I think that Outback has become my favorite place to eat . Their prices are very reasonable and their staff makes you feel like family. To to it off being able to purchase a second meal to bring home for just $10 extends the great experience into another day. This was the third place we've tried in an effort to find a place we really like and Outback is the only one of the three that left wanting to return. This is my second time at Outback, first time at this location. In my opinion, there are better chain steakhouses in the area. We went to try their new mozzarella sticks, which were quite good and the blooming onion is always good. After that, everything else is just okay. The bread is fine and it took our server a very long time to offer to bring us bread that by the time we got the bread, the food came shortly after. For my entree, I got the steak and shrimp Alfredo pasta. This was just okay. The steak was good and the shrimp was okay but the pasta and sauce itself was similar to a microwave pasta meal. I've been twice to this Outback Steakhouse now, and both times have been good experiences. For those on a budget, they offer a 3-course meal starting at just $14.99 (with optional upgrades if you'd like). With the $14.99 deal, you get a starter (soup or salad), an entrée (like the Bloomin' Burger or shrimp), an additional side (yes, a second side!), and a slice of cheesecake for dessert. Pretty good value. The burger is cooked how you'd like it, and the sauce they use is so good. We absolutely love starting our dinner out with the kookaburra wings as an appetizer. They are always flavorful and delicious. My husband and I ordered the ribeye with a side of broccoli and horseradish cream. Our steaks were appealing to the eye, tasty, and cooked accordingly to our preference. What a disappointment for Mothers Day. Arrived few minutes early for a 5pm reservation - not seated until 6pm. Ordered apps & drinks, then dinner around 6:30. No entree until a couple minutes before 8pm. No updates in between. A lot of other tables around us were disguntled at time lapses as well. Felt vey bad for some moms with smaller kids way beyond reasonable patience in what was supposed to be an enjoyable time. When food finally arrived, shrimp were room temperature and at least one overcooked steak. I wondered why we hadn't seen my waitress for so long, figured out waitstaff was assisting with all the drive thru to-go orders. Restaurant did a great job of generating those sales, and enlarge part, at great sacrifice to in-house mom's/diners. I spent $60+ tip at bar WAITING for an hour after my reservation time. Then $275 on dinner. Upon comments to manager, $125 was removed from my bill. Not to seem unappreciative, but we are regular gests here. I am aware of restaurant food costs and this was probably a $40-$50 gesture for such a poor experience on Mother's Day. VERY DISAPPPOINTED for many that experienced the same tonight. read more

Went for dinner on a Friday night around 430ish. It was chill when we first got there, a bit older crowd but got a lot busier as the night when on. They had a 3 course meal deal going on at the time. You get a soup or salad, entree and cheesecake for 15$-25$. We both ordered salads, my mom ordered steak, I ordered chicken tenders (I only eat chicken/turkey). We also ordered drinks. I got the Aussie Jawssie, which came with a cute outback shark filled with grenadine. The food and drinks were good. Now the dessert.... After eating the waiter got the bill for us and we asked for boxes for our leftovers, we ordered raspberry & strawberry cheesecake to go. Yesterday my hubby said he wanted to do something special for dinner and he wanted to go out. Knowing he loves steak, I suggested Outback. We got there around 5:15PM and were seated immediately. Our waitress arrived within a minute and was friendly and fun. She had our sodas and a loaf of bread on our table within 2 minutes. The blooming onion was good if a little browner than I prefer. We asked for ranch in place of the usual sauce and I was pleased with the flavor. I'm not a huge ranch fan but this was good. Waitress said they make it in house. I love their French Onion soup so I ordered that as a premium side while hubby got the potato soup special. We were both very happy with our selections. Main course for me was a sirloin and coconut shrimp. Steak was average but the shrimp were yummy. Again, a little browner than I'd prefer but tasted fabulous. We didn't take home leftovers apart from the steak. So felt a twinge of guilt for wasting food. But we thoroughly enjoyed what we had and I got to experience my favorite flavors so all was good. For a Friday dinner time it was nice; not so busy as to be too loud but enough people to have the experience of being with others. read more

