand didn't know what their left hand was doing and zero communication amongst this server group. A reflection on management and lack of training. 4-5 months prior, we went there for dinner, husband got served and mine did not arrive for another hour. That time a manager was called and we informed him of the fiasco and he wrote on his business card "1 free dessert on next visit" however we never went back to claim that but due to traffic and close proximity to our home, we decided to give Outback Steakhouse another try on New Year's Eve/Anniversary mentioned above. We are done indefinitely with Outback Steakhouse and do not recommend it to others under any circumstances. This is the only Outback in our town so they might get away with this lack of customer service and operating under pure dysfunction however we will not contribute our hard earn money for less than mediocre service. The good news is, there are plenty of restaurants nearby like Bone Fish Grill, Carabba's, Olive Garden (next door to Outback) and plenty more up and down 20th street and near the beach even some oceanside. read more
