This was a great outback till they moved to the TN side! Now the waits are long, the food is hit or miss!

My friend and I ordered two drinks and were surprised when we found shards of plastic in them. The manager explained that a part of the blender must have broken off and got into the drinks. He didn't seem very concerned or sympathetic at all. I will never step foot into another Outback Steakhouse again. read more

We went here with 2.5 hours to kill before our movie and this was the only successful thing this trip to this outback accomplished. First off we waited for over 30 minutes for a table. Not horrible given it was a Saturday night. We were sat and a lady rushed up to get the drink orders before I could even open the cocktail menu, so I get a water. Drinks were back quickly and I ordered my cocktail and we place orders for our entrees since we had a movie to go to and we didn't want to slow a table down. 5 minutes go by. No cocktail. 10, 15, 20 minutes later the now elusive waitress finally slaps my cocktail down and walks off. 25 minutes turn into 30 minutes pass and they bring the normally tasty bread loaves. This time they tasted freezer burnt. Quite disgusting. 35 minutes turns into 45 minutes and here comes the manager to inform us they had NONE of the steak cuts we ordered 45 minutes prior. Now we did order prime ribs but seriously it took 45 minutes to figure out that you were out?? She offers ribeye instead. What ever we were now bordering on running out of time because we have been in the restaurant for nearly 1.5 hours and inhaling a $20 steak was not what I had envisioned for the evening. We accept the substitute. 45, 55, 60 minutes later our steakhouse quesadillas came out soggy, nasty, bland, and three got eaten due to hunger not because they were worth eating. The elusive waitress assures us that the steaks are 2 minutes out from being delivered. 65, 70,75 minutes (longest 2 minutes in history) and here comes the manager with the steaks. We ask for our check because now we are in a rush to make our movie as we have spent 2 hours of our 2.5 available hours waiting on food. The steaks were cooked nicely but we were so rushed no one was able to actually eat and enjoy their meal. I don't think anyone finished. We got the bill that the manager "graciously" discount 15%. I say this smugly because the steak she had to substitute due to her staffs errors were quite a bit more expensive than what we ordered. We hadn't seen our waitress in a waitstaff lifetime at this point and we simply had to go. I always tip a minimum of 20% but this time the waitress got 10% for her lack of presence and effort. I left a note detailing the above. Sad that the company spent so much effort in building this location to have it epically fail. Honestly for the $75 tab for 2 entrees, 1 app, and 1 $5 cocktail I could have had a great meal elsewhere. Don't waste your time or money. Traveling through Bristol the weekend before Thanksgiving and stopped in for a quick lunch. We ordered from the lunch menu and had the Endless soup and salad. I had Potato Soup while my husband had the clam chowder. Both were excellent! The salad was fresh with great dressing. Our server was Sharon and she was very personable and served us well. I was skeptical of stopping due to the two star rating. However, our server was very attentive, my glass of water was never allowed to empty. Although there was a minor mistake in the steak temp, they recooked my steak and it was perfect! The manager/owner came to the table. We have been here 3 times in the last year because of family members wanting to come. atmosphere is nice. We waited an hour. the service was not good. The waiter kept coming over and over filling our water every 15 minutes. my salmon was over cooked and the shrimp on top very tough. All three times I've been here they have burnt my asparagus. My husband ordered crab cakes that never came ended up getting to go and they were burnt .He ordered the prime rib. It was cold he couldn't cut it with the knife. Call ahead service is great if you know how to use it. Called and made reservations at 5 for expected dinner at 6. Came in Outback at 6 and was told we had a 35 minute wait that turned into a 45 minute wait. It he explained to me that that was the policy to be added when you got to the restaurant. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The bathrooms were nasty. We had an hour long wait to be seated. It took 45 minutes to get food, which was not good. At any given time there would be 4-5 tables on our side of the dining room empty with dishes to be cleaned off. At one point, we counted 9 tables that hadn't been seated, and there were people waiting for tables. We heard complaints all around where we were seated. Complaints from other customers included steals not being cooked as ordered, horrible service, dirty dishes, and one gentleman was upset because he was told he would be the next seated, and he wasn't. i know that many of the reviews are from people that are not use to having upscale fancy foods. this place is great and its like indiana jones opened up a place. we didn't have these in grundy but i am safe to say that i am a fan. steak is better then lube steak bristol. eat it haters cause its great read more

I give it 3 stars because my food was decent. What has happened to outback? It has really gone down hill. The host staff was so unfriendly. No smiles, no hellos. I had to just say we have 3 in order to get anything from them. Our server was alright. He kept setting nasty trays with food on tables and leaving them. Just gross. Steak was overcooked to medium but we were ready to get back on the road so I ate it. It wasn't terrible though. The salad had more than 3 pieces of lettuce so I was impressed with that. Overall this place needs a retraining process for sure. If you want mediocre outback that's definitely it. read more

