Prime rib with baked sweet potato

This is my favorite Texas Roadhouse location. It's always clean and the managers go around to every table to see how things are going. All the workers are visible and working all over. It can be very loud but they are always busy so that can be expected. The food is cooked to however you ask for it and they have amazing steaks. The shrimp are also great! I especially love the chili. I ate it so fast I didn't even take a picture of it.

Came here on a Friday night and had a short wait to be seated for a group of 4. As always, the bread and cinnamon butter were delicious and several baskets were polished off. We appreciated our server bringing us extras so that we could take some home. I always get the chili and it hit the spot. My cousins felt it was very heavy on the salt and pepper, but it was still satisfying. Unfortunately, my pulled pork entree was horrible. It was not "pulled" at all and resembled large chunks of meat. They didn't have much flavor and the only sauce provided was a small container of BBQ sauce on the side. The meat itself was dry. I could only take a few bites before giving up on it. I might come back, but this is definitely an entree I won't be ordering again.

Place was hopping so we sat at the bar, which had immediate availability. The bar tender was excellent. Ribs, bbq chicken, shrimp with salad and sweet potatoes. The house salad is one of my favourites as it has chopped egg and cheese. The food was really great. Shrimp were delicious but just a little salty. Great experience and definitely will return.

This was my first time ever going to Texas Roadhouse. It was decorated very cute which I appreciated. We got to watch the birthday song and the bull you get to sit on that was very cute. For appetizers we got fried pickles which were addicting. I wish I could have endless amounts of the fried pickles. I got 7 oz sirloin with corn and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were amazing. Our server Evenel was very sweet and friendly. She went above and beyond. I will ask for her again the next time I go!

We ordered medium rare Hand-Cut Sirloin, Ribeye steak, Rattlesnake Bites with fries, mashed potato, chili, and beans on the side. The steaks were juicy and tender just the way I like it. Service was alright. We waited quite a while for the person to bring us the forks and napkins... It's packed at night, best to make a reservation. Overall, I enjoyed eating here and their food was well cooked.

I know the business partners are in some lawsuit about real estate and golf and such. Tried to valet. Then said, he you can park yourself. They said it's ok, we aren't here that long anyway. Said ok. Walked inside, wouldn't let my parents sit down if the full party wasn't here. Thought that was weird as this place is less than half empty yet all reservations are booked. Sat down and the staff started moving fake bushes around, like a wall to separate us from another party, it was a comedy of errors I have never experienced Took forever to get drinks with super weak pours. Lots of people walking around doing nothing with ear pieces in. The music in the dining room sounds like I am in Belmar. Slow service- for way over priced for average food at best. 2nd round came out way late without my glass of wine and when asked can I get another wine, she looked at me like I was the jerk. Food came out late and was cold. This place is gone in a year. Beautiful place, doesn't fit around here. Overpriced and average at best. The bar is good but watching the people in the front dining room is bizarre. Lots of people standing around doing nothing but dressed nice. When we checked in it took 3 hostesses to figure out where to sit us in an empty restaurant and all looked confused. How many hostesses does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Bizarre day. Took forever to get dessert. No one is here. Again not sure what is going on but the club music keeps playing with empty tables and more employees than guests. I would have died to go to The Brothers in RB instead of this. The food and service are way better by a million miles.

The Steak Sandwich is absolutely incredible, trust me. Plus, their Pork Chop is amazing when its available. My only negative is that the dress code has become lax over time. I'm not a fancy guy. But for the first several years there was an upscale vibe and guests dressed appropriately which made the experience feel premium. Now it isn't all that uncommon to see guests wearing worn out tee shirts, sweat shirts, flip flops, cutoffs, etc. Nothing crazy, but a collard shirt and no flip flop code would be a fair. With all that said, I love this place and I think you will as well. Give it a try.

My husband's mom, who lives in town, has been to their other location before and said it was very good, so we were looking forward to trying this location. When we first arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately, which made for a great first impression. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and the grilled octopus appetizer. While we waited, they also brought out soup and bread, which was a nice touch. For our main dish, we decided to share the seafood paella. Once we mentioned we would only be ordering one paella to share, I felt a noticeable change in our server's attitude. I also added an extra lobster since the dish only came with half a lobster. The additional lobster was reasonably priced at $25, but unfortunately it was very overcooked -- dry, chewy, and much smaller than expected. That said, the paella itself had great flavor. However, after the dish was dropped off, I do not recall our server checking back on us or asking how everything was. We finished the meal with the blueberry crumble, which was delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal. Overall, I was not impressed with either the food -- especially the lobster -- or the service at this location. While the meal had some positives, the overall experience was disappointing compared to what we had heard about their other location.

We ordered the porterhouse, creamed spinach, calamari, baked clams, the jumbo baked potato, and some pasta. The porterhouse was perfectly seasoned, and it was enough for three people to share. Their espresso martinis were also really good and strong. The only thing I did not like was the jumbo baked potato. It just felt like there was Velveeta cheese slathered on top, so if there's an item I would pass on, it would be this one. Just get regular mashed potatoes. The service was amazing. The owner came out to meet with us multiple times. Our waiters were very attentive and gave us ample time to order. They literally cut our meat and served it for us. The ambience was really nice. It's your usual steakhouse joint, with dim lighting. However, the best part about this dinner was that they seated us in a private room with one other party. Service always wins in the end, and Char delivers that every time. My office is on the same street, so my wife and I are regulars. We usually walk down around 4 p.m., grab two seats at the bar, and start with a perfectly made cocktail or a great glass of wine. The happy hour specials are always interesting, rotating, and thoughtfully put together, big thank you to head chef Phil, who is absolutely amazing and a true asset to this place. The bar feels relaxed but upscale, which is rare to get right. The dinner menu is both diverse and comfortably traditional, with nightly specials that make Char feel unique rather than just another steakhouse. Tonight we kept it simple and started with French onion soup from the happy hour menu, and it honestly blew me away. It was rich, deeply flavored, and absolutely delicious, easily one of the best French onion soups I've ever had, especially at the happy hour price of about half off (we paid $5.95). We added fresh bread service (no extra charge), and it was warm, fresh, and completely worth the "cheat" on the carbs. We then split a prime rib slider special that was incredibly flavorful for something so simple, it really over-delivered. For dessert to go, we ordered chocolate Nutella chip cookies and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was the perfect way to end the meal. With two drinks, our total bill was $109, which is outstanding value for the quality of the food, drinks, and overall experience in downtown Red Bank. In my opinion, Char is still underrated and remains one of the very best restaurants in the area. Even their Caesar salad stands out, the dressing is spot-on and memorable. James the manager is an excellent asset to Char.
