Everything was excellent. Our server, Kelly, was outstanding and the bartender Jonny makes a great cocktail.

I've never been to Outback Steakhouse, and I was surprised at the delicious food they had to offer. The only thing I do have to say is that the filet 6oz steak, wasn't worth the $40. I've been to many steak houses and feel as if I have a pretty good idea as to what steaks are worth for that amount of money. For my family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 toddler) drinks and appetizers, our bill came out to about $176 I've been to many restaurants and I just didn't think this was all worth the price. I would say 3.5 if I could for a first visit. Probably second time I've ever eaten at one. It was Sunday Easter night. We live nearby and ventured to check it out. Knowing well that it has barely been open and probably there would be kinks. Was pleased that it wasn't totally full, so no waiting time. Was seated promptly at a booth. Service was quick, friendly, and was alerted that food might take awhile but I gotta tell you everything came out swiftly and orderly. Bread was served, followed by salads, and then plentiful time Was given to eat the salad when the entrees arrived. Salad was nice size (it's one of the side choices). Over stuffed potato was very good (albeit seemed too salty). Had the sirloin and ribs. Sirloin was very tasty and seasoned nicely. The ribs were a total disappointment sad to say. Hardly any meat to the ribs. Mostly bone. The bbq sauce was I believe salty and sweet but way too salty. My friend had the ribeye and thought it was very good. There was a lot of silverskin on my steak, why? Anyone who cooks steak, should take a filet knife and peel that off before cooking. It was stupid, thick, they should have noticed. The salad, my bacon looked like it was cooked months ago and in a bag before put on the salad. It was very off-putting. The service was ok, not the guys fault. Menus were sticky. Dirty. read more

Called ahead, a waste of time. I was asked to wait 10 minutes, no big deal. For the next 25 minutes I watched everyone before and after me get seated. This included tables with 4 as was my party. I think they just didn't look at the call ahead list. Now the food. I have not been to Outback in years. Another chain is closer and we eat there. I ordered a filet mignon. Cooked medium so it should be a tender, juicy steak. I couldn't even eat it. It was tough and tasteless. What a disappointment. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

