We ordered take out last night, a half order of ribs and coconut shrimp with a chopped side salad. The ribs were fatty and where the meat was edible, dry. The coconut shrimp was overcooked, as if it had been put in oil again to warm it up from lunch. The chopped salad had old lettuce, two small pieces of blue cheese and three or four small pieces of pecan. What we did eat sent us to the tums bottle. It's a shame, because the area could support a good outback. read more

I order out from Outback every once in a while. This is the place you go when you want a good meal and you know you won't be let down. Every time I order my food comes out within 15-20 minutes as promised. It's hot and always delicious. As soon as you order make your way to the restaurant and pull up for curbside pickup. The servers are always nice and even though the line may have a few cellars in them, you are not waiting forever. They also have done in. Outback doesn't disappoint! read more

My friend and I had dinner there tonight and I want to let everyone know that all staff are wearing masks!!! It made me very comfortable while we ate our appetizer of Ausie Shrooms then dinner. Delicious and so many shrooms!! We both had the filet with a baked potato and a side. Our steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. Most impressive was our waiter. I think he said his name was Dean, but I'm not positive. We were there at 5:15pm and Dean was right there taking our drink order and appetizer. Delivered our drinks and took our order. Not only was he waiting tables he was also the bartender. I was very impressed with his service! Thank you. read more

Everytime I go to Outback (aka Cutback) I see why they are struggling everywhere. This location was DEAD at 6:30 p.m. I called ahead to alert 7 were coming for dinner- was told no problem will get a table set up for you. We arrive- no table set up. Ok, no problem. Then they tried to cram 7 people in a booth... I was argued with when I asked for a table "Oh we would have to move 2 tables." I asked so nicely and explained our need (plenty were available) so the hostess calls the waiter and says "they want us to move the tables" and rolls her eyes and makes a face! Really?? Then, I had to beg for pickles for a 6 year old- was told they are for the burgers only...umm, ok. We go to order and were told the ovens were broken. Meant no baked potatoes, etc. Not even mashed....ok so can we get a premium side instead due to the inconvenience free of upgrade charge- no. What? So the choice was veggie medley. Great. This was kind of fine until the table next to us got baked potatoes. -_-. We were then offered sweet potatoes. This was a party of 7, drinks, appetizers, meals, deserts all around, I felt we were treated like we came in and ordered water and ate the free bread- which was hard anyway. My greatest peeve here was the rudeness of our server to my special needs teenage son. I could hardly believe it. I am sorry he has asked for ketchup- twice- but to rudely tell him to just sit and be patient is out of line in my opinion. Upgraded to 2 stars from 1 for good food. Steaks cooked properly, order correct. But if they skimp the salad anymore it will be a few shreads of lettuce with a cheese garnish. Bottom line, we will never be back. Plenty of other very good restaurants in this area. Only a matter of time until this one goes out of business. 10 years ago or so they cut the "no rules, just right" slogan and it shows. read more

My steak was perfect. Had the 12oz sirloin. Seasoned well and in fact I didn't need the a-1 I requested. My wife's steak undercooked. They brought it back and was still undercooked. Sent it back took 15 minutes. Eventually steak came out medium well. My Caesar salad was over dressed but good. Daniel our server was prompt, polite and made sure our every need was met. The castaway cocktail was perfect, crisp, light and refreshing. 9:45pm place was pretty slow after dinner rush so we thought the food would be a little more spot on. The lobster Mac n cheese was so underwelming. It was the worst part of the meal. The other servers came by and were polite and prompt. Bathrooms were clean. Daniel followed up even though my wife's meal sucked. He did a great job. Offered to make our drinks to go. He offered dessert menu ideas but we were full and over waiting for her steak to come out. I was completely done with my meal before her final steak arrived. Finish strong cooks. Don't take short cuts near end of service. Period. Sincerely, Chef Jacob read more

Made a reservation online. I selected a time. When we arrived we were told it would be another 50 minutes! Ridiculous!! Customer service stinks! Go somewhere else and don't trust the online reservation. What a scam and deceptive business practices!!! read more

Not just this location but several others seem to be serving low quality meat. I asked for a Ribyeye in the Houston area and it tasted more like a flank. Strange. Thought it was just a simple mistake but it has happened several times now. read more

