We stopped in on our way home, we had the BEST food & SERVICE! I would recommend others to drop in! Im glad they open the whole day. Its very inconvenient that Texas roadhouse opens at 3 in the evenings. Regardless, I love Outbacks Toowoomba Salmon! thanks for great food and service!

Bleu cheese pecan chopped salad, not really all the chopped.

So, I was leery about which Outback to go to, because none had great ratings. I had a gift card to use, so I drove from New Orleans to Slidell to use it. I was seated immediately when I arrived. I got my bread and drink quickly, but took a bit to get my order in. The server came right back to tell me they were out of the prime rib I wanted and suggested to ribeye. I decided to go for it and added the garlic sauce. I got mashed potatoes and the chopped blue cheese pecan salad. They brought the salad first and it was not what I remembered from the last time I got it. It used to be really finely shopped and all mixed with the dressing and I loved it. This tasted similar, but just didn't have the same appeal. The bread was freshly warmed/baked, but the butter had no real flavor. I tried to add salt, but the salt on the table was a grinder and was no longer working. The steak was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, the potatoes were also pretty bland, but I just ran them around in the juice from the steak. The server seemed stretched pretty thin, but I know how hard it is to get and keep help and she was pretty attentive. I definitely think the restaurant is more in the 4 star range than the 3 star that it is rated on here.

Blooming onion

Ordered the blooming onion as appetizer, entre ordered ribeye medium rare with side of Caesar salad and baked potato. Got the appetizer and 5 minutes later the salad then 5 minutes later the main course. WTH Outback!!! I didn't have time to eat either the appetizer or my salad. It's like I was being rushed to eat. By the time I got to my steak it was cold and raw! The cooked did not understand medium rare! A very disappointed customer that had to dish out $87.00 for a crappy experience. Not going to come back. Texas Roadhouse is a lot better!!!

Ok Folks I'm tired and crabby tonight. Drove from central Florida to Louisiana today. Just wanted a drink and a hot meal. Outback right across the road. Bar and food!!! Wife and I sat at the bar. We'd been in the car together for 10 hours! Waitress was chatty! Nice. Ordered water and then we must have become invisible. Finally we flag her over order drinks. And food. We decide to split a meal. We are late 70's and just sat in the car all day. Got the salad...some places divide and serve it but it's ok we have been married 55 years and can eat out of the same dish. Waiting for our drinks which we really came for. Finally interrupt the bartenders chit chat and ask if we could have our drinks. Oh, she forgot. We are sitting directly in front of her! Meal comes. One plate. No extra plate. Suppose we should have asked but we did say we were sharing. We can cut it in half and we have the now empty salad bowl. Plenty of food. Good food. Some places do divide meals. Oh well. Asked for check. Why do they like to make people wait to pay? Ugh. Traveling through so won't be back but if I was, I wouldn't.

We decided to give them another try since it had been a few years and we realized we had not been missing anything. 1. We did the call ahead at 6:15, the guy said it'll be 30 minutes. We walked in the door at 6:43. The guy tells us we wood be seated at 7pm...we did not call for reservations, but we went outside as we were asked and waited for the text. The text never came so we go back in at 7:05 & the other front end person says we were marked "already seated" 2. The server was nice and attentive, but not very knowledgeable and honestly she was ok with that 3. The mushrooms were very good, the chicken was a little greasy and the new steak dip was DRY! Nothing like what was advertised. It was just okay and we won't be rushing back

Popped in on Wednesday night. Got seated immediately. The bread was fresh & kookaburra wings were delicious. It wasn't crowded at all , the toowomba salmon would've been perfect if my salmon was well done. The mushroom sauce was a little watery & not as flavorful. The broccoli tasted like it was drenched with oil. The server didn't want to be there she wasn't attentive at all.

My pitiful 15.99 prime rib sandwich. Where's the beef????

The food is good here but the portions are small for the price. Stock up on the free brown bread ... that stuff is awesome.

Some meals feed you. Some meals fill you. But every now and then, a meal grabs you by the taste…read morebuds, smacks you across the face with flavor, and makes you say, "Lawd have mercy, this is what eating in Louisiana is all about." That was our night at Gallagher's in Slidell. We started like locals do: I had the chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, while my grandmother went straight for the turtle soup. Both bowls hit the table with the kind of depth you only get when somebody's been stirring that pot with love, patience, and a wooden spoon seasoned by a hundred Sundays. That gumbo had the holy trinity preaching, and that turtle soup could have converted a non-believer. Then came the knockout round. For me: an 11 oz filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. For my grandmother: pampano fish with mirliton stuffing. Now listen, I've had a lot of steaks in my life. But this filet? This filet was different. This filet was butter-kissed, seared on a 500-degree plate, and cooked so perfectly it practically sang "When the Saints Go Marching In" with every bite. Melt-in-your-mouth good, eyes-roll-back-in-your-head good. I would've licked the plate clean, but with 500 degrees of molten butter, I'd have left Gallagher's looking like a crawfish boil accident victim. Worth it? Maybe. The pampano and mirliton stuffing? Out. Of. This. World. Seasoned like somebody's MawMaw was back there in the kitchen making sure you didn't leave without remembering what real Louisiana food is supposed to taste like. And then there was Desiree Faith. Let me be clear: the food at Gallagher's was phenomenal, but she was the reason the night became unforgettable. Desiree doesn't just serve. She elevates. She embodies. She executes at a level that turns dinner into an experience and guests into family. Serving, when it's done with this much purpose and precision, is not a job. It's a calling. And Desiree is the benchmark. The gold standard. The one every other server in Louisiana should be taking notes from. She read the table like a seasoned conductor leading an orchestra. Every move, every check-in, perfectly timed. She anticipated needs before they became requests, delivered everything with warmth and grace, and carried herself with the kind of presence that makes you feel cared for, seen, and valued. She wasn't just part of the meal. She was the heart of it. Exceptional doesn't even begin to describe it. She made such an impression on me that when the check was signed and the plates cleared, I hugged her. That is the kind of impact she leaves. Gallagher's should be proud beyond words to have her. She is not just a rock star, she is the lighthouse, the benchmark, the living definition of impeccable service. Gallagher's isn't just a restaurant. It's a front-row ticket to Louisiana flavor, hospitality, and soul. You leave full, you leave happy, and you leave knowing you've just been part of something special.

A Standout Louisiana Brunch…read more We had a family brunch last Sunday, and Palmettos on the Bayou was exceptional. The Sunday Brunch Buffet offered an impressive variety, and everything we tried was delicious, especially the tender ribs, flavorful brisket, and the perfectly chargrilled oysters. The view was unique and right on the bayou, which added a relaxed, scenic backdrop to the meal. With live jazz and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere, the whole experience felt distinctly Louisiana in the best way. Friendly service, great food, and a beautiful setting made this a brunch we'll gladly return to.

For reference I've had acme, Dragos, superior seafood, New Orleans food and spirits. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly fried with boiled shrimp and a cucumber salad and remolaude on top. WOW! The shrimp were a party in my mouth. The bread pudding was also arguably the best in the area. Slightly firm, but incredibly moist, topped with cream and apple slices. Also, Natalie went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. We'll go back often and ask for her. I do also appreciate restaurants were it seems there are working together to and sure customers have what they need The only downside was the bar tender didn't offer smiles. She had a very firm and unwelcoming look that didn't seem to go with the rest of the culture.
