Wow! I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary for dinner. Everything here is perfect!!! The medium rare filet mignon is so fresh, tender, and cooked perfectly. I like their Clams Casino appetizers. The service here is excellent. Of course dessert is a must, so we ordered the Chocolate Explosion Cake. The staff who was serving us kept asking how the food was and I have to say it was so good. Nice atmosphere. It's not crazy loud inside. It's pricey but so worth the money.

Wow - what a surprise- we were looking g for a steakhouse this past weekend. Called a few of the popular places but was not able to get reservations. Our friends from Texas were in and we search and came up with Neil Michaels. Let me tell you the food, service, drinks and price were GREAT. I ordered a black and blue cowboy rib-eye. It was chared on the outside and cool in the middle. Perfect, our friends ordered the porterhouse for two and was also cooked to perfection. It is a must try.

It's been too long since I updated my past review which is why I decided to write again. We gave been frequenting Neil Michaels Steakhouse for the past 4 years and have never had a bad meal. We absolutely believe that this is the BEST STEAKHOUSE! And we've been around. This is a stand alone venue with its own parking lot. They have a fabulous bar. The drinks are not stingy - my husband thinks their Margarita is the best he's ever had. We are always graciously greeted and treated with open arms when we walk in. The venue, by the way is handicapped accessible with no steps. Over the years, we have had the best waitresses who are loyal and remember our names. We are seated immediately and they make us feel like family. This past time we ordered clams casino and oysters for a special treat and that it was. Warmed bread is brought to the table and included with dinner is a salad and a variety of veggies on the plate. Our friends tremendously enjoyed their rib eye cooked to perfection and we had the porterhouse as usual. I always have leftovers for another meal. We also ordered a baked potato which is very large to share. We couldn't have asked for more. This is a family-owned business who have put their heart and sole into this. They have followed the Covid regulations and survived. We are delighted to have a home away from home and enjoy introducing our find to all our friends who feel the same way.

Went for dinner with my husband and son who is 7 years old and let me tell you- it was nothing short of amazing. Our waiter- Corey- was absolutely fantastic !! He was on point the whole entire night and would probably be the main reason we will be back. We got a few drinks and appetizers and all got steak for dinner and everything was great !!! The restaurant was homey and had nice decor and we will definitely be back !!!! Highly recommend. Didn't have one thing I didn't like !

Nestled in downtown Woodbridge NJ, this steakhouse is located inside of an old bank! I already knew before entering it was gonna be beautiful! We were greeted by the hostess and owner of the restaurant. They immediately said happy anniversary to us and escorted us upstairs to our table. As i thought this restaurant is stunning. Sexy dim lighting, beautiful chandelier and candelabras adorned the bigger tables. The space is huge. High ceilings and even an elevator. I couldnt resist snapping pics of the aged meat behind the glass. Every detail in this restaurant is intentional. Our waitress Danya was the sweetest!!!! She was so attentive and took time to explain the menu. She checked on us the entire evening. She didnt miss a beat. Even saw that my fork had some dishwashing spots and went to get me another. For the food, we started with fried calamari and crabcakes which were both outstanding! We ordered cocktails which was old fashioned and a bay breeze made perfectly. The main course is the reason u come here! We ordered the porterhouse for two with the truffle mac and Brussels sprouts. Steak has a really nice flavor! I didnt like the truffle mac but the brussel sprouts were delicious!! We were def full but our wonder waitress insisted on a celebratory ice cream with a sparkling candle. It was very nice! Before we left the owner came up to ask how everything was. He was a cool guy and told us a bit about the restaurant and his future expansion happening! I love that he said he use to come to the bank with his parents as a kid and now he owns a restaurant in the space....full circle moment. We truly enjoyed our time here! Thank u for making our Anniversary dinner so special. We will for sure be returning. I have to try the snapper next time!!!

Service always wins in the end, and Char delivers that every time. My office is on the same street, so my wife and I are regulars. We usually walk down around 4 p.m., grab two seats at the bar, and start with a perfectly made cocktail or a great glass of wine. The happy hour specials are always interesting, rotating, and thoughtfully put together, big thank you to head chef Phil, who is absolutely amazing and a true asset to this place. The bar feels relaxed but upscale, which is rare to get right. The dinner menu is both diverse and comfortably traditional, with nightly specials that make Char feel unique rather than just another steakhouse. Tonight we kept it simple and started with French onion soup from the happy hour menu, and it honestly blew me away. It was rich, deeply flavored, and absolutely delicious, easily one of the best French onion soups I've ever had, especially at the happy hour price of about half off (we paid $5.95). We added fresh bread service (no extra charge), and it was warm, fresh, and completely worth the "cheat" on the carbs. We then split a prime rib slider special that was incredibly flavorful for something so simple, it really over-delivered. For dessert to go, we ordered chocolate Nutella chip cookies and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was the perfect way to end the meal. With two drinks, our total bill was $109, which is outstanding value for the quality of the food, drinks, and overall experience in downtown Red Bank. In my opinion, Char is still underrated and remains one of the very best restaurants in the area. Even their Caesar salad stands out, the dressing is spot-on and memorable. James the manager is an excellent asset to Char.