Second time I have been here. First time I didn't even get in the door before customers leaving the restaurant warned me to leave because the service and wait time were so terrible. I was told a twenty minute wait and thirty minutes later no one in front of me had been seated so I ate chick fila that night. This time we went early 5 pm one of maybe 6 in the restaurant. Was waited one immediately and ordered our food and everything. Got our appetizer which was cold and salad fairly quick, but waited 40 minutes for the main coarse. I received half of my order and it was severely undercooked, my wife's ordered fillet mignon and shrimp and got a sirloin also undercooked and wrong size too, my daughters food was completely wrong and cold. Did not receive any refills at all and was not even asked. Seen my waitress three times. Someone else took our plates and Bill. Manager was busy trying to comp the table beside me and behind me before he got to me and tried to comp me. Also the women's room didn't have toilet paper in two out of three stalls and they had just opened up. Unacceptable and piss poor management. Manager needs to be fired. I have been a manager for years and knew the simple things that they completely overlooked or didn't even care about. Will never ever go to this location again. Wish I had read other reviews before going. Took my mom out for her 85th b-day. Her meal was cold. The other three were barely warm. My prime rib was over cooked and dry. They gave my mom another meal. They also gave her a free ice cream for her b-day. I've eaten at many Outback many times. Not what i expected from an Outback Steak House. Came here on the fourth of July and my experience was terrible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to get our drinks and ended up with the wrong drinks. Then, another hour and thirty minutes for our food. When my pasta came it had no parmesan on it what so ever. Just plain noodles and chicken. It also took the waiter another 20 minutes to bring me back my card after paying. We got takeaway and ordered it online. The process was simple and the food was ready on time. Everything was great. The only complaint I had was that the add on coconut shrimp I got was greasy and had barely any coconut on them. Definitely not outback quality. I used to work there so I have high expectations but also know what it should look and taste like! The steak was cooked perfect, salad was crispy and fresh, and the baked potato was awesome. I'm usually a big fan of Outback for a nice dinner. Today, I wanted to check out their lunch menu. Upon arriving, the hostess greeted me and brought me to a booth that the table next to me had their belongings set on, leaving those guests no option but to move their things. I offered to sit elsewhere to save the trouble but the hostess didn't even acknowledge my request. At this time there were only 4 tables being used. I understand how sections work, but given how slow it was I can't see why she couldn't accommodate. I then sat for longer than I should have without being greeted by my server. When he was able to make it over I ordered right away since I came in for a quick lunch. But then, I waited much longer than I should have for them to bring out my starter salad. My entree came out in decent time following - I got the chicken quesadilla which was very good until I got to the last piece of it and it didn't have any chicken in it. Now I'm ready to leave, all of my plates at stacked in two neat piles. Again, I don't see my server. I have to get up and ask the hostess to cash me out. When he makes it over to me, for some reason he's annoyed with me?! I could tell it took everything he had to get a simple 'thank you' out from under his breath. I usually like to give restaurants at least two attempts to make a good impression so maybe I'll try again for dinner sometime. read more

It has been awhile since I went to the Outback and it will be even longer before I go again. Our bread was cold, seemed even frozen still in the middle. I never got my salad, and was served the wrong steak, which came out 10 mins before the rest if my partys food. Those are just my complaints. We love Outback. We were so excited to finally get one in Bristol. Unfortunately it is awful. We used to make the drive to Johnson City from Abingdon regularly to eat there and were usually very pleased with the experience. Bristol is a let down. The last time we ate there as a couple, we sat in an almost empty dining room un noticed for over 15 minutes. There was no one there so I don't know understand how a waiter/waitress wasn't notified that there were diners in the building. I can't vouch for the food on this particular trip because we left. The last time we ate there as a group (no our choice) we again entered a virtually empty dining room and we weren't even greeted by the hostess. Where are their staff. After about 5 minutes a man came out of the back and seated us. The food wasn't good and SO SLOW. I can see how this place has no business. I wont be back. read more

My family has visited this particular Outback and I must say it keeps getting worse!! Not sure how this is possible because it is terrible. The restaurant itself is dirty just down right nasty!! Staff is very rude and have no clue what they are doing. Our visit on 8/2/15 was by far the worse service ever. Seated and ordered quickly however was never given plates utensils or napkins even when the food was brought out. When we had to ask the waitress for these she clearly made her point that we were simply a burden to her. When we ask for the manager over missing food from your previous visit, she very rudely told us she had no idea where her manager was she hadn't seen him. Food that was ordered was clearly not cooked and the staff again pretended it was perfection. Sorry but blood filling your plate is far from perfection. This place needs to shut down!! read more

My friend and I went on a Monday night. It wasn't very busy and we were greeted and seated righted away. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered 3 small appetizers and a side salad... all came out quickly and were absolutely delicious! We never had to wait on refills and the entrees also arrived appropriately timed but both were cooked incorrectly. My salmon was almost raw and her steak was overcook. It took us longer than it should have to track down our server and let her know, but once we told her, she hopped into action to fix it! The new owner/manager also came over to make sure we were going to be happy. He personally went back to the kitchen and cooked another steak himself. It was PERFECT! Run to another restaurant but do not go here! We chose this restaurant for our anniversary. We were going to the Barter for a play afterwards so we did call ahead to make sure we would be seated in enough time to have a pleasurable meal. We got there and the hostess (16 year old) said that she couldn't find our name and we must be mistaken. I showed her my cell phone with their # on my recently dialed and she said that this wasn't their #. Another girl working said "yes it is". Then, after 5 more minutes the other girl said that they found our names on a previous sheet that they had already discarded. Ok, so we wait. We see people come in after us that had not done call ahead be seated. We wait forever. Finally I approach a different hostess and she said that we would be seated soon. We weren't. I talk to a manager and he tells me that they have been having problems with the hostess stand and the young girls are new. We are then seated in the bar area. Now, the bar area is open seating. We could have been seated there all along! Our food finally comes and I am so mad that I couldn't really eat much. The food was just so-so. My spouse's food was so-so. I only ate about half of my dinner so that we could get out of there to make the Barter. Toward the end of the play I started feeling funny. I then realized that they had done something to my food for being a problem customer. I checked around and heard that this is a common practice at that restaurant. I spent that evening and the next day "paying" for being a "bad" customer. I didn't bother calling the corporate office because I didn't want it to go any further. If they will do that to my food what would be next? This place will eventually go under as they keep these type of shenanigans up. We are not the sour grapes type of people. We are respectable, working middle class, regular people. It happened to us and it can happen to you. There are too many other restaurants to go to this particular one. read more
