They either charge $3 extra per pound or they charge you for an extra half pound or they just add a tip without telling you so if you do go there just be careful. I love this place!!! I would say it is my favorire Brazillian restaurant. Food faire is very tasty with the variety of meats served right off the skewers ...! For some odd reason, I love the white rice ~ it has great flavoring. My other huge favorites are the bacon wrapped chicken and the potato salad ...MmmMMmmmmMMMMMmmmmm!!! Found it funny that a past review claimed a service dog wasn't allowed in because the cuts of meat that they served me and my friend was something that could only be eaten by a dog. Quantity vs. Quality I just ate here with my family, and was pretty disappointed. It's a diner setting, almost empty--now I know why. I kept saying "yes" to more and more meats, hoping that the next would be edible--it never happened. Everything was dry and flavorless. Even the rarer meat somehow was dry. The side dishes on the buffet were--sorry I have to say it--gross. You can get all you can eat for $19.95 or pay by the pound. Thank goodness we paid by the pound for our 17- and 14-year old daughters, because they barely ate anything there, except the french fries and the chocolate flan for dessert. Disclaimer: I've been spoiled by several high-end Brazillian restaurants who set the bar really high, so this little establishment couldn't really compare to my other Brazillian food experiences. However, I still have some tips to help you get the most out of your experience... We arrived on Wednesday evening, just before 7 pm. The blank stares on our faces were dead giveaways that we had no idea what to do after walking in. The girl behind the counter was very friendly in explaining our options, all of which included the small buffet of fruits, veggies, beans, rice, spaghetti, and stews. We could either load up a to-go box, which would be weighed and priced by the pound and be on our way, load up a plate to be weighed and eat in the dining room, or load a plate from the buffet and have the meats come to our table one-by-one in a never-ending fashion. Not knowing which meats we would prefer, we decided to go with the sit-down, meat delivered to the table option, priced at $21+ per person. Now that we've tasted most of the meats, I would most likely choose to go with a weighed plate or to-go box since the amount of meat we ended up eating didn't look like much more than what other people had put on their plates. Apparently they don't have a consistent selection of meats every day, so we were unable to try some of the items which were listed on their website. The seasoning on the chicken was really good, the pork ribs were pretty tasty, the sausage had decent flavor, and the garlic beef was good. Everything else we had wasn't very memorable. My first time through the buffet, I skipped the stews, but after reading some of the reviews here, I went back to make sure I tried some. The black bean stew had a really nice combination of flavors- perhaps the most interesting item I had. I also got to try the Guarana soda, an import from Brazil, which had its own light but unique flavor. We noticed a poster that said live music was to start at 7 pm, but when we left at 8 pm they still hadn't started yet. Bummer, because I would have loved to hear it. Overall, it gives the impression that it's mostly a fast food place with the way that the buffet and dining room are set up, but because they serve alcohol and occasionally have live music, you also get the sense that you could hang out for an evening just for the entertainment. You may not notice it at first, but there is a parking lot next to the building so that you don't have to find a spot on the street. read more

Wow... there is little I can say that most of the people haven't already said. On what Phoua said, just to point it out, waiter service is available for the all you can eat. If you don't weight your plate at the end of the buffet line, and opt for the all you can eat meal ($21?) they bring the different selections of meats back and forth to your table, then cut you a portion right there at the table. No more weighing or anything, they just keep it coming. The food is fantastic, pork, red meat, and chicken are all served from ribs (pork or beef), to mini steaks (garlic beef). I personally love their roast beef. If they don't ask you at the cutting station, just let them know the way you like it (med-rare to well-done). They have a limited salad selection, and then a few hot items from the buffet line (not counting the cutting station). Stews, different meats, rice, and beans. Oasis also has a nice little glass display with some different desserts, plus fruit in the buffet line. If you haven't checked this place out yet, definitely give it a try. The food is very good, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful (not to mention bi-lingual). The atmosphere is open, and they have an open full bar in the back. If you're in the Lowell area, you should definitely swing by. read more