I came here for a last minute dinner date with my friend. We started with an appetizer of their new Aussie Bloom, it is their Bloomin' onion topped with cheese fries and sirloin steak. The onion was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the sirloin was tender and yummy. Next, we tried the lump crab cakes and grilled shrimp skewers. I am pretty picky about crab cakes but these were the best I've had for quite some time. The garlic aioli sauce could use more garlic though. Our main dish was the Center-Cut Sirloin. It was seasoned well and cooked medium-rare, the flavor was great but I would of liked it a bit more tender. The signature potatoes that came with it were creamy, flavorful and my favorite part of the dish. Finally, we finished our meal with their 6-layer chocolate cake. I am not a huge fan of cake but this one was mouth watering. The cake was a dark chocolate with chocolate shavings and a raspberry sauce, a perfect way to end a fantastic meal. read more

What a fascinating restaurant, food was good and service was amazing, definitely coming back.

We have been happy every time we have come. The owners has stopped by our table to check on us many times.y kids request to come here. They love the milk shakes. My husband signed up for emails and this time we got a free loaded bloomin onion. Bacon cheese fries on top of a bloomin onion. What is there not to love? read more

Always have loved coming to this Outback. Service is good, food is good. Can't go wrong with onion mum. shrimp on the barbie and cheese fries apps. I love their fresh salads (with ranch) and their fish entrees. Alice Springs Chicken is also really good. Great location! read more

We arrived tonight with quite a few visible empty tables, six in my sight from the front door. The hostess made us wait for half hour for some strange reason. We arrived at 7:40p and they don't close until 9p, so I don't get what's her problem. read more

Rib eye sandwich. My bf ate a piece he dropped on the table (my biggest petpeeve). When I fussed, he says "I want to eat the little bit of meat that I actually got!" I posted a picture. It's ridiculous. We actually paid for that? Yes. But never again! read more

Kristun at outback in Slidell was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to come back and sit at her bar. She was entertaining and on the ball with hospitality and friendliness. Drinks were perfectly executed and the food was faced paced and delicious. This is mine and my friends new after work spot for cocktails and apps !!! read more

Well we stopped in on our way to Nola on 4th of July. Hardly anyone there but only one bartender who was also serving bar tables. Service was very mediocre compared to other bar service restaurants. She seemed to be at the tables and never behind the bar. We had to wait awhile for reordering drinks. Not her fault. I think they were skeletal crew due to holiday. Food was good but served slowly also. read more

It has indeed been a long time since I've been to an Outback. And this most recent visit proved to me that my family and I should make an effort to return. In the near decade since I've eaten at this chain, they updated the interior, but made everything low lit. The food was just as good as I remember, but with one caveat: No amount of spicing will overcome the preservative taste of non-fresh shrimp. My wife said her tilapia was delicious, though. And although the shrimp were less than stellar, my steak more than made up for it. My son loved his chicken fingers (although it takes a lot to screw up chicken fingers). To round out the evening, my son and I had the sundae, which was excellent. Lastly, I would love to give a shout out to Ray, our wonderful server. He was conscientious and attentive, and willing to put up with minor requests (The Boy could not stop eating the yummy bread). Will definitely go back! read more

I live in Algiers, on the Westbank in New Orleans, and I routinely drive to Slidell to go to THIS Outback, even though we have several closer to us, this restaurant is outstanding and far exceeds any other Outback we have been to in our area. We have gotten up and walked out and paid for just drinks at the Outback in Metairie, and we have had some of the worst food and service at the Outback in Marrero, but at the Outback in Slidell, we have always had excellent service and tremendous food. We went most recently on March 10th this year in honor of my daughter's father's birthday. This was the last restaurant we all went to as a family. He passed away in 2013 and this was our way of celebrating him :). We return here often, and we have never had an issue. They treated my daughter to an Oreo shake when they found out why we were there and why we refused to sit at another table even though the light was shining RIGHT in my eyes. The manager (I wish I could remember her name), and our server were so kind to us on such a somber occasion, I couldn't have asked for nicer people or better food. Thanks so much and I look forward to coming back again and again! read more

We ordered Three meals today for curbside pickup from the Slidell location. My wife ordered the two Lobster tails because the photo on the their web site looked so good. It looks like two medium to small tails. Well , when I got home and we started our meal , I was shocked to see two tiny pieces of lobster meat on her plate. They were less than 3 inches long. This cost us $22.50 . That is so wrong . VERY disappointed to say the least. The other two meals were Baby back ribs for me and A small Fillet mignon for our son , both were good. read more

