I came to eat here for a special occasion and it was honestly the worst steak I've ever had in my life. Not only did our food take almost an hour to get to use after we ordered but the waiter was rude, dismissive and the restaurant was relatively empty. The steak seems to be glued together, there was a lot of fat and texture was chewy, I asked for medium rare and received well done, it was just nasty all around. When we arrived and were seated, It appeared that the restaurant had just come through a particularly busy period and had not yet had the opportunity to fully clear tables and reset the dining room. Several tables still needed attention, and the overall condition of the restaurant wasn't quite what I expected. To be fair, I have no way of knowing what had occurred prior to our arrival or how much time had passed since the previous guests had left. While the condition of the dining area was not enough to make us leave, it was noticeable enough to catch my attention and create a less-than-ideal first impression. Shortly after we placed our order, the manager (Thomas) and a female employee were clearing a table next to us. Thomas greeted us and in a very genuine and friendly way asked how we were doing. Even though he had no idea we were already dissatisfied, he immediately picked up on our concerns and took the time to listen. After sharing our first impression, Thomas responded with professionalism, sincerity, and genuine concern. He apologized, acknowledged the situation, and took immediate action to address it. There was no defensiveness - just a sincere desire to make things right. He also acknowledged that they were a bit short-staffed that day, but never used that as an excuse. Before Thomas approached our table, I was fully prepared to write a very different review. In fact, I had already decided that I would be contacting the restaurant to express my disappointment. As someone who has written hundreds of reviews for various establishments, I can honestly say that it is sometimes easier to write about a negative experience than a positive one. When service or conditions fall short, I tend to notice it quickly, and once a poor first impression is made, it's not easy to change my mind. That is what made Thomas's leadership so impressive. It's my mother's milestone birthday, and she wanted to celebrate it with 28 of her family members. This experience was honestly a 3/5, but our server turned the experience around. Parking: This location has a small parking lot. We visited for dinner on a weekend, and it was impossible to find a spot, so we parked on the street. Ambiance/Environment: It was extremely packed as usual. There were many people waiting to be seated. We noticed a lot of tables didn't have food yet. A family walked out saying they waited over an hour for their orders bc the restaurant was under staffed. Yikes .. Service: My mom made reservations a month ago. They even called her the day before to confirm her large party reservation. We had reservations at 7pm. When we checked in, they did not have a table set aside for us. The host said they're waiting for tables to open. We started to become impatient bc it was 20 min past our reservation time. The manager was brought out, but she didn't do anything except escalate the situation. We were finally seated at 7:30pm. Our server Jonathan was courteous, quick, and efficient. He turned this experience around. Food & drinks: We were split into four tables. Each of us ordered a blooming onion, alcoholic drinks, and a 3 course meal. The 3 course meal included an appetizer, a main dish, and a dessert. I forgot the exact name, but I got one of their seasonal margaritas, and it was fruity and strong. For my 3 course meal, I got the baked potato soup, sirloin, house mac n cheese, and cheesecake with chocolate sauce. The baked potato soup was sooo delicious. The sirloin was cooked medium rare as requested, and it was absolutely tender. The house mac n cheese cost extra, but it was worth it! It was seasoned well and not too salty. Can't go wrong with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. I also asked Jonathan if they can surprise my mom with a special dessert for her birthday, and they even sang to her. After having a great time at the Boysenberry Festival at Knott's Berry Farm,we're very hungry walking all day and tasting the variety Boysenberry infused items. We decided to go to Outback Steakhouse to get a nice especially a nice delicious steak that's I was thinking off...STEAK.. We're seated right and the hostess hand us the meal and ask us our drink order. We ask the waiter if they have the three course meal even I check my Outback app they have on the app then we ask waiter and he's say yes. We both order the three course meal but we upgrade to a higher level of the three course meal. I upgrade my steak to 6oz to 9oz with a baked potato and a side salad and New York style cheesecake with raspberry sauce company with cheesecake. My wife got steak also but her appetizer to choice was the coconut shrimp and baked potato. I order my steak medium rare because all the flavor of meat have to be perfectly cooked and seal the flavors. The steak was cook perfect even have crusted on the steak so good. The baked potato was awesome fully of flavor and layers of flavors and bold flavors. Last month was my birthday I use my Outback free birthday dessert I pick Chocolate down under one of my favorite dessert at The Outback Steakhouse. The dessert was pretty good and chocolaty goodness. The staff of the Outback Steakhouse were very professional and knowledgeable their duties were making the customers happy and enjoying a good meal. December 30, 2025 My husband and I stopped for lunch and met our very special friend before heading to the LAX airport for our flight back home to Hawaii. I ordered the 13 oz Ribeye steak, with broccoli & baked potato. I always order my steaks well done and steaks always come out tasting delicious at all