**INITIAL REVIEW** For the classic late night worker or 3rd shifter back in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, Denny's was a quintissential locale for places to dine during the night owl hours. Along with Waffle House, Steak n' Shake, and certain Ihops, Denny's kept those who chose to stay awake while many others slept, well fed. Unfortunately, Denny's time has gone a bit to the wayside, and as a whole, find it troublesome to keep up with the up-and-coming kinds of restaurants that attract both old and younger crowds. For this Denny's, however, it seems the stars align in their favor. Not only does their staff, both waiting and cooks, do their job well thus making a visit pleasurable in service and flavor of food, it is located in a truck stop near busy crossroads of major roadways in Florida (I-95, Florida Turnpike, south of SR-60 and Yeehaw Junction). Ergo, this Denny's is busy, which might also equate to the better service and food, which I haven't seen in general in years at a Denny's. Even though an address is given, this Denny's is located on the westside of the Orange Ave. exit of I-95 in the Flying J's truck stop gas station. As of this review, I've eaten at this Denny's twice, and both times have been fantastic. Since this Denny's is in, as mentioned earlier, a truck stop gas station, there is ample parking. The Denny's itself is on the southside of the building. Upon entering, there are some relics of the past as a line of crane machines line the wall. My waitress both times, Melissa, has been fantastic in keeping up with my order despite one visit being minimal in patrons and the other being quite busy. Aesthetically-speaking, it is a Denny's, but there is some local charm such as the "You Are Here" map art ablazoned across the north wall. And I did not take a picture, but there was also some decor utilizing vehicle tags, too. The two times I came here, the Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice collaboration special was happening. I ordered two separate meals from that menu. The first a grilled cheese sandwich with mozerella cheese sticks in the middle. The second was specialty small pancackes with icing and toppings reminiscent of Beetlejuice colors. The grilled cheese was good but suffered the blend of cheese on top of cheese with no real flavor difference. Still filling, though. The pancakes were fantastic and makes me consider ordering more "dessert" pancackes in the future. The typical sidelore of food, such as bacon, eggs, toast, and sausages were cooked well, too. I am happy to say such as I've been to many breakfast places that get the basics wrong. The price is a-okay and understandable for what you get. However, they do have a menu for the budget-friendly as they've finally brought back the value menu ($2, $4, $6, and $8). I got some small things from the menu and they are good for the price you pay. On a sidenote: restrooms are located across the restaurant and are techncally more part of te restaruant. They were good in cleanliness, which is techincally a good thing for a gas station. Ultimately, I would eat here again if I ever pass by. Is it a first choice? Probably not, but this Denny's is a solid choice if i am every in the area and want to find simple breakfast food without having to go too far from I-95 or the Turnpike,, read more

Pay attention that this Dennys is on the West side exit. Not marked very well for directions. At first it seems a bit odd because is part of a gas station however the place is clean and the service was kn point. The food was good and the prices very adaptable. Once you are done eating you can walk the gas station where they have laundry service as well as clean bathrooms. Place gets packed so make sure you get there early enough to get ahead. read more

I saw the picture outside your door this morning - turkey dressing mashed potatoes gravy - it looked so good - I bought two to go. We ate them for dinner and we were sooooooooooo disappointed if I hadn't paid so much for it we would have thrown them away. The turkey was so dry (and I covered it with gravy too) I almost choked on most of it- stringy very chewy-crunchy etc. If you are going to sell these to go (I doubt if I had it in your restaurant it would have been much better) you should match the picture. We were scammed and cheated out of two dinners. The dressing was in pieces chunks dry- The mashed potatoes and broccoli was good. I won't ever get it again there.I bought two of them ugh. However I had breakfast and my friend had a hamburger. The eggs were supposed to be over light yolk very runny and one was well done and one was edible so I returned them for two more. Your average run of the mill Dennys with the generic food you can get from any other Dennys or diner style places. This isn't my first choice but on my recent trip home from Orlando everyone in the car wanted to get food so we stopped here. The staff seems to not want to be working and the place is a little is disarray but we were seated quickly and there were a few other parties in the place. I ordered a grand slam and when I got the food it was decently quick and yet still cold. I needed my hash browns heated back up and I have a feeling they just zapped them in the microwave to avoid wanting to cook more. The eggs were cooked nicely and the pancakes were nice sized so I can complain too much. Food is good priced but I would suggest trying to hold out for other food if you can because it's very forgettable, this location. read more

