Stopped in with my wife and had a wonderful dinner! The food was great and our server, Emily, was EXCELLENT. We split an order of Coconut Shrimp and the shrimp were plump and juicy. We both had the Victoria's Filet, baked potato and house salad. Everything was prepared well and our steaks were cooked perfectly. Emily was a fantastic server. In my last couple experiences at the "Outback" it was made very clear to me that it needs to stop selling food or doing business of any kind. I rarely give bad reviews but this visit pretty much confirmed that my suspicions that America is dying are true. I went here with a friend and she didn't initially tell me where we were going so when she told me my first thought was "oh hell yeah I'll get a bloomin onion". Now keep in mind that the bloomin onion is the ONLY item that the Outback has that you can't find at every other chain restaurant, and therefore it's a super important item on their menu. I arrived and was greeted by a nice hostess and a tumble weed rolling through. This place was not busy or crowded by any measure. We sat at a table ordered a beverage and tried to order a bloomin onion.....and THEY WERE OUT OF THEM! This is their entire business model, it is baffling how they could allow such a fatal oversight. Now compounding that problem was the fact that my server was the ONLY person working. She was running a marathon while 10 kids sat around watching. It begs the question that with all this labor how it wasn't possible to buy more onions....you know the most common vegetable of all time....am I to believe that they don't have a restaurant depot or a market where they could acquire such rare and precious commodity's? Then I took a sip of my drink and it was the wrong liquor. I was polite sent it back no worries. I had ordered chili as well and it arrived slightly above room temp and was not worth it. Seeing a "business" ran with so little @&$?s to give is so disheartening because there was a time in this country where a man could feast upon a bloomin onion, and enjoy his god given free bread which is now the size of a hot dog bun. The steak we ordered was a bone in ribeye but it barely had a bone (small chip) which made us wonder if we even got the cut of steak we ordered... the table next to us got the wrong cut as well. We had a good experience at this Outback. TBF, we are expecting 6-10 inches of snow today, so maybe staff didn't show up as they freak out about snow? Anywho. When we arrived there was no one at the host stand and no sign to wait or seat yourself. We sat ourselves at the bar where one other guest was seated but there is no bartender. No worries, we have time. (btw, it's lunch time on a weekend) Bar tender arrives, brings menus, lets us know they will be back in a minute to take drink order. We try to be very percise in our orders so they know what we want and this bartender did an excellent job. They were excellent communicators and when they were with us they were totally focused. Not distracted. The bartender was very busy and not just in the bar area where there is both the bar patrons and booths. They seem to be needed elsewhere as well. Again, they seem to be short staffed and this employee was managing all the things. We both ordered sirloin steak (6oz) with baked potato and side salad. This steak is so tender. OMG. Good piece of beef. The salads were fresh. The potato well cooked. Salads were delivered by a food runner after about 15 minutes and our steak and potato came out 10-15 minutes later. It was a Saturday so we had to wait extra for our food which is to be expected. The bartender was attentive. Ordered burger with fries. I was really disappointed my fries had tons of pepper on them. I found out afterwards you can ask them to hold their peppery seasoning. I wish I had known because I couldn't even eat my fries. I'm sure people will make fun of that fact, but I cannot eat a lot of pepper. I am unsure if the menu tells you the option of no seasoning but it should if it doesn't. It might also be nice to let the patron know, in person, that this is an option. read more

We visited this steakhouse restaurant for my birthday, and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a low-key celebration. The food was outstanding. the steak was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. The mocktails were refreshing and well-crafted. The menu offered a wide variety of choices, making it easy for everyone to find something they loved. Our server was attentive and friendly, adding to the great experience. Beware of takeout in Lowell store. They make a ton of mistakes that dont happen when we eat in. Most often issues are wrong orders, missing items, anf items incorrectly cooked. Just happened again tonight. Substituted a veggie without telling me. Thankful i checked in the car before driving away. Both salads had wilted and rotten areas. Likely prepackaged in the fridge too long. Meat undercooked a more fatty that i get in house. read more

This is our family's favorite place. We've been coming here for at least ten years. The filet mignon and lobster tails are terrific. The baby-back ribs are great too. The chicken tenders used to be good but since the pandemic, the recipe is different and they are not great. My nephew swears the Mac-n-cheese is the best he's ever had. When it's peak dinner time, there can be a long wait for the food, but we come early and the food is great and comes out fast. read more