Never been disappointed with Outback. Birthday dinner for sis brought us here. We're early birds so we got in/out before the rush. We did the online "reservations " thing again but there was no one waiting in front of us. Started with limeade drinks, side house salads to go with their complimentary rye loaf. I forget that I love their salad dressings. They taste homemade, original. Ranch maybe has a buttermilk base. And the French is slightly spicy... it's got some sort of heat in there. So good! We both ordered off their new menu. Sis got the Bloomin' Burger while I got the Bloomin' Crispy Chicken sandwich. Both were tasty and flavorful with the tangy horseradish sauce. Everything started OK, then it all went bad. We were seated promptly and politely, got some nice fresh baked bread, but then the server forgot about our wine order so we had to wait. We ordered just after the people in the next booth, they got their food in about 20 minutes, but we had to wait over an hour, for a simple off the menu steak and burger order. No one came to explain the delay for about 45 minutes. Finally, we got a 'the dog ate my homework excuse' about a party of 15. Well, with our president crafting huge lies at the rate of 50 per day, why shouldn't Outback? Anyway the manager finally came to talk with us and offered a discount on our order and it did turn out to be about $40 off of a $100 order, but I still would have rather had my food in a timely fashion. Not sure what really happened but I'm guessing our bit of an airhead waiter forgot to put the order in. So don't go down under in Coon Rapids unless you have a lot of extra time and don't mind overcooked steak orders (We would have returned them, but were afraid it would take another hour to get the correctly cooked food). read more

We went the Outback steakhouse in Inver Grove Heights and the food and service were very good, but what irritated me was the cost of drinks. Three Tanqueray tonics were $36.00!!! We hadn't been to an outback in forever. I'm thinking 10+ years but one of our kids really wanted to try so we said "why not?". We visited this location on a Friday at about 5:30 and had no issues getting seated. The restaurant was pretty full but not overly busy. The good thing about outback is that it is consistent and the go-to items that we had 10 years ago are still on the menu. Blooming onions, Alice springs chicken and, of course, the bread! The bread was a favorite of our kids and we easily went through seconds. Additional items selected were the outback special steak and wings, burger, and bloomin fried chicken along with starter salads and some of the best ranch dressing ever! Drinks are also very reasonably priced. Cocktails are almost all $7 with beers ranging from $4-$8. And a margarita sampler for only $10. Service was pretty consistent. A few small delays but the level you'd expect at a chain restaurant. Outback probably isn't going to become a regular in our rotation but it's good to know that when we do go back it will likely be the same as it always was! read more

the food was mid it wasn't super good but it wasn't bad either. the ranch from the aussie fries was super good but we waited about 45 minutes to an hour for our food and it wasnt even that busy. we had 3 people and ordered 2 steaks 2 salads 1 aussie cheese fries and 1 cheesecake. i feel like it shouldn't have taken that long since there was basically no one here. i dont recommend going here if your in a rush or if your really hungry. there are better places to eat at that make you wait way less time. read more