I am in love with Brazilian BBQ and am always looking for new Brazilian restaurants to check out. I recently went to Oasis Churrascaria for the first time and was very happy I did! The place is very casual and has Globo TV on the big flat screen in the dining area, just as it should. :-) I chose to pay for my meal by weight and it was a fair price and well worth it! The meat was done perfectly and the picanha was to die for! I tried the linguica and chicken hearts which were also really tasty. The buffet had all the standard Brazilian food you would expect, including fantastic mayonaisse (potato salad), fresh fruit, beans and rice, and I was lucky enough to be there on a day they had feijoada! It was delicious! I was able to wash it all down with a can of Guarana... it just wouldn't be right if I didn't. :-) I only wish they carried the Guarana Antartica, which is the best brand in my opinion! The one thing this restaurant doesn't have that so many others like it do is a bigger dessert selection. They have a small case of desserts which did look good, but it was almost empty. I wish I would've been able to end my meal with a big slice of brigadeiro cake or something! All in all, this restaurant has fantastic Brazilian food made exactly the way it should be. I have been going to Oasis Grill for years. Their food is awesome. Brazilian food is really a hit or miss in this area and now that I am living in NH I haven't found a great place for less then 30$ per plate up here so I still go to Lowell for some authentic Brazilian cuisine at Oasis. This is not a fancy restaurant it is a cafeteria style churrascaria/rodizio which means barbecue/all you can eat in english. They give you the option to pay per pound for your plate of food or do the all you can eat rodizio option. Honestly, I never do the rodizio for a couple of reasons: 1. you can't bring food home (which I always do because I love it) 2. You get so much for your money as pay per pound that I could never eat enough for it to really be worth it. BUT for a few big men out on a business lunch I could see it really paying off and its fun to have someone show up five times at your table and offer up more meat to gorge yourself on, lol. This is not a fancy restaurant it is casual and feels a lot like a clean cafeteria inside. If your looking for ambience this place has it but in a different way. The Brazilians that frequent are often with their family and very friendly I have had many instances where my kids and theirs get to playing and talking and we just all talk and enjoy dinner together. I just feel like I am at a friends house enjoying great food when I go there! If it is busy and there is a soccer game on you will hear a few whoops and cheers but its never obnoxiously loud. Robertson is awesome he has been there for years and usually serves the meat, which they bring out from the large barbecue on a skewer and let you choose how much of what you want then de-skewer it and cut it up for you. Some of the employees speak less english than others Robertson understands english well but tends to prefer to speak in Portuguese. Which has a certain hilarity which I enjoy. He can always translate if their is a communication barrier though. If you want help and someone doesn't understand you just stay calm and try to ask another way for instance, if you ask for "rare sirloin"and they don't understand try saying "red or blood instead of rare and beef instead of sirloin they will bring out all their "rare beef"and you can try all the other options. The people are so sweet and eager to please you it will bring you back every time. There is only 2 reasons why I am giving them 4 instead of 5 stars: There have been one or two times that I have been there (this is between roughly 30 times I have eaten here over the years) that the rice and other food was out a little too long and drying out under the lights although rare it puts a damper on your meal especially when you travel an hour to eat it. The other reason is that they change their menu around some days and when I go there I know exactly what I want and am craving and sometimes they just didn't make it that day :(. My normal meal is rice with vinaigrette (cut up seasoned cucumbers, tomatoes, onion in vinegar) with black beans, Feijao Tropeiro (super yummy traditional brazilian bean thing which I love it has farofa, kidney beans, sausage and collard greens) and MEAT lol. Chicken wrapped in bacon, sirloin and garlic beef all so good. They also make good Chicken hearts here so if you've never had one this is the place to try it. They have pork and sausage and everything barbecue here is "to die for" I always drink a Muracuja (passionfruit) juice with my meal or order a strawberry caipirinha from the bar. Their desserts are awesome they serve passionfruit mousse and a pudding cracker cake thing that is amazing. I have purchased full dessert plates from them twice for my husbands birthday and we devour their dessert. Anyways I have been meaning to review this place for years because as long as its open I will always return. Six years later and the quality hasn't changed. I just realized Oasis Grill is conveniently located within a short walk from my apartment. Convenient in that if ever I engorged myself with delicious lamb slices, stewed beef and desserts, I could at least burn off a fraction of the calories on the walk back home. My buddy and I wandered into this place for the first time after months, years of promising ourselves we'd muster up the will power to try something other than usual locales. A bit uninitiated to Oasis' two-tiered buffet system, we stood there dumbfounded, looking like schmucks until the lady behind the counter explained to us how things worked. After grabbing plates, scooping up generous helpings of potato salad along with various meats we worked our way to the actual meat station. We then suffered a bit of paralysis by analysis after we were offered a list of meats from sausages, lamb, pork loin, etc. Unable to choose between them, we ended up getting samplings of each of the meats. The dining area was plain but pleasant with a lone flat-screen adoring the walls. As a dyed-in-the-wool meat-lover, I highly recommend this place. This is a great casual, laid back place to go with friends. The buffet is at a very reasonable price and it tastes delicious. The steak (especially the picanha, or Brazilian sirloin) melts in your mouth. Everything is made with care, the restaurant is very clean and the beer is as cold as you would like it to be. This place is awesome. The location is a little rough around the edges, and the restaurant itself might look and feel more like a typical Lowell neighborhood sub shop/pizza place, but don't let this deter you - it's actually a unique mashup of pay-by-the-pound-style cafeteria, and a full-service all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse ("meat on swords")/bar with a super friendly staff. It's excellent, unpretentious, and really affordable. When you first walk in, the cafeteria-style layout is right in front of you. This is where they have things like rice, beans, veggies, as well as fried wings and a few (awesome) slow-cooked/braised meat dishes. These items are available for all...whether paying-by-the-pound, or doing the all-you-can-eat "meat on swords" experience. The next room over is the dining area, which is as casual as it gets with a couple TVs and very simple tables and chairs (again, lots of sub shop similarities), and the room beyond this in the far back is a small bar room. We were there on a Friday night around 7pm. Most of the place's business seemed to be local folks stopping in to make up a quick plate from the cafeteria-style area, then either taking it to go, or eating it in the dining room. We chose all-you-can-eat. When doing all-you-can-eat, you just let the staff know when you walk in. You'll grab a plate from the entrance area, walk through the cafeteria line (if you want any of those items), then head into the dining room to grab a seat. Within moments someone was there to take our drink orders (try a Caipirinha - so good!!), then the "meat on swords" started coming. Now...for the uninitiated, at this point I must stress - a LOT of meat choices will be brought to you, and they will be brought faster than you can eat them all. You will probably want to try everything, and you WILL be STUFFED when you finally say "nao mais!" haha, but ALL the food is GREAT. Everything was cooked perfectly and well-seasoned (some might say it's salty - I think it's perfect). There must have been at least 5 beef choices brought out (including steak-type cuts and ribs), a couple pork choices, bacon-wrapped chicken, chicken hearts (you might need to ask for them though, we did), sausages and possibly a few more. Not sure if we even lasted until seeing all the choices, but the waiter made it a point to ask if there were any items we wanted more of or to try again and was happy to bring back a couple of the previous items. If you're looking for an "upscale" Brazilian steakhouse experience, Oasis Grill is not it...but it IS one of Lowell's best-kept dining secrets. read more