the Outback Steakhouse I've dined at. Let me just say this is one of the best tasting steaks I've had! It was cooked to perfection moist & flavorful. As seen in my photo. Oh and the broccoli was very delicious too as always. If you're looking for a great tasting steaks and reasonably priced check out this Outback Steakhouse in Buena Park. Located near Porto's Bakery. We no longer have Outback Steakhouse's in Hawaii. Had a gift card and realized that I hadn't been to an Outback in quite some time. The kids were excited so I figured why not. We went on a Monday, so it was pretty quiet, I've seen this place packed other days, so we chose well. :) The service was top notch,our server Jonathan was on top of things the entire time, and even offered drinks to go. I was also very pleased with the food! My son really enjoyed his steak and shrimp, and my daughter enjoyed her shrimp pasta/steak combo. My wife and I got the Aussie Three combo, so we got our meals with a n appetizer and shared our cheesecake dessert with the kids. Cole was very attentive, professional, and friendly as he came to the table often to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Luckily, they weren't too busy this afternoon and we got a chance to sit comfortably at a larger table near the TV's where we could see the game, order some delicious drinks, and try their tasty food. We didn't wait long before we had our awesome bloomin' onion, steak, shrimp, and pasta plates, and the Aussie sandwich. Everything was great today and timely in their spacious Beach Blvd dining room. We went here for lunch today. I ordered the 18oz bone-in rib eye, mediim, with sides Ceasars salad and sweet potato. The steak was excellent, very tender with the right amount of marbling. I highly recommend it. The sweet potato, on the other hand, had one part of it that was discolored that looked like it was on its way out. The server today was friendly and very attentive. A second serving of the warm dinner bun was also welcome! It was a lunch meal so nothing special in the ambiance. The place was practically empty--no waiting line, just a handful of occupied booths all around us. You'd think they'd actually prioritize customers on a slow night like this, but that clearly wasn't the case. After checking in, the young hostess (long curly black hair, no name tag) made weird eye contact with me, my wife, and our son, hit us with a big smirk, and--without any greeting--flatly said it would be "a few minutes and to take a seat " Her eyes were barely open the whole time as she stared at my family while we stood there confused. Another great experience at the Buena Park Outback! Seated in the bar area, we were served by Alissa who provided outstanding, friendly customer service. Our food was prepared perfectly and delivered to our table in a timely manner. Alyssa checked on us regularly during our stay, provided us with a non alcoholic toast after our meal and also assisted me in getting a discount using the Rewards Program. I'd highly recommend this restaurant and suggest bring sat in the bar area as we've had great luck receiving great service and food there by Alyssa and other wait staff. I'm a local and use to frequent this Outback and thought I'd revisit for a meal give it another try. Walked in hostess and host Chatting it up. NP figured a meal at the bar and have a drink. Completely ignored. Bartender chatting it up with a bus boy or cook. Went back to the host station. Still chatting it up. Maybe I will take a table. Used the tip feature to add extra funds for extra bread. Called the location. Spoke to Peri. Very helpful and very pleasant. Very attentive server! Thank you garlic parm chicken 10/10! It was made so divinely. It came out hot and well seasoned. The chicken was crunchy on the outside with a soft bite. Blooming onion 7/10! I think I would get a side of the petals instead of the entire onion! I liked it better dipped in ranch than the other sauce. Moc crock was so pretty it had glitter! 7.5/10 it was just really sweet. Got the ribeye medium rare 8/10 and sub the sides for Mac and cheese 7/10 and baked potato soup 6/10. My husband got the new chimichurri filet. It came with the blooming petals like a good amount. very unprofessional and unorganized location. i called about getting a job there & got no call back. i called a week later and they said "yeah come this day at 1, we can talk to you and speak to your old manager" i show up that day at 1 and the hosts tell me there's no managers there that can help me and to come back at 5. then the server, froy, which served my family the week prior told me he'd put in a good word for me, i caught him in the parking lot and he said to me "im sorry, who are you? im a little confused because im not even in the store yet". after just asking if he's the hiring manager that day. he then tells me to follow him back inside and he will grab the hiring manager. then another manager comes out and tells me he's out for the day and to just apply online. not sure why you'd have me come in at a specific time to then tell me to apply online. read more