If you're in the mood for a chicken, Caesar salad, save yourself, the money and headache and go somewhere else! Had a to go order this past Saturday, and while the chicken was OK, the salad was a few days past its prime to say the least & full of romaine spines. I absolutely understand restaurants wanting to waste as little as possible, but I consider the spines garbage & there were a LOT of them. Did I call and complain to the restaurant? No, because all they would've done is given a pathetic "we are so sorry" apology and offered to replace it. That meal should've never gone out the door & I was already disgusted with them. I wound up throwing the salad & my money away! Shame on your kitchen staff & any sort of quality control you may have. Next time I will go to Toscanella on Kings Highway. My wife and I asked my sister in law/brother in law if they wanted to go to outback and to my surprise we were able to walk right in and get a booth in a matter of seconds. This was a great start to the evening. Our server Laura was very friendly, greeting us and getting our drink order in almost as soon as our party of four were seated. We put our apps in through the little tablet they had and we had a quick back and forth with our waitress about how machines were going to replace human server soon enough or at least a majority of what they do and we always enjoy dealing with people more than a tablet. Turns out we couldn't have been more wrong in our assessment but more on that later. Apps came out in the standard time you think an app should come out so nothing out of the ordinary there. Only knock on the apps would be my sister in laws salad was drenched in dressing but that was a quick remedy with a new salad coming out (dressing on the side). Bloomin onion and cheese fries were exactly what you'd expect. Salty at times, greasy at times, but to be fair if you think those two options are the model of a health choice then you're at the wrong place. Just as we finish what we could of the apps and asked for take home boxes (not that the food wasn't good it's just an old habit of mine) and started to wonder where our entrees were another staff member is heading our way. Catching a glimpse of of the tray through the corner of my eye I'm feeling good because my logic is that the service was good so far, the apps were good, then our main course will be just as good if not better... this was a tragic mistake on my part. As the tray is being brought towards our table for some odd reason the young lady brought it toward us at a 35 degree Ange and the ketchup fell off and flew onto my sister in law getting all over the side of her shirt and pants. This (while accidental) set the tone for what was to come. My wife ordered shrimp, I order a burger cooked medium well (this will be important a bit later) with a side of the Mac and cheese, my brother in law ordered chicken strips, fries, and a side of Mac n' cheese, you know.. the kind of food that's hard to screw up. While half of our party (shrimp and chicken strips) seemed to enjoy their meal.. for myself as well as my sister in law things started off well and went off the rails real quick. Let's check back on my order, a burger cooked "medium well". Now I'll be the first to admit I can't cook to save my life..but what I can do is grill. Medium well (according to me and just about every resource you can find on the web) means no pink. If there was a slight shade of pink that would be borderline and I'm sure that would be fine to most people who aren't picky. I'm one of those people who isn't quite picky but when you order a burger medium well and this thing is pink at every corner (yes I understand it's round please indulge me) we have a bit of an issue. I took a few bites and then started using my hands like a child playing with slime to work through the rest of the patty and if you read this much then I don't think I'm spoiling anything but informing you it was indeed pink throughout. When I brought this to the attention of our server her response was "well that's our version of medium well". Here's the thing with standards folks, they are standards for a reason. It's like going to a store to buy Tylenol and they hand you a gallon of bleach and say "well that's our version of Tylenol". Some things in this world just are. A pink burger isn't medium well... no matter what "your" version is. At the same time my disappointing discovery was being made my sister in law took a bite of her grilled chicken only to spit it out saying something didn't taste right. Well reader, if the pink version of a medium well burger shocked you (or didn't) maybe this was continue the shock or at least establish it, the grilled chicken was also pink. I sat there in disbelief because there was no way. When we brought this to the attention of our server her response was "well it looks cooked well to me". Now I'm not a big "customer is always right" type of person but in this situation it certainly applies. At the same time, during chicken gate, while I'm bringing up my burger our server says "well I can put it back on the grill" which is not the answer once a customer has taken a bite/bites out of the item. Her response to my follow up is "well I meant I'd have them make you a new one". Manager came over, the whole deal, meanwhile the server is talking to the party behind us and you hear them talking about us "we used to be in this industry and we're so sorry you have to deal with this type of thing".. I know.. chain restaurant server is very difficult, much like an ICU doctor or a lawyer..right up there. Next time..Don't argue with your customers-If I could it would be zero stars. Avoid this poor excuse for dining. read more

Judging by its name, this Australian themed chain serves mainly steaks and seafood. They are owned by Bloomin' Brands, as to Bonefish Grill, and Carrabbas. The menu reads like a typical diner sans the breakfast bit. The specials are in large print tempting you visually while you make a decision to satisfy your hunger needs. What to choose? Kevin, our server, seemed sophomoric at first but finally rose to the task. We both ordered prime rib, end cut, medium well. I must say it was excellent. I really didn't think it would be. The other parts of the entree were just ok. Chains usually accommodate gluten-free and vegan diets. So ask or go online to scope it out. We did not opt for the blooming onion, sort of a mainstay choice. Alcoholic drinks were happy hour prices $5 and sadly tasted poorly. read more

The staff is great very friendly, informative, professional and oh yes, don't forget to check out the fire pit, the one in Middletown New Jersey. What sets this location apart from other Outbacks and other chain restaurants in the area is the service. The management here really ensures that you have a good experience at this location. Staff here is attentive, efficient and friendly. Food is what you would expect at a chain restaurant. Consistent, good but never really mind blowing. I will say that I had the mac and cheese for the first time and it was delicious. I will definitely order that more often. Definitely one of the best chains in this area. read more