A few nights ago my husband and I ordered Outback Steakhouse to go. We had been seeing the commercials forever and decided to treat ourselves! We hadn't been in forever, and we'd never been to the Coon Rapids location, so we were very excited to try it out! Ordering online was super easy, and we both felt like the menu had a ton of options! I decided to try the filet mignon with mashed potatoes, my husband got the kingsland pasta with steak and chicken, and we also got a blooming onion, blooming shrimp and a piece of cheesecake. My husband went to pick up and it took a bit longer than it said, but he got the food and, thankfully, doubled checked it when he got to the car. He noticed we were missing several items including a side of mashed potatoes and his entire entree! He went back in and said they did not immediately believe him, despite the fact that he brought the bag back in and had literally been gone maybe a minute. I'm sure there are people who scam, but we paid $115 and weren't going to leave missing $35 worth of food. They did replace what he was missing, and he said the restaurant did appear busy and obviously things happen, but we weren't going to let that ruin our night! We got home and opened everything up, everything seemed right except my husbands order. Not only was it forgotten, they gave him steak and shrimp instead of steak and chicken. We started with the bloomin shrimp, they were fresh, crunchy and had good yet a little spicy flavor. The bloomin sauce kind of tasted like a creamy cocktail sauce, which neither of us liked. But we enjoyed the shrimp! The sauce for the bloomin onion tested the same, and we just didn't like the taste of it. We both thought the onion was a little over cooked, and the breading tasted very similar to the shrimp. If we were to go again, we'd get the shrimp or the onion, and we would prefer the shrimp. I got the filet mignon, it was cooked beautifully, great flavor, a little fat but not much. I would absolutely get it again! My husband and I both agreed the pasta in his dish was cooked perfect as well, and the sauce was really creamy and tasty. He said the steak was kind of meh, but the shrimp were good, though he would've preferred the chicken he had ordered. The mashed potatoes were great, I ordered it with the extra toppings which came separate, and I appreciated that. Lastly, the cheesecake. On the online menu, it mentions a Berry compote, that definitely was not on the cheesecake nor was it on the side. We received a plain piece of cheesecake which was a little bit a bummer. We both thought it had good flavor, and it was a pretty large piece, but we ended up putting some strawberry preserves on it because it needed something. Our daughter also seemed to enjoy the cheesecake! Overall, I would say 3/3.5 star experience out of 5. We don't like spending that amount of money to not get our order, and then get it incorrectly. And we felt some of the dishes were a little hit or miss (lookin at you Bloomin Onion). My wife and I have been seeing commercials for Outback Steak House for weeks and they finally got us to cave and try it. My wife has been there before but it was my first time so I didn't know what to really expect. What we ended up getting was a mix of bad and okay experiences. Experience: First off this location is the closet to where we live and it was about 22 mins from us so we decided to do carry out. We ordered the food online and the website was quick and easy to use. After ordering they gave us a pick up time and I headed out cause it would take me the time to get there to be on time. Once I arrived I parked in the take out section and there was no one else there. There was just a sign on the door for carry out and that was it. I walked inside and it brought me to a waiter pay booth in a back closet. Other employees had to walk by me to get outside and no one really asked me anything, they just kind of waited for the person doing take out to help me; which I didn't know at the time. The person that helped me was nice, grabbed me my food, and I was on my way. When I got to my car I checked the order to make sure everything was there cause if I made it all the way home I wouldn't drive all the way back out. Upon closer examination my entire entree was missing and a side of mash potatoes. I walked back inside with the bag of food because I've been gone for 2 minutes to show the waiter what was missing. At first they seemed to not believe me and questioned what I was even missing. I had to show them my online order to compare to what was missing. After another person coming to check they decided to finally give me my missing parts and I was on my way back home. I didn't check my entree there because at this point I was a 20 minute drive back home after having to be at the restaurant for 15 mins. To my surprise my order wasn't made correctly and made it feel like this wasn't worth the trip out. Food: The food we ordered from Outback was hit or miss. I ordered the Kingsland Pasta with steak and chicken but got steak and shrimp. The steak was a little rough, but had some good seasoning. The pasta was cooked well and had a nice creamy sauce on it. The shrimp were also a little rubbery but had good flavor. We also got some bloomin' shrimp that were crispy and had a nice spicy after taste to them. The sauce they came with was disgusting though. Next we had a bloomin' onion which something was just off about. We hardly ate it, it was dry, overcooked, and just tasted like onion and not like fried onion. We got a slice of cheesecake that was supposed to come with sauce but did not. So it ended up being a plain boring slice of cake. My wife got the filet mignon which was the best thing any of us ordered. It was by far the best prepared, seasoned, and quality of anything we ordered. Overall: In the end we wanted to try this but for the price and the drive it was just not worth it. We liked aspects of out meal but there was something bad about everything mixed with something good about everything. It was a confusingly prepared meal and I will be weary to try Outback Steak House again. read more

A night and day turn around for the better from our last visit. Both my wife and I had the ribeye. She had a house salad and baked potato. I had the Caesar salad and sweet potato. The Caesar salad was great, the sweet potato was very good but a little on the small side. Both ribeyes we're cooked to perfection. I understand why this location has 2.5 stars. From the moment we got here even waiting for a table in this non busy establishment seemed to cause confusion for the staff. No one seemed to know their right hand from their left. It took 3-4 people at the podium to figure out where to sit us and trust me, or wasn't busy. Once seated it took about 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. From when we ordered to getting our food took over 40 minutes and the server didn't check on us once. The food started with the petals which were extra greasy and unappetizing. The mushrooms were cold in spots but were fresh and not canned which is good. The Mac was the best Item for sure. Highly recommend. The steak was seasoned well and was cooked well. Could have been a bit more on the rare end. And the grilled shrimp were swimming in grease and were over cooked. A signature staple, the Alice springs chicken isn't what it used to be and the fries left a lot to be desired. Our server disappeared and a new female server appeared and she was very off putting she had a mannerism of adding a condescending chuckle after asking if I wanted a box and if there was room for dessert.