My husband's mom, who lives in town, has been to their other location before and said it was very good, so we were looking forward to trying this location. When we first arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately, which made for a great first impression. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and the grilled octopus appetizer. While we waited, they also brought out soup and bread, which was a nice touch. For our main dish, we decided to share the seafood paella. Once we mentioned we would only be ordering one paella to share, I felt a noticeable change in our server's attitude. I also added an extra lobster since the dish only came with half a lobster. The additional lobster was reasonably priced at $25, but unfortunately it was very overcooked -- dry, chewy, and much smaller than expected. That said, the paella itself had great flavor. However, after the dish was dropped off, I do not recall our server checking back on us or asking how everything was. We finished the meal with the blueberry crumble, which was delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal. Overall, I was not impressed with either the food -- especially the lobster -- or the service at this location. While the meal had some positives, the overall experience was disappointing compared to what we had heard about their other location.

I was especially looking forward to ordering the ribeye and lit up instantly when the server listed it as one of the specials. The server shared that he would need to collect the orders for all of our courses at the same time which was fine with me. I actually had more confidence in the timing of everything for that reason. Our server had a delightful energy particularly at the beginning of our visit. After we placed our orders, everything began to fall apart. It did get noticeably busy since we first arrived, but we ultimately waited for our main entrees for over 3 hours. 3 hours. The table ordered the charred octopus and the oysters to start. The oysters hit the table fairly quickly, but then we began to gradually notice how long it was taking for the octopus to come. I had only a slither of the octopus so that I could say I tried it. Everyone at the table raved about the taste. I did, however, agree that their oysters were delicious especially when dressed with a little bit of mignonette, lemon, horseradish and a touch of Tabasco sauce. I'm excited to now report that I am a fan of fresh oysters from the east coast, because apparently the coast matters. The table also ordered the canaletto stuffed with mascarpone, parmesan and another cheese, langostines and lobster with morel mushroom cream sauce, garnished with truffles. I passed on this one also as it was too adventurous for my taste buds; although, their delicious bread and our drinks did distract me for a little while. The restaurant is BYOB, so we had our wine to keep us company while we observed other tables come and go. We eventually asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't a manager on duty which was either untrue or a very poor decision on the part of the owners considering it was a Friday evening. Having someone occasionally check in with our table may have also helped to take the pressure off of the server who may have gotten overwhelmed or decided to prioritize other tables. Having a manager offer a personal apology may have helped us feel less forgotten about. After the three hour mark, we decided this was enough. I didn't have much to eat at this point, but I wasn't at all worried initially since I was there for the main event, the ribeye. I stopped a hostess who was walking past our table and asked for the manager. We were again told the manager is not here but can be called, if needed. I simply replied, "Please do". Shortly afterwards, I noticed our server who at this time was standing by the host stand briskly walk into the kitchen and then return to our table with our plates. I sent the food back which was a decision that was supported by everyone at the table. Let me tell you, that was a difficult decision to make, but I also was ready to call it a night. Our mood had changed, and I truly felt like we were derservant of having the same experience as everyone else that night. Our server apologized for his part to play in the ordeal which I appreciated since I know his intention was never malicious, but unfortunately we had to call this night a bust. He offered us dessert on the house, and our entire meal was comped which we felt was an appropriate resolution. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bread pudding which was a favorite. Very good. Jasper Stone is a beautiful establishment with decorative yellow and white floral arrangements throughout the dining area. It is clearly a popular restaurant and has many positive reviews. I regret that I could not have a comparable experience.

Sat down and the staff started moving fake bushes around, like a wall to separate us from another party, it was a comedy of errors I have never experienced Took forever to get drinks with super weak pours. Lots of people walking around doing nothing with ear pieces in. The music in the dining room sounds like I am in Belmar. Slow service- for way over priced for average food at best. 2nd round came out way late without my glass of wine and when asked can I get another wine, she looked at me like I was the jerk. Food came out late and was cold. This place is gone in a year. Beautiful place, doesn't fit around here. Overpriced and average at best. The bar is good but watching the people in the front dining room is bizarre. Lots of people standing around doing nothing but dressed nice. When we checked in it took 3 hostesses to figure out where to sit us in an empty restaurant and all looked confused. How many hostesses does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Bizarre day. Took forever to get dessert. No one is here. Again not sure what is going on but the club music keeps playing with empty tables and more employees than guests. I would have died to go to The Brothers in RB instead of this. The food and service are way better by a million miles.
