I did however leave some photos from the past ... the food here is consistently good, every single time we visit. And not only is the food good, but the service is top notch. Today we had Katie as our server and she helped make my birthday celebration special. I wanted to try a new entree but I was really craving my favorite penne à la vodka with breaded chicken, yum. It lived up to my expectations too. Oh and we started off with sharing a caesar salad which was plenty for two people. My husband had the veal parmesan, which he loved. He was ready to take home half of it, as portions are generous. He ate the whole thing ! We were so stuffed there was no room for dessert but Katie was so sweet and brought out this delish little cannoli plate with a fun "fireworks" candle. It really helped make my day special. We ordered the Pasta Al Forno as an appetizer & Chicken Scarpariello for the main dish. Was quoted 35-40 min when I called it in, arrived ~30 min, paid & food came out near the 40 min quote. The pasta - for us the cheese on top was perhaps over toasted as it was on the dry side. Flavor was fine otherwise. Not sure I'd order this for a main dish without added protein though. The Chicken Scarp - excellent. The chicken & potatoes were very tender. The mild sausage makes this dish come together, it adds a level of savoriness to complement the balsamic sweetness in the sauce. I also like the long angled slices of sausage nicely seared on each side, it was not expected vs other versions that I've had. Meal also came with bread to soak up that chicken sauce. Also noting the place seemed packed, only 2 spots on their lot were open plus it sounded busy inside. Will try it next time onsite with one of my many fine bottles of wine. :)

There was corn on the cob, tender light and dark meat, thin noodles, big slices of zucchini, fresh herbs, chicken bone broth, the expected carrots/celery onions and everything is balanced. Tacos and quesadillas are great, I recommend opting for house made corn tortillas. Guacamole is great. Sandwiches and burgers are delicious. The burger is generous in size on fresh bun. BLT is plentiful. The service is caring and friendly. They have tables to dine in, and authentic decor. They are a great addition to Keansburg.

Unfortunately, the fries were cold and appeared to have been sitting for quite some time. More concerning was the chicken, which tasted stale and old to the point that neither my friend nor I could finish our meals. To the staff's credit, I politely shared my concerns before leaving. Rather than acknowledging the issue, the initial response was to defend the food quality. While a replacement was eventually offered, the interaction left the impression that customer feedback was being challenged rather than genuinely considered. Every restaurant can have an off day. What separates good businesses from poor ones is how they respond when something goes wrong. Fresh food, accountability, and customer care should never be optional. Based on this experience, I won't be returning. Bleh!