I knew from previous experience that I should bring a sweatshirt. It was 75 outside and felt like 55 inside. I ordered a baked potato and French onion soup. The potato came out cold wouldn't even melt butter. I sent it back it came out almost as cold. I guess their microwave didn't work. The secret to French onion soup is the onions. They were pretty much absent. I like Outback but this was my final visit. No wonder the parking lot was empty. read more

So on a whim my wife and I stopped for dinner. Very nice location, our server was amazing. That unfortunately is where it ended. We ordered the surf and turf. The steak was amazing, I did send it back once because it was a little too rare but came back and it was amazing. My wife had the lobster tail, she found it dried out on the edges and having a pronounced "Fishy" taste. We did call ahead seating were told 20 minute wait, got to the restaurant and told we would have to wait another 15-20 minutes. Would have been ok if they had just said 40 minutes from the get go. The place wasn't busy but supposedly they only had one person cooking so it was backed up and the manager wouldn't allow the host to seat anyone else. Service was terrible we already knew what we wanted so went ahead and ordered our food. We went to wash our hands came back were sitting for another 5 minutes when our drinks arrived. Were sitting another 10 minutes when told they had no baked potatoes or mashed potatoes, so stuck with a ton of French Fries, other child ordered a salad but it had the core of the lettuce on the plate which was gross. Husband ordered brocoli for his meal. The meals came out no brocoli on my husbands plate they said it would be out in a minute, atleast 5 minutes later still no brocoli, by the time it came out his steak was finished so he didn't really want the brocoli at that time as he wanted it with his other food. Again communication is key in a restaurant you had to know you had no potatoes which is a staple when ordering steak and to have none is a little ridiculous. I had a free dessert so were trying to order and the waiter forced us to order on the dumb machine, if he can't do his job why are we tipping him, he punched in the order and left. We ate dessert asked for a paper check and he tried to get us to pay on the machine and we said we were paying cash, he finally brought the check and of course it had the free dessert on the bill, so had to wait for him to come back. Also we did ask the manager to help with the box for the dessert but he wasn't very pleasant and told us he would get the waiter instead of helping. We should have asked for a discount considering the high cost and not getting what we really wanted. If we had been told no potatoes from the get go we would have left. We only go to this location when visiting family so next time we come up we will be avoiding and finding somewhere else to eat. read more

we went online to join the waitlist with an estimated time of 30 minutes. we arrived 30 minutes later and asked about the status of our table. we were informed it would be about 30-45 minute wait. we were told they'll add us again to the list so we'll get our table faster. i'm not sure that makes sense to me. wouldn't adding ourselves to the waitlist on line put us in a better position then being added when we arrived at the restaurant? so 45 minutes passed by and we asked about our table and were informed it's another 30-45 minutes. we literally waited another 45 minutes. we left. we never got a text that night about our table being ready. half the restaurant is empty... more than half. i understand being short staffed. but this isn't about being short staffed, it's about properly managing customers that arrive in order and getting them seated in order. we definitely got the short end of the stick. in short, from the time we joined the wait list, we waited 2 hour... wtf outback this franchise location needs some basic corporate retraining. read more