I've been coming to Outback Steakhouse - on and off - for several years now and I always enjoy myself here. With that said, my 4 star rating has to be understood to be based against other similar chain restaurants. I wouldn't be bringing a date here under any circumstances. The food here is good - they have a good selection of appetizers including the trademark Bloomin' Onions. Unfortunately there is no sampler selection, which actually which surprises me. There is also a good selection of entree offerings. Of course this place is known for its steak - but they also offer chicken, pasta and seafood options. Everything is very tasty. Nice bar selection - including some local brands such as Carton. That is always a good thing to see. The staff has always been great when I'm here. They don't seem annoyed to be working which is often the case in this type of place. That means someone is treating them well! I enjoy coming to Outback and won't hesitate to recommend it when you are looking for something easy to dine on that is above fast food but not extravagant like a independent restaurant would be. read more

Our server Laura was fantastic, I tried the gingerbread martini SCRUMPTIOUS and I also tried the strawberry salad DELICIOUS. Mom enjoyed her sweet potato & tea. First the good - order taken properly, picked up and the staff were friendly, on time and well packaged and the order was complete with all requested condiments. Salads, potatoes and broccoli and cheesecake dessert were prepared well and very good. The steaks, 2 bone in rib eyes and 2 small filets were awful. Cooked as requested, but quality of meat was of very poor quality. Gristly, stringy and less than choice product. Would never order these again. My own fault, should have just grilled, but we wanted to take a night off. read more

OK. I am going to do something I very seldom do here in my responses because I like to be fair and give the good with the bad, but today we are going to get aggressive because, Outback -- we need to have a talk. This isn't going to be about the food. No. The food is the food. It's an Outback, let's get real, Outback doesn't mess up much in the food department. There isn't much you can't get at the Outback, aside apparently rice -- which is lame, but I'll save my opinion on that for some other time. Just to touch on it, yeah I got a steak. It was great, obviously. This is a steakhouse, if the steak was bad we'd have a hellavuh problem, amirite? And I can't complain about the lack of a side of rice because the asparagus and broccoli were stupendous, great job. The mashed potatoes...I mean what'dya want me to say? It's a mashed potato, those are hard to make poorly. They were great. The grilled shrimp? Masterpiece. The water? Cold as it gets. Great job. But no, this rating isn't about the food and drink. I entered this establishment right around opening time. It was me by myself and then one other family eating at a table across from me. It took forever to receive service at start, and it took forever and longer to receive service at the end. I sat there with empty water glass for practically an eternity. Then it took another 3 lifetimes to get my check. This is no good especially with a complete absence of customer traffic at the time I entered. Sorry, I hate to do it, especially to Outback. Don't get me wrong, I love Outback. Outback is family. I'd invite you to my birthday party but I wouldn't let you cater the food because wait times would apparently be 20 years. I'd make you eat the Applebees catering from down the block. Don't get mad. I'm being honest. I make a lot of these reviews, and with me it's not just about the food. I always enjoying this place before but last night changed everything. I ordered the bone-in ribeye the most expensive steak on the menu ($30). I received a hunk of fat and grizzle. The photo only shows half of what immediately had to be thrown away. I know it's dicey ordering a steak in your average restaurant but this is a steak house! And PS, there was no bone. This place has been crushing it lately. I come here whenever I'm in the mood for a steak or a burger. Prices are reasonable, meat is always cooked to the proper temperature (literally have gotten about 75 straight steaks here without having to send one back) service is always beyond adequate (had Kevin last time), and food comes out on point. Bloomin onion, all salads, French onion soup, prime rib sandwich & dessert flight are always great. Place is clean and tidy every time I'm there. I've been using Coming to this outback for five years and usually never have an issue with her I go eat inside or have an order delivered to me but I placed an online order and my sons french fries were missing and they didn't offer to deliver them. I by mistake ordered grilled chicken and not barbecue chicken which what I wanted and the grilled chicken was horrible. It was overloaded in CUMIN. Way too much. When I told the manager she said she was sorry didn't offer to deliver my sons fries or offer me something else they will send me gift cards in the mail, but we were hungry for dinner and had to order from somewhere else after spending $45 for this dinner. Which my son ate a sandwich but again had no side dish and my dinner went in the garbage. read more

