For the food, we weren't super hungry but we all wanted French onion soups, so we decided to come here based on previous experience and it didn't disappoint. We did this awesome deal where for less than $20 you get a French Onion Soup, an entree with a side and a cheesecake for dessert. I stopped by Ouback, my favorite place. I was using one of my birthday gift cards i received. The gift card is sold by go Enjoy, which this is the second time I've had an issue with these cards. Anyway, I was on the phone with their customer service rep which was absolutely no assistance. The Manager Omar Padilla came over and we were chatting and I put my phone on speaker and he could hear that this was going no where. I told him that this is one of m h b day presents. He happy Birthday. I said thank you and he walked away. I polled out one of my debit cards to pay and Omar came back and had my bill in his hand. Thereafter, we ordered a blooming onion for the table (Because that's what you have to do at outback right ? ) So on to the main course we ordered a porterhouse (medium rare), a NY strip (medium), and a bone in rib-eye (medium-well) to satisfy all the temperature preferences of the table. As sides we ordered a French onion soup, fries, baked potato, and asparagus. The blooming onion was a crunchy, greasy, heavily seasoned but fun and quite enjoyable onion experience. The steaks to my surprise were cooked to the right temperature and seasoned well and even topped with what tasted like a nice quick coat of butter before serving. Everyone enjoyed the way the steaks were cooked and tasted. Overall a good, and surprising experience from our neighborhood outback in Hialeah ! It's not as dark as other locations & the plus - it's a free standing location. Service - Slow and somewhat clumsy but it gets compensated with the staff's amicable attitude and "Spanglish" dialect which works given its Hialeah location. Food - Standard tasting and fresh. Our food was served in a timely matter. A new Outback has finally opened in the heart of Hialeah. I was beyond excellent to check out this new location last night. Walking in, I was greeted by the host, and she took us to our table right away (no wait time). This restaurant opened about a month ago, everything looks nice and clean. I ordered the BOOMARITA flight, it's comes with a mango, blackberry ,watermelon and a house margarita for only $6.99 (what a great deal). After taking a sip of each one, all 4 of drinks were watered-down;(. I honestly was so disappointed. Now let's talk about the food... I ordered ALICE SPRINGS CHICKEN, Grilled chicken breast topped with sautéed mushrooms, crisp bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar and honey mustard sauce with side of sweet potato and "grilled asparagus". Every single item on my plate was overcooked. However we decided we would try out the relatively new outback that popped up in Hialeah. We went, but it was not as enjoyable to us as our regular one. First and last time coming here. It was a Saturday night and we had no reservation , we were a party of 2 . Hostess was nice but seemed busy and overwhelmed . Our server took a while to approach us I'd say 10 -15minutes, he seemed new at the job , and well to be honest so does most of the staff . Everyone is very young and don't really have the hospitality touch but it seemed like our server was trying .Music was a bit loud kinda had to raise my voice to talk to someone across the table and made it hard to hear . They never picked up the dirty plates from our table from the appetizers and bread . Also, I didn't really like the fact that my chicken was literally on top of the ribs ,I feel like the Mac n cheese didn't have to be placed on the same plate and given the chicken that space . So this was my first time ever coming to outback in all my years of life lol, and it was delicious! The only complain I have is that I can tell the blooming onion was a little burnt but it wasn't that bad just made it extra crunchier. We have been coming to this location for many years. This time around we were greeted at the door, seated and given menus by a very cordial and jovial greeter. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. It was over 25 minutes, almost half an hour and no waiter or waitress approached us. We got up and left, not sure if we're ever coming back after being regular diners for over 3 years. The food at every Outback is always pretty good, the service however is not. I used to go in and get served by the bartender/server named Meghan and she was amazing. Great service with a great personality. I was sad to hear that she is no longer there. The other servers that have waited on me were sub-par at best, I even got one once that didn't really speak english. Went and had the 30 ounce Ribeye. It was thin 1/2 an inch to be exact. I requested rare temperature. The first one came out well done. I sent it back. The second one also came out well done. I also sent it back. The server, who was very nice throughout the evening, appeared hopeless. I asked her to simply give it less time in the grill. The point of my giving one star is that the steak is not a 30 ounce steak. They have a timer that warns the chef to turn the steak but since it's half the size it comes out overcooked. The asparagus side that I ordered had 4 asparagus. When I visit Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse I usually take home a portion of the bone in Ribeye. Last night, I ate it all and was still hungry. Also had the salad. It's sad that they are taking this cost cutting shrinkflation approach to essentially rip off the customer for a profit. BTW the place was mostly empty. about 25 percent full. EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE. Should've walked out. Waited over 30 min for waiter to even greet us at our table. Took another 20 to get our drinks followed by almost 40 min to get our food. An hour and a half sitting there for 2 burgers and 2 drinks. Waiter never refilled our waters and ignored us the entire visit. We are not complainers and are the easiest guests to please but this was just terrible. I felt sorry for our waiter.
