Food is really bad frozen burger patties and pizza that taste like cardboard. This place used to be good but has totally lost it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. It was horrible service. I ordered a penne alla vodka pizza which was mainly only cheese, no vodka sauce and no sauce in general. The waiter was terrible. He barely checked on us. The restaurant was almost empty and it still took forever to get our food. I would never go back here again. When it was time to pay, we had to ask someone else to find our waiter so we could get the bill. read more

Good vibe, bar has plenty of seats and more open than "The Duck" was. Food was amazing. The staff was attentive, efficient, and friendly. Disappointed to see such harsh criticism, but that's apparently the new normal. 1. This is a new establishment so there will be a learning curve as there is at any business. 2. Everyone is short staffed. If you think you can do better ask for an application. 3. If your worried about other people wearing masks, how they wear their mask, or you don't want to get sick, STAY HOME! 4. This is the newest branch of MJs. Visited here with a group of friends who have been regular to this place. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The food was great and decently priced. Considering it was a Sunday night, the place was pretty packed. The place was neat and the overall ambiance was great. read more

I have to say that the food here is amazing . Me and my family come here all the time. The wings are so delicious. but , the soda always has a weird after taste like bleach, I would recommend for them to clean the soda nozzles with just seltzer, then it'll be a 5! The service is always okay but can be a little rude sometimes. But other than that I enjoy the food there. Hopefully they change those 2 things to be better! read more

Just meh. Burgers taste like frozen old burgers. Does not taste like top quality beef. Fries are yuck. Pizza is good but really thin crust like matzo. First thing we noticed was how clean, bright, and open it was. Greeted and seated right away. Our server was wonderful. We ordered the French Onion soup, Big Burger, and the Chicken Francaise. All of it was incredibly delicious. I was especially impressed with the French Onion soup. We will definitely be returning. read more

Abysmal, second time I've come here to order food to go. It took beyond too long and the food was way overcooked. Management asked, what can I do. If I need to explain to you what you need to do to do your job then we have even a bigger problem. Will not be back. This place was way better when it was the Sitting Duck this place is a far cry from anything worth going back to. Even the ambiance is unappealing. Cold, sterile and noisy. Some may like the sports bar experience but if you can't get to go orders right after two visits. Hard pass going forward. read more

This is a new place close to my office and I have been here several times. The dining room is open and bright which I like. The food I have tried has been very good - Sandwiches and Wraps. Next I will try the pizza. The service people are very nice and attentive but really need management to train them on the menu items. I would also note if you are going to request your employees to wear a mask (I personally think this should no be a requirement) they should have to wear it correctly not as a chin strap which just looks silly. This place is absolutely gorgeous. They did an amazing job retrofitting the old Sitting Duck site. With respect to the food, it's alright but nothing that made me want to go out of my way to come back here. Plus, I found the kitchen to be incredibly slow. A pretzel took forever to come out. Made reservations here for Mother's Day for 9 people on Saturday. Was very surprised we were able to get a table. Additionally, we changed the count twice and the restaurant accommodated the changes with no problem.these were the pluses for the day. We ordered everything from the steak and shrimp special to boneless chicken dinner. The food was good to excellent. MJ's spicy shrimp are fantastic. Their burgers good and the steak of the steak and shrimp special was cooked as requested. The garlic shrimp were pretty tasteless, but the French fries were great. All in all I would recommend MJ's at this location. The waitress was superb. Now, the downside. The automatically added a 20% tip. I don't like this practice, but understand why some establishments do it. If you are going to do it, 20% is too high. If you are going to protect the staff from getting stiffed, you have to give something up on the other end. Next, they taxed the tip. When I pointed this out they said they would correct it, but only took a buck off when the tax was $3. That is what really frosted my cakes. Our waitress corrected it by dropping a soda off the bill. Sodas were $3. Last, they added a service fee to the bill for using a credit card. When I entered the restaurant I saw no sign indicating that this was their practice. On my way out I looked again and saw the sign. It was slightly larger than a 3"x5" index card and was hidden behind a basket of some sort. I won't be back. Shady business practices really turn me off. Raise your prices by 5% for christs sakes! read more

Pizza, wings and things I loved coming here. Never really crowded (wonder why?). The pizza "use to be" very good but when we were there yesterday we looked at each other and said at the same time " WTF happened to the pizza?!" Not the same as a month ago. It was definitely "wafer" crust! I had the special filet mignon sandwich .... Where's the Beef? All bread very disappointing. Stopped in for lunch on this rainy Memorial Day. Our server, Laura, was friendly and gave fantastic service. My husband really enjoyed his mushroom burger with smoked gouda and fries, and my chicken panini special was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, and our fries were hot and crispy. I am a local I go to a lot of different restaurants some restaurants for specific things. For this night at MJ's I came into watch some basketball. It was very clear. You're not a regular you're probably not gonna get a whole lot attention if you sit at the bar. I actually felt like I was inconveniencing the bar tender. I asked them more questions than they asked me and I really only asked two or three questions. Food was really not worth it for me if somebody asked me hey do you want to meet up at MJ's? I'll definitely tell them no let's find someplace else. Something tells me this place goes up and down but right now, it's down. read more

Went to the MJ's in Long Branch and not impressed at all. The first issue was when my fiance asked for bread. We were told they don't do bread; not that there would be a charge for it, but straight up we don't serve it. My linguini with white clam sauce came with 2 pieces of garlic bread. The sauce was quite gritty with sand also. He had chicken parmesan with spaghetti with barely any sauce and no garlic bread. Asked again for bread and finally was told there would be a charge but yes, he could get some. Came halfway through the meal. We didn't even get offered parmesan cheese. Finally tagged the server to request it. Needless to say we won't be dining at an MJ's again. read more

Visited the new location in Long Branch and was not disappointed. My friend and I both had one of the burgers and agreed it was the best burger we had in the area in a loooong time. Perfectly cooked, juicy, delicious. I've been here and a few other of their locations several times and the food is always great! I cannot wait to go back for a burger! I will start off by saying it's an awesome food, but the lights were up on stadium level, yours servers hair was draping g all over people's tables and food, we watched 3 servers with no masks, chewing gum over the service station. I've grown up in the restaurant world and this is not okay. Servers/bussers/food runners should have all hair tied back,... our bartenders were amazing.. Corinna and Craidlg were the best staff we came across for a Saturday evening. In a word... TERRIBLE! What a horrible replacement for the Sitting Duck! Don't waste your hard-earned money! No doubt, great renovation, but no serious thought given to the menu or food. They actually have a lot of nerve to even serve what they describe as a hamburger. Much less than even run of the mill and really terrible! Especially, considering they have replaced hamburger central. Just the same standard, nachos and Burger menu and definitely no cooking talent on premises. Should have put much more $$$ into the food, chef, cook,, etc and less into the walls! I will not be returning. read more