Stopped in for a family dinner on a weekend, and boy was this place crowded. The wait was about half an hour (a blessing considering we were told 45 minutes), and they served some appetizers to those who actually chose to wait. Food was OK - exactly what you expect when going to a chain restaurant. I would recommend going at off-peak times to avoid long lines. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our 4-course steak dinner. For a very reasonable price, we each got a soup (the New England Clam Chowder was the best my husband ever had! I took home my French Onion soup because I knew this meal would be more than I could eat!) I had the 6-ounce Sirloin (prepared EXACTLY as I asked for --- rare to medium-rare) and my husband had the 9-ounce for a few extra dollars), a freshly-baked potato, a salad AND a piece of cheesecake. Of course, we enjoyed their delicious fresh grain bread and even the Diet Coke I had tasted fresh, cold and delicious. Incidentally, my dessert came home with me too because I didn't want to tax my stomach. It is now four hours since we ate and I am still satisfactorily full. I forgot to mention it (shame on me!) but the service was wonderful! Our waitress Natalie couldn't have been sweeter or more accommodating and the hostesses were also delightful. Very pleasant young people. The quality of Outback's food has improved so much in the past year that you should try it, especially if you had previously been disappointed in it. read more

Horrible service. Every time I come here my food is cold and late. I called to place a to go order as well and the manager was extremely rude to me. He said they had stopped taking orders at 7! And didn't even allow me to talk. I called another outback and they were way nicer and assured me that they didn't stop taking order until 8:50! read more

After attending last months Yelp event I decided to take my sister and her boyfriend back for dinner! One of the nicer Outbacks I have been to! Ordered well done burger with no pink inside on Christmas Eve for a pickup along with many other things.The burger was pink. What's the point of offering cooking choices on the website if the cooks don't follow instructions. This hasn't been the only time this has happened so I've been ordering less and less. So i had to stop my meal on Christmas eve to take apart the burger and recook it. So much for ordering out and convenience. Also the fried mushrooms are spicy slop. Instant ex-lax. Me and a guest hit the head immediately after eating that junk. Won't be ordering from there again if they can't cook the order right might as well go to burger king or McDonald's drive thru for a 1/3rd the price. The coconut shrimp are good. I'll say we did only go here because we had a $50 gift card. I have only been to an Outback Steakhouse once before in my teenage years and my husband has never been to one. I had two alcoholic beverages that were great. The bread and butter was great. My husband had steak with shrimp, I had filet mignon with lobster mac and cheese. My husbands side was asparagus, and I had 2 sides (as 2 sides came with filet mignon) of mashed potatoes and a blue cheese side salad. The salad and mashed potatoes were good. The filet mignon was horrible. Not soft, tender, and flavorless. To top it off my husband's forgot the gift card. My cat will now enjoy the filet mignon and steak for dinner and breakfast tomorrow. The gift card will be used at Bonefish Grille (same owner's) and I know I do like their food. Note to self: steak and lobster are not too be ordered at chain restaurants. read more

FIrst, let me say I always loved this Outback. Takeout, during the time of the Pandemic leaves a lot to be desired. Ordered take out on 11/8, from Middletown. The Babyback ribs were good, and the vegetables. But, how in the world do they prepare the Bloomin Onion? Did they prepare it 5 hours ahead of time? Leave it off to the side? Whatever they did, it was soggy, and mushy and flat as hell. Not a huge complaint in these times. Of course there are worse things happening in the country. BUT, if you pay for things, one should expect that someone didn't slop it in a takeout container old and smushy. Gotta do better. read more