Another disappointing experience. First off, since when are we expected to give tips when picking up takeout? It's not like we're getting 'served' anything. The kid barely walks 20 feet to bring the bag to your car. But anyway, I always give a tip, and so I did last night. The little sh__ who brought the bag probably thought it wasn't "good enough tip" for him, he didn't even say "thanks for coming to Outback Steakhouse!", much less "thanks for the tip!". The service - Zac/Zach - 2nd to none. The consistency of the "cook" abysmal. It's primarily a STEAKHOUSE one should know how to cook beef to the temp requested (on the other hand they can nail the shrimp for what that's worth). Medium RARE means medium RARE not medium well - not medium...sad - it's the ONE thing that should be excelled at. You may say why do you keep going? As many people have noted, this place is really terrible. I've only gone 2x (1x for takeout, 1x dine-in) and NEVER plan on returning. I mean there is just a complete lack of customer service and a horribly long wait for really crappy low-quality food. The 1st time I went I ordered their meatloaf to-go, the takeout area is a tiny triangle with very little standing room and it was heated in like March, making it super uncomfortable and makes me question food temperature control for the takeout bags with food orders that are sitting there. After I waited 40 mins for 1 dish, I noticed it was just so barebones, barely weighing anything. And missing a sauce that was described on the menu and the potato soup was literally cold, as if it was pre-poured into the container and left sitting in the fridge. The meatloaf looked disgusting like what your high school cafeteria serves - a sad burnt-looking circular piece of fake ground meat. They also provided bread but it was cold and dry, likely leftover and sitting out for days. I went back to request the soup be hot, and the missing items should be corrected. I had to wait for the manager and he didn't say "sorry" he honestly looked unfazed and then they took another 20-30 min to correct the order. He claimed the soup is ladled fresh into the containers- then why is it ice cold? It wasn't any better, I think they just heated the soup container in the microwave, even though I asked them NOT to do that. I only went back a 2nd time b/c I had a gift card, dined in and the waitress took FOREVER to even take our order, also lacked any sort of pleasantness or attentiveness. The burgers I ordered they mixed up the sauces which is BAD b/c I'm allergic to mustard and mine had the mustard sauce on the bun. My wife and I ordered takeout from the Outback on Reise Ave in Lowell this afternoon. Horrible: she ordered a 6 oz sirloin steak cooked medium. The steak was grissly. It was like trying to cut through rubber. I ordered a hamburger medium and asked for tomato and onions with fries crispy. The hamburger was medium well and they squirted some cheap yellow cheese on it. The meat was dry. The fries were far from crispy. The total was $35!. This Outback franchise has never seems to bounce back from the Covid shutdowns. We visited our neighborhood location in Lowell MA for an early dinner. The restaurant was hopping but not overly busy. Our waitress was excellent. She was pleasant, engaged, and super with her southern (mid-western) demeanor despite the shortfalls in the kitchen. After a pretty decent wait, our salads arrived about 60 seconds before our entries. The table beside arrived a solid ten minutes after us, ordered a blooming onion and was enjoying their appetizers before our salads left the kitchen. ????why I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Pasta which arrived with no Chicken. The waitress offered to make it right and tried to get the elusive chicken with no success. We ended up taking the chicken in a to go container long after our meal was done. Overall the dish was bland and mostly mediocre. We also ordered the shrimp on the barbie as our second entree. Sadly it was over salted to the point where we could barely eat one or two. Those also ended up in a to-go container. The overall experience was less than appealing and disappointing because we have always found this particular location to be a reliable go to when we wanted a quick local dinner. read more

I haven't been to an Outback since I worked there in high school in 2006. I was craving some nostalgic favorites - the bread, bloomin onion and Alice Springs Chicken. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised how good it was, just like I remember! The food was on point, service was wonderful and drinks delicious. I frequent higher end restaurants more as an adult than in high school so I wasn't expecting fine dining, but I was really happy that everything tasted just like I remembered it and everything was really well prepared. Lunch was absolutely scrumptious! I had the never ending soup and salad with both the potato and French Onion soup and the never ending salad. So many choices. I picked the Blue cheese pecan salad and substituted the blue cheese with cheddar and it was sooooo good. While my sister had the 6 grilled shrimp on the Barbie. Accompanied by the delicious French Onion Soup! Yummmmmm! Amber was stellar with service today! Matt, Zack, and Alicia are also always on the top of their game as well! Had to ask twice for silverware, and straws 5. French onion soup had no onions. 6. Never got a refill on soda 7. Waited an hour for our food. Ended up telling them we'd take it to go.. 8. Got home and the 2 prime ribs were cooked well done (and not medium rare).. and no au jou.. baked potato was plain and not loaded. 9. Just had the worst experience at the outback steakhouse in Lowell. Got there at 6 PM and sat there until 8 PM until our dinners came out and everything was cold The service was so very very slow the people beside us were sleeping. We waited 15 min for drinks and it was a water and a coke nothing special had to ask for place settings. Our waiter would take off and wasn't seen again for a very long time. It wasn't that busy. I was there on Friday, and did a take out order and asked for the bread to be included. Went to the bank to tip the take out girl cash. Asked her if there was bread in bag, she assured me there was. I would have opened the bag there, but people were behind me with their keno cards. I do not live close. So I go home,, no bread,,,,I called and spoke to Ashley who said a manager would call me later, Monica or Hailey, and here we are today Monday and nobody has called me.