Wow don't usually give anyone a two star but here is the deal. One guy literally running around waiting on people. I ordered $4 value slam, poached med eggs and bacon. Eggs were over cooked. Bf had chicken Burbon skillet. His chicken was over cooked , the vegis were burnt and hardly any sauce he said. It was one of the worst. And we aren't that picky ya know??? If he would have come around and asked... but he didn't. After I heard a new cook in The kitchen we didn't even want to screw around. The table behind us had issues too ( got a disc ). This location is nice and inviting. Greeted right away with a smile. Restaurant was clean and orderly Our Waitress was most courteous, prompt in service and requests. Even the manager on duty came by to see how everything was. Impressive, especially with this chain because that rarely happens. The food was great, iced tea perfect! I'm very fond of this chain especially given the fact of my profession being a truck driver. They can serve me a hot, prepared to order meal at any given hour. These restaurants can be hit and miss with service. But with this location, you will find what you expect with the Dennys charm. read more

Choose this place if you want to get insulted by their waitress! I asked the waitress about a vegetarian skillet. She said they can't do that and she didn't know what's in the dish if it's not on the menu. I was hoping she would say that she would ask the chef. However, that didn't happen. She said she will come with our waters while we look at the menu. After about 20-25 mins she returns I asked for water. She replied, "don't you see I am by myself?" I was caught off guard with her this brilliant customer service and quite honestly shocked! Then, she told me I need to learn my manners. She started talking to other customers about us right in front of us. I asked for the manager she came leaving all her customers and started arguing in front of the manager. Her manager's reply was " oh she's frustrated because she's alone". I understand this is Denny's and probably shouldn't expect much. If I could give this place a -5 stars I would. We got in there was seated and had our drinks. We ordered our meal the appetizers came out and we got mozzarella sticks with no cheese inside of some. My brother ordered a sizzle plate that's supposed to come out hot to the touch and the guy carried it out with his bare hands it was cold( looked to be cooked in microwave). My son's chicken sandwich was dry but bread was soggy. Mine and my husband's hamburger look like they scrape pieces of leftover hamburgers that people didn't eat and put on our buns. We were given forks but no napkins. We had to go and ask for the check and when asked how the meal was we told him everything was horrible either cold, bland or burnt. This location has really gone downhill. We entered and waited as employees kept walking past us with no one acknowledging our presence just ignoring us. Finally we were seated and we asked for a small Oj and a large Oj, They arrived the same size, guess it was too much bother to say they only have one size. I ordered the 55+ Starter breakfast and it was written so tiny on the menu that I didn't know you had to choose toast, biscuit or English muffin and my waitress didn't ask me any questions she just brought me pancakes. I didn't want pancakes, I asked for crisp bacon and that must have been too much bother also. The hashbrowns were very greasy. I know this is a truck stop, but I still expect better. My uncle's a truck driver and he was in town staying at the Flying J so we met up with him for dinner. 2 nights this week, same horrible service. Friday was the worst. We sat down and ordered our soft drinks and food. From there, our party of 4 was abandoned. Our drinks came - and went. No waitress in sight. 45 MINUTES went by before she showed up with our food and offered us refills. It does not take 45 minutes to cook a couple burgers. Food came out lukewarm. Burger had been sitting so long in the window the pool of grease had soaked clear thru the bottom bunk and it disintegrated. I should clarify: the restaurant wasn't even half full. Came in for dinner and despite what others have said the food was good. The only thing is the service was a little slow and one of the waitress really had a bad attitude. After we arrived they got super busy and the service severely slowed. It was on prom night and not sure why the place was filled with high school students in prom regalia.
