There was no biscuit in my Biscuit Fried Chicken, but I digress. The green tomato salad had no lettuce, simply pickled green tomatoes with creamy house-made ricotta and a nice blend of tasty surprises. We went straight to entrées. My son had the strip steak with fries, which came out looking like something from a premium steakhouse photo ad. They left nice chunks of fat which cooked up beautifully and certainly added a lot of flavor. There was no meat left on his plate when he was finished. My wife had the shrimp and grits, the shrimp were HUGE, plentiful, and delicious. I had the biscuit fried chicken, which arrived looking like a large open face sandwich, with layers of comfort food! I took a photo. My meal was delicious, but there was no biscuit, even though I kept tasting biscuit, so I think the breading was made from a big fluffy crunchy biscuit and it was delicious. Definitely some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I could cut it with a fork. It was juicy and so crunchy and flavorful. Overall, it was a good night very quiet middle of the week meal, which was perfect. We enjoyed a nice quiet family celebration for my son's birthday.

Salmon and risotto from Vivian's Table inside the Bristol Hotel

My dear friends took me to dinner at Vivian's table last night and everything was splendid! I ordered the Grilled Salmon with risotto and spring vegetables! It was ten out of ten! I got the side of parsnip purée with a hint of truffle oh my goodness I'm delighted our excellent server Amanda recommended it! We also ordered a baguette for the table and it was perfection. My friends ordered the same entree as I did but added a Caesar salad it looked and smelled devine. The table was right near the window and the restaurant was pretty quiet except for us when we discovered our server was from the same tiny town of 50 people where we live!!! What are the chances!! And I'm friends with her mom? Really haha a fabulous time was had by all the new Chef has improved the food there by about 1000% I highly recommend trying Vivian's Table when you are in Bristol.

Very very cute restaurant. Not huge but the attention to detail is great. It is located inside a hotel and next to the museum of country music so it maybe a little easy to miss. I didn't love my lox baguel there was nothing outstanding about it and the onions were very cold they were supposed to be sautéed ñ. None the less the drinks were great and the other options on the menu seemed and looked good as I was looking at every plate that walked by. The bartender was great and gave some recommendations I had a martini which was divine.curious to try this place again for the additional food options great venue for a celebration or a cute intimate date.

Service was above high expectations! Took care of the slightest items quickly and without question. Upscale, simplistic & modern decor accented the dining experience. Steak was prepared to perfection and the vegetable risotto was an amazing twist that was as delicious as the description. Definitely high on the list for a repeat visit. The rooftop bar was an excellent spot to await our reservation. Also highly recommend.

GET THE BANANA BREAD PUDDING! I needed you all to know that first and foremost in case you didn't ready the rest of the review. Everything here was amazing but their banana bread pudding is the best thing I have eaten all year. I contemplated ordering 2 more. I was a fan of the short rib and my boyfriend loved the cordon bleu. We order three apps and we both agreed that the deviled eggs were the best. Service is great here and I liked that the restaurant was pretty quiet and had a relaxing vibe. If I lived in Bristol, I would come here monthly to eat and weekly to get the bread pudding (maybe twice a week.)

    3 THREE EGG OMELET

Breakfast was great, the 3 egg omelette had to be one of the best I've had. Finished the entire thing without feeling the grease etc. The potatoes were perfect with ketchup and Tabasco. Took one star off for the dinner. Dinner I'd give maybe a 3.5 star, not bad but nothing you'd want to come back for. Had the rib-eye steak, it was alright but it came very late and I was already stuffed with appetizers and salad. Overall good experience, highly recommend the breakfast here, worth waking up early for.

Came here on a date night and it was beautiful on the inside, very quiet. To go inside enter through the hotel and look immediately right. My boyfriend had the ribeye, shrimp and Asparagus and he said it was delicious. I found it at the very last minute and I'm so glad I did...please try the alcohol beverage MAIDEN NAME, it's very smooth and refreshing. They are coming out with a new Menu October 1st, just fyi. If this is your date night , you won't be disappointed!! We are definitely going back !!

    Short ribs

The meal was well prepared, the service prompt, and the atmosphere was solid. I had the short rib which had been sous vide for 48 hours and was quite tender as a result. I as surprised by the lack of parsnip mash compared to how heavy handed they were with the red wine demi. The mediterranean salmon was also cooked to our liking with the grill flavor coming through. The most unique dish in my opinion was their version of chicken cordon bleu. Which was stuffed with pimento + country ham with a country gravy. Their shrimp and grits were ample. *Note that their still water is bottled water and not tap water.