A coworker of mine invited me out to this place for lunch recently and I went not really having much of an idea what it was. When we got there, I immediately recognized that it was a Brazilian barbecue style restaurant and was rather pleased as I enjoy Brazilian barbecue. The format was different than I had experienced at a place like the Midwest Grill in that you fill up your plate with what you want and they weigh it and charge by the pound. This worked out very well for all of us, however, as the average plate for each of the 4 people I went with was around $8 and we all had very healthy lunches. I had several green vegetables from the salad bar as well as a sampling of several different meats off the grill. I must say the food was very good, better than I had expected before going in. The bacon wrapped chicken was seasoned well and the chicken hearts were also good. If you like grilled meats and fresh vegetables then this is a great place to stop for a quick affordable lunch. read more

They have a hot/cold buffet as well as a carving station with many different meats that have been turning on their spit until perfectly executed. My postings seem to have vanished... so I am re-posting.. sorry if this shows up twice I am not a big meat eater. Most days I live on Fruits,Veggies and some fish. But once in a while I have a craving for MEAT. Oasis is the only place I go. I love the fact that you can get your beef the way you like it, Rare, Medium, Well done etc.... I normally would never consider eating a chicken heart... but I tried one here once and I really like them. The Lamb is very tasty, My son really likes the chicken wings too. They always have fresh fruit on the buffet and I agree with HyunJoo the white rice is really good (what do they put in there?). My son used to have a Brazilian babysitter and he always loved her cooking. It is nice that he can now still have some of his favorite foods (that I have no idea how to cook) and I can satisfy my craving for meat. Disgusting food! I have been a patron of this restaurant for more than 8yrs. A couple of years ago the restaurant changed owners, the quality of food has gone downhill as well as the service. The beans are hard and have no flavor, the rice is not cooked properly and horrible. The meat is dry and never seems fresh. They should have traditional sides on the buffet as well as specials, neither are very good when on the rare occasion they are there. The service for drinks takes forever as well, I waited over 10 minutes for someone to ask if I wanted a drink the last time I was there. I would not recommended this place anymore, which is a shame since I used to go 3x's a week before. I personally travel to Everett and Somerville to get good Brazilian food when the mood hits and I don't feel like cooking. read more

Well, i've gone to this place kindda often since 2005 it has decrease it's quality standards drastically , long story short, i went there with my wife yesterday dec 13th for lunch, the "churrasqueiro" (guy who takes care of the meat for ya) was very upset , giving me an attitude and pissed off looks/faces, i disregarded that because i was very hungry , then i found some hair inside the food, so i told the lady who was there (a short , chubby one) all she did was erase the price for the food on my bill ,since i told her i didn't want it no more, she didn't even say she was sorry, i mean, really?! Never going back, i am brazilian by birth ,i know many more other places that would provide me with at least good customer service. Very disappointed. read more