It's an Outback. One of the better ones that I've ever been to, but still an Outback. You've eat an Outback before. You know what's good. You know you love that Alice Springs chicken. You know they're gonna have Foster's on tap and usually a Sam Adams or two. THIS Outback has an extraordinarily wonderful front of the house manager with great staff in the front and back of the house. One thing I will say though, is that the new "modern" decor sucks. It sucks BIG time. They should go back to the good old Outback with Australian themes, boomerangs and dijeridoo's on the walls and stuff. The "new" decor REALLY sucks. Other than that, everything else here is good! read more

I'm reviewing the takeout portion of the restaurant. Having never ordered takeout from Outback I wanted to see how close to the same food I would get if I were in the restaurant itself. The steak was good and cooked as I specified. The vegetables were good as well. The only downside would be the house salad it came with. The lettuce and the tomatoes were wilted and brown. Not very appealing. I hope they would serve it in the restaurant like that. For the price overall it was ok read more

Ordered takeout for dinner very early during the day today so it would be ready to pick up on my way home around 8:00pm. Everything was hot and ready on time and as ordered. Last week, came during lunch time with my best friend and we had to alert the hostess that we had been seated for 10 minutes and the waiter had not come to take our drink orders. The hostess got our drinks. Food was good as always, though onion blossom slightly overcooked. Steak ordered medium rare, cooked perfectly, seasoned well, salad fresh. If not for the slow service, 5 stars. Plenty of parking, has station next door, right off interstate, though a little difficult to get to due to congestion from merging at the red light. Also, must cross 3 lanes of congestion to get to the light to turn left into parking lot when coming from New Orleans. From the other direction take a left off interstate and you will be at the aforementioned pesky red light that is 90% congested. read more

I came to Outback Steakhouse order my To go order left and came back to pickup my order left on my way home going to New Orleans had to turn around and come back to get a refund they messed up my whole order I'm not satisfied with this one the funny thing is I came in the restaurant to place my order read more

Always a pleasure to eat here! Jenna was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. The only thing better than the service was the food. The Victoria's filet was cooked rare as asked and was a good cut of filet (as it better be -although this is not Flemings or Ruth Chris), however the French Onion Soup (not on the menu) was a bit saltier than I'm used to. They kept the drinks coming, and our waiter (Jordan) was patient (poor guy had to repeat the steak options more than twice heh) and attentive. It was not busy and I was a bit hesitant to try steak in a seafood area but I got exactly what I ordered and everyone left full and happy with their meal. read more

Underwhelming and overpriced. Not what it used to be. Baked potato was shriveled up and very dry.. Like it had been baked in the morning, sat in a warmer, then served at dinner. My son got chicken tender plate (not a kids meal) and no kidding had 10 fries.. yes we counted them because it was comical. Also, the chicken tenders seem like they just come out of a box of pre-packaged, frozen stuff like we use at home. Now I could be wrong on that, but it seems like they used to actually bread the chicken in house then fry. Not the worst meal, but... MEH!!! Bread and Salad were excellent. read more

The service was really good unfortunately later in the nite I got sick and threw up just the steak. I had a little ribs, bread and fries with it and just the steak came up. Not sure what's the deal but it just didn't agree with me. I'm kinda scared to have another steak there now. Also they was out of mash potatoes but had bake potatoes so just curious why they couldn't mash that up, I mean its the same thing unless they to lazy to do it or to dumb. read more

The steak Quesadilla was disgusting. Tiny sprinkles of some kind of meat only in the middle and burnt cheese on the edges. Its not slices of beef as shown but literally sprinkles. Left me starving. Taco Bell's quesadilla is 1000 times better than this junk. Do not go there for lunch, you will leave hungry. read more

This is the worst Outback I've ever been to. We love Outback and have been to several. We were glad that there was one in Slidell when we moved here. Every time we've gone there, there's an issue. Either severely delayed service, terrible food, flat drinks, or all of the above. We decided last night, after our fourth visit, that we're not going back. The chicken pasta had burned toast, and was so strongly seasoned it literally tasted like Indian food. It was awful. The crab legs were so over cooked they were like leather. Disappointing. read more

Today my husband and I stopped by for lunch. Instead of steak we had pasta. We ordered the Toowoomba pasta, and Queenland chicken and shrimp pasta, with salads. AWESOME!!! Great new remodel and the food is now better than ever. They have updated their ingredients and it's much tastier. The fries were cooked perfectly, I remember them usually being a little soggy.