The main building is a lovely and spacious modern inn that balances comfort and traditional elements with open and wide modern floor plans and bright spaces in a pleasing way while retaining the cozy fireplace experiences of more traditional settings. A first floor outdoor veranda opposite the main entrance stretches the length of the main building overlooking the well groomed hillside vineyards and a stocked, picturesque fishing pond. The hillside stretches up the horizon and with the westward facing veranda, offers stunning sunset views along with wine service. Below is a patio off the main restaurant and bar offering even more seating around fire pits with couches and Adirondack chairs with appetizer and drinks available for the bar/restaurant. We toured a king 2 room suite with a large sitting area separated from an equally large and well appointed sleeping area with a private large balcony that also faced the western sunset over the vineyards. The rooms were described as more akin to an apartment whereas the 9 onsite yurts accommodations were described more akin to a condo, described as pet friendly and a quiet community. Behind the yurts is a large barn structure that serves as a tasting room with an outdoor seating area with Edison lights strung around the overhang creating a warm space to enjoy the vineyards end production, currently nine wine vintages. Beside the main building are two much larger shaped yurt structures housing a full fitness center and a spa as will as an outdoor pool. We dined at Hickory for dinner and enjoyed their farm to table, Appalachia oriented menus. That will be a separate review but it hits 10/10 for hospitality, service, presentation and food excellence. We plan a fall trip for an overnight stay when the vineyards come in just before harvest to get the full experience! Also, we initially had a glass of their Chardonnay and being pleased with this, we opted to enjoy a bottle with dinner even though the wine list had equally excellent choices from familiar vineyards. This is highly recommended!

We were told there was going to be a 15 min wait, but we're seated with five minutes. We got crab Rangoon, which was delicious. The portion was fairly small for the price. But, fortunately main courses followed soon after. I got the pad thai and it was really tasty. I chose tofu as the protein, and they went fairly light on the tofu. Also, I'm used to my pod Thai having a few more bells and whistles, like more greens, sprouts, and more than one lime wedge. But, it's on me for not requesting extras of those things. I ate all of my food. The portion was just right for a sit down meal and that worked well for me because as a tourist who was bopping around town, I did not want to have a to go box. Service was friendly and attentive. The place was pretty big and fairly loud, but the tables were spaced well between each other so we weren't impacted by the noise on either side. If you're trying to find a place that multiple people will agree on, this isn't a bad choice because they have a variety of different cuisines. Overall, I would definitely stop back at some point, though I might not seek it out as my top choice for a place to eat in the area.

I've taken business associates and family with the highest confidence that they would experience the finest meal they've ever had. Sadly, my last two visits, My guests and I were disappointed. They no longer offer a full-size filet mignon, which in itself is very disappointing, the thin "4oz"(not) filet medalions were under cooked . And no baked potatoes! What?! We finished our "Non-Tavern-like" meal looking forward to the excellent cheesecake we've enjoyed dozens of times. Not tonight, my friend! We were told they now offer a homemade flavored cheese cake. Only i opted to try it. What i was served was a small square that tasted little like the excellent NY-style one they served for years. Our server, who the bartender said was now one of the owners, told us that the cheesecake we had bragged about for years, "that old cheesecake was from Cisco!" Hmmm. Very sad! What happened? New chef? New owners? I don't know but the Bottom line is we'll likely find another restaurant that hasn't put profits ahead of quality.

Whether it be…read morefinding the best burger or fried chicken or maybe even hitting craft beer trails, I like to have a theme. One of the best parts of being in the East Coast so much has been really delving into the history of the U.S., especially now that we are trying to delete it and change it into something it isn't. So my quest over the next few months will be to hit the oldest bars/taverns in America. The first stop on this adventure is the Tavern in Abingdon, VA. Built in 1779 (wow!) this was built as a stagecoach stop for travelers headed into the Blue Ridge Highlands, which is worth the trip itself just FYI. Walking up to the building it really looked like just I hoped it would. Years of reading history books and seeing paintings and drawings, I was hoping it would not have been upgraded too much, and it just looked like I imagined. What I was surprised was how amazing the experience was. Also how modern the menu, both drink and food is. Don't ask me why I expected flaggons of ales and bread bowls, makes zero sense. Instead it was a well curated cocktail list with a stunning modern menu. The one thing I knew I had to get was the French Onion soup, I think they called it the Tavern Soup, and it was worth the hype. The cheese was ooey-gooey wonderful and the onions and broth mixed nicely, sweet and salty, and was quite filling on its own. The menu is absolutely loaded with elegant choices: trout, scallops, chicken and risotto, baked salmon. I went full decadence and ordered the lamb chops because I saw it being served at the table close by. I am so glad I did. The meat was cooked absolutely perfectly and soaked in au jus, you couldn't ask for more tender bites. The mashed potatoes was a classic pairing and I ordered a side of asparagus along with it. Along with the beautiful service, the restaurant itself is lovely. I give this the highest of my highest recommendation.