Just got out of dinner and the place was busy for a Thursday night. Good for Outback! Although they were understaffed, we were sat in a reasonable time and got served pretty quickly. The various servers were great about coming around and checking in. We haven't eaten in here for a while, but the bloomin' onion was how I remembered it, tasty crunchy and addicting. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the portions of sides were not skimpy. As for the ambiance, the inside was clean and still looked the part. This is our usual location that we visit and generally it's great. But Friday 7/10 was awful. We arrived at 7:40pm. Took about 5 minutes to get seated, which isn't bad. We get to our table about 7:46pm. Then we wait 17 minutes to get greeted by our waitress, which is fine. I understand things happen and people are busy. We order drinks and appetizers. 8:16pm we get our appetizers. 30 minutes for appetizers? Again fine we accept it as the restaurant being busy. The entire time we're waiting for our appetizers we never get visited by our waitress again although she is present being behind the bar. She then eventually comes back once our appetizers have arrived to take our entree orders. 9:03pm. I walk up to the hostess and ask if a manager can be sent to our table. It's been close to an hour and we had yet to receive our entree. Mind you we're a table for two, not some huge party. In this almost hour wait our waitress never came to our table. Never asked us if we wanted refills (we only got one cause a random buster came by and saw we had no drinks). Never came to give us an update on our order. The manager comes to our table and I explain that I would just like to pay for the appetizers and leave that we waited long enough and didn't want to wait anymore. Not an apology just a "are you sure?" Which of course I said yes, we checked out and paid within (5 minutes). Funny how they don't delay for taking your payment but do for serving you. Not an apology from anyone not an update on our order. Not even an offer to compensate an appetizer or drink. We also weren't the only party to leave, we witnessed two other parties leave after getting drinks and not being served any food. I guess they went to Australia to get the food? Horrible service and management. Need to make sure I don't return to this location for a good amount of time. read more

We ordered one of their many specials, 9 oz steak (they have 6 oz and 12 iz too) comes with a bbq ribs and I've ordered extra side of lobster tails (yummy). This happened on 9/21/25 around 4:40 p.m. I was there with my family, wearing gray scrubs. Edena told us "10-15 minutes." Cute. We waited nearly 50. In that time, about 10 groups who walked in after us magically got seated first. Twice I asked, twice I was told "you're next." Twice, a flat-out lie. Then suddenly, our name just vanished from the waitlist. How convenient. Meanwhile, Edena and Serenity (aka the bigot squad) kept giving side-eye and whispering while the only Asian family in the place kept sitting. When I asked if this was racism, Serenity's reply? A very eloquent: "what?" So shoutout to Serenity & Edena -- the bias queens of Outback -- for proving that steaks here come with a free appetizer of prejudice. Maybe I should've asked for the manager, but honestly, does Outback even train managers in anything other than Menu of Racism 101? Thanks for ruining a special day. The customer service was so bad at this location. First the guy calling out names hardly made an effort to make sure people heard their names. We were seated 3 feet away from him and didn't hear our name. When I approached him he said we missed our opportunity to be seated. We were informed we could seat at any of the tables inside that were free because they were meant for 2 people only but I put us down for 3 people plus a high chair. He said I put our guest count down incorrectly. Then he eventually put us outside (we were the only guests outside) at the same size table. They didn't have any high chairs available. I ordered drive up pick up. I arrived 5 mins after the order was ready. There was another car waiting on their food. 5 mins after I arrive , they get their order. I wait an additional 10 mins. No one comes out, so I go in, and it's quiet inside. The man behind the bar says he can see my order on the shelf, but doesn't know how to ring it up, so he calls the server (same one who brought out the other people's food). She comes out, purse over her shoulder like she had already clocked out and was headed out the door. I look in the bag, the container with my food has the lid open and you could tell the food wasn't hot anymore. My drink was warm and the "hot" food was cold. I should not have tipped, but I did. THE MANAGER THOMAS IS THE WORSE ONE I had a horrific experience at this steakhouse that is a major health hazard. I ordered a steak, and it was completely ruined and toxic. The meat smelled and tasted strongly of chlorine, as if it had been washed in bleach or contaminated with harsh cleaning chemicals.Eating chemical residue on food is incredibly dangerous. I had to send it back immediately and could not finish my meal out of fear for my safety. This is a severe violation of basic food safety protocols. The kitchen staff and management need to be held accountable for this level of negligence. My kids and I loved it here. We went at 2:30pm on a Saturday when the parking for Porto's bakery was blocked and there were 20 cars waiting in the valet parking line for $3. That place was packed. Outback was much easier to get to. It has steak, fries, kids meals, desserts. What's not to love?! The restaurant was mostly empty and the service was super. Cody was a great server and the manager checked on us to make sure all our needs were met. The joey sirloin kids meal - steak, a side and a drink was just over $10 which was a great deal. We started with the lobster Mac and cheese. It was my son's first time having it and he devoured it (it was pretty good and had some nice chunks of lobster; pretty good for a chain at $13). Of course they start you with warm pumpernickel bread and butter. (You can also ask for honey butter). Drinks are included in kids meals, which is nice. They also had $7 cocktails before a certain time including wallaby darned (my favorite) and margaritas. Of course we got the chocolates thunder from down under - my favorite dessert with a warm brownie and vanilla ice cream. Only downfall was the $7 side salad. I wanted something simple since I wasn't too hungry and $7 for a side salad is steep! But that mustard vinaigrette is good. Service and cheaper drinks made up for the overpriced salad. I wonder why it's priced like that, though. It was kind of small... Anyways if you're looking for a spot for lunch or dinner near Knotts, Outback is a great option.
