Kingsport,TN found this and chose it based on reviews. I ordered the bacon omelette and sourdough toast husband ordered two eggs, ham, country potatoes and biscuits with gravy. My Colette was bacon wrapped with eggs and a slice of American cheese on top. The cheese ruined it tasted plasticy. No hash brown or anything but it had a lot of bacon. The ham on the platter was salty and the gravy was underwhelming. The servers were really nice and the restaurant had a good energy. Just wish the food was better. read more

This is your quintessential mom and pop cafe. The food is what you would expect. Mediocre. The gravy was lacking in sausage. Portions are generous. Come here if you're hungry. I'd like to see more personality in the cooking and flavor. read more

I've lived in Kingsport for 49 years. We recently had to sell our home and bought a truck and camper to live in. I promised my wife 45 years ago that I would show her the USA before I passed. Thanks to Sullivan county trying to sell our home for 9 grand in back taxes, the time has come for us to hit the road. This morning, June 9th, 2025 we decided to try out some place that we had never been before for breakfast. My truck is a dually Ram 3500 and I'm still trying to get the hang of driving such a big machine. The parking lot was absolutely packed and I did the best I could in parking it. A regular patron didn't like how and where I had parked and started giving me "what for" before I even got out of the truck. It was ugly and I definitely over-reacted. Words were said that I shouldn't have said, but we decided to go in and eat regardless of the Karen's tirade. So, we go in, find a seat and met some of the nicest people we've ever encountered. Darby, the owner came and asked me VERY POLITELY and KINDLY if I could move my truck to another location to facilitate traffic flow through the lot. I happily obliged him because he was so kind and caring in the way he spoke to me. I explained my situation and he listened like a close friend listens when you need someone, you know? I came back in and my wife and I both ordered the #1 breakfast special. Oh my GOD, people! I rarely clean my plate, but this was some of the most delicious and down home cooking I have ever experienced! Our waitress was a very sweet soul and adored my Service Dog, Dolly like she was her own. Darby came back and checked on us repeatedly and his kindness and sincerity made me wish he were my own son. They are professional, courteous and treat every customer with the utmost respect and kindness. The cooking? It reminded me of my mom's cooking from back in the 60's. You can tell it was prepared with love and thoughtfulness. Overall, (except for the mean Karen) this was probably the best experience I've ever had dining out. Darby needs to be famous, folks! Please, go eat at Cafe 93 every chance you get! The prices are MORE THAN FAIR and you feel like you are part of a loving family when you are there. Thank you Mr. Darby for making me feel like I mattered. You are kind beyond words and I will never forget you. A million thanks are not enough. Food was delicious generous portions service fantastic they make you feel right at home. The place feels like home in your grandmas kitchen.

This place is beyond amazing. The only thing better than the portions is the staff. They were consistent and went above and beyond for my family. My son with autism wasn't having the easiest morning and they were very understanding and helped to keep him entertained even while having a full restaurant. You had me at tenderloin! I always look for good breakfast places when I travel, and this one popped up on Yelp when I was in Kingsport. As soon as I saw tenderloin on the menu, I knew this was the place. I went on a Saturday morning about an hour before closing, and there were plenty of open tables. I was welcomed and seated immediately. There were three excellent breakfast specials on the board that featured something for just about everyone. I ended up ordering off the menu. The portions were very generous, and the food was absolutely delicious from start to finish! I started with coffee, and ordered a scrambled egg with two pieces of tenderloin which came with a biscuit. I added gravy to the biscuit for a nominal charge, and I also added a side of grits to the meal. The wait was reasonable, and the food was perfectly prepared. I'm not sure what happened on the days that these negative reviews on Yelp occurred, but I can tell you my experience was great, and the many locals who were there also seemed to enjoy it. All of the staff was nothing but friendly, and they all pitched in with serving the meal in some way. If you want a great breakfast in Kingsport, Cafe 93 is a top notch choice any morning to start your day and keep you fueled well into the day! read more

It's not an elaborate menu so don't expect anything too out of the ordinary or over the top, but it was decent portions and decent prices. Awesome local diner that serves breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is not served all day, unfortunately, but it is very good. I ordered one of their daily specials - bacon, eggs, and a pancake! SO GOOD. I ordered my bacon crispy and it was cooked to order. The pancake was super fluffy and tasted like it was made from scratch. I've also had lunch here - ordered a daily special of chicken livers with coleslaw and potato salad. I hadn't had chicken livers in ages and these were cooked to perfection. This place is great!!! Friends were talking about this place at the senior center so we thought we'd give a try, it was fabulous & the prices were so reasonable.
