Since this is my 2nd review in a 8 month frame, I guess you can say I kinda like this joint. This time my outing was more of a date than just the girls hanging out and I enjoyed everything or maybe the company had me seeing stars. Seriously. Ordered takeout from Outback and it did not disappoint. I went with the sirloin, mashed potatoes, and broccoli--simple but done really well. The steak was juicy and cooked perfectly, and the sides were just as good. The mashed potatoes were rich and creamy, and the broccoli was alright. It's always a gamble with takeout, but this meal was honestly great from start to finish. Super satisfying and exactly what I was craving. read more

Great place to have lunch and/or dinner but I have a couple of issues that emerged lately. First the overhead speakers are way too loud for conversation with others at your table - I did bring it up last time. Ugh! Secondly, what has happened to your homemade salads? Looks like they are all prepared NOW with bagged precut lettuce mixed with slivers of carrots, etc. Even the blue cheese pecan chopped salad with "mixed greens". This particular establishment should have never seen a second star if it had been like it was in the 15 minutes time I spent there last night my $70 steak dish was microwaved The green beans were like carrots and undercooked steak was married to the seasoning and chafing with butter and the mashed potatoes had somehow regrow the air inside was purged with the fragrance of toilet water and the surfaces were all dank and sticky. If I didn't know any better, I would think Australia was declaring on us after eating here. I expressed no exaggeration upon this review. This particular Outback Steakhouse is located in a shopping plaza where there is a Kroger for an anchor location. Outback Steakhouse started in Tampa, Florida in 1988 and billed itself as an Australian-inspired Steakhouse. I have often wondered if they went with the "Australian-inspired" concept due to the popularity of the "Crocodile Dundee" movies because I have never seen anything that separated Outback Steakhouse (or made it more Australian) than any of the other mid-level priced steakhouses like Longhorn, Roadhouse, etc. Anyway, Outback Steakhouse has grown to over a thousand locations in twenty-three countries. The food here is OK. Nothing special, but nothing terrible. It is exactly what it is supposed to be, a national chain restaurant that is concerned more with consistency amongst its locations rather than producing incredible food. All in all, this restaurant was picked more for its proximity to my hotel rather than any notion of "Australian-inspired" or for the food. Outback Steakhouse is not a bad location, it is just another chain Steakhouse with a decent price point. read more

It's been quite a while since visiting a Outback. The server we had was awesome and attentive. Drinks filled without asking, food served promptly. We went right after the lunch crowd so nice quiet atmosphere, comfortable booth seating. Surprised at some of the updates on Menu, we just had to try the steak queso, I thought the portion appeared kinda chincy for the price but it was worth it and the fresh chips served with it were so yummy. We went to the Outback on Charlotte Pike in Nashville - a late lunch for my birthday. It was a disappointment. We waited several minutes after being seated before a server appeared. He did come by once and apologized for making us wait. He took our order at about 2:45. It arrived after 3:00. There were four tables with people on our side of the restaurant. Even though we asked twice, we never received any bread. When our food arrived it was not hot. My steak was cooked properly. The other one at our table was overcooked. The Alice Spring chicken was cooked properly, but it had apparently sat for a bit; the toppings had slid off. Our baked potatoes were no longer hot, and neither were the fries (which were limp). The broccoli was good, but it also was not hot. Same with the mushrooms. Our server avoided making eye contact. We had to ask for the check. Overall, we were not pleased with the service or the food today. I'm not sure we will ever return to this location. read more

It was News Years Eve around 6:00 we arrived there was and hour wait no problem. We were able to get a seat at the bar great we thought. Fayla took our drink order served our drinks and took our food order. We were there for Prime Rib she told us they only serve Prime Rib on the weekend. We were there last year and we had Prime Rib ok we understand that we ordered something else no worries. Every one around us that was seated after us had finished there meals. She was waiting on her regulars that were there drinking so she did not have time for other customers. We paid our tab and left went else where. As a former downtown Nashville 5 star Restaurant owner I would not have that in my bar the service was terrible and she did not care that we were upset. This is a great Outback. All the food was cooked perfectly . We had a good waitress and she made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal . She wasn't like a lot of them that you never see until it's time to angle for the tip . In fact , she was good enough that it's the first time I ever tipped 25% . The table was clean , the bathrooms were clean and you didn't stick to the floor when you walked . Manager came over and asked if we enjoyed our meal . They had the Aussie Aussie Aussie deal. I wasn't pleased this visit on 4/1 as my food was cold and I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to prepare another meal. I ordered the bone in ribeye, loaded with garlic butter, mashed potatoes, and cream spinach. I felt my waitress (Valentina) was not attentive as my Sprite was flat and I've only been trying to find her for at least 10 minutes after I sat down. The manager came by to offer his apologies for my unpleasant experience and said my food would be out shortly. I received it 20 minutes later with no mash potatoes and no garlic butter. At this point I am just ready to go. The waitress came with my bill and I expressed my opinion that I shouldn't have to pay for anything but I am happy to do so because I wouldn't be back!!!!! Our server was friendly, but I'm assuming he was too busy because he kept forgetting about us, and we had to ask for our drinks to be refilled and for more bread, which he forgot and never filled. I just ate (or at least ordered) dinner at Outback on Old Hickory Blvd. In Hermitage. I ordered the Queensland chicken and shrimp. Grilled shrimp and chicken over fettuccini pasta with Alfredo sauce. First the shrimp were cold! The Alfredo sauce on the pasta was cold and watery. I'm not sure there was any cheese in it. I didn't try the chicken opting to take it home were I could at least warm it in my microwave. All this for $25.00. My waitress never inquired about the meal even after seeing all I touched was the chicken to place in the to go box. Leaving everything else in the bowl. For example we got the shrimp on the Barbie which is $10. And it comes with a basic side. She charged us for a premium side which brought it to $14.99 but never gave us the side. Brandi is a crook. That's not the only thing, so watch your receipts especially if you have Brandi G as your server. She was quite rude and very short. When you are ordering she would cut you off mid sentence. It wasn't just us. I could hear over her apologizing to other tables about getting stuff wrong. She has no patience for this job. The food was ok not the best, that's why it gets two stars... Took my son here for lunch two weeks ago for the first time and what a delightful server. She was friendly, smiling, on top of the drink refills, and for the first time, I felt like I was in someone's home. It was just really refreshing when most other places are mediocre at best. The food was terrific, too. I wish i knew her name.
